Canada is breaking records
on top of records.
Did you ever think that so
much “iron” could be moved
in Canada?
While the continued
emergence of trucks
continues unabated.

3. Mobility
We have been hinting for
some time.
The model is inexorably
migrating from ownership to
mobility.
It’s a case of pay as you
drive.
Why own it?

4. Leasing
As expected with the
Canadian dollar losing value.
There is a corresponding
increase in leasing.
We anticipate this trend to
continue.
Providing a compelling
advantage to some
manufacturers.

5. Who Is Ahead
Porsche: + 31%
Lexus: + 26%
Mercedes-Benz: + 20%
Acura: + 16%
Land Rover: + 14%
Audi: + 12%
Subaru: + 12%
Nissan: + 12%
VW: + 9%
BMW: + 8%
GM: + 6%

6. Who Is Behind
Jaguar: - 9%
Ford: - 5%
Kia: - 4%
Mazda: - 3%
Hyundai: - 2%
At the three quarter point the
market is up by 2.5%.
Ford, Hyundai, and Kia are
perplexing.

7. Gains
Some manufacturers have
appreciable gains after 9
months.
Its obvious that
manufacturers with gains
above 3% are “stealing” sales
from the competition.
It’s the nature of the auto
business.

AT THE THREE QUARTER OF 2015
• Remarkable year so far on top of a record year last year, and a suppressed economic
scenario in Alberta. Its truly impressive.
• Premium economy is making inroads and stealing sales from several incumbents. With
Mercedes-Benz leading the way. Not only with new but also CPO sales.
• If you have the feeling that the Koreans had their day in the sun, we agree with you.
• Trucks, be it pick ups, SUV, CUV are inexorably displacing sedans. This trend will
continue, with customers seeking utility.
• There is a “friction point” in showrooms which is counter productive for all the
stakeholders.
• Interesting to see the full impact of the VW diesel gate in the months to come.
• Free flowing money, be it finance or lease continues to power sales. Its an appreciable
profit opportunity for the providers of financial services.
