and family members that depict events that influenced their lives in powerful ways. Many or

heard—stories about your family, friends, yourself. Think about stories told to you by
family and friends. Choose one story from which you learned something in your adult life.
Share this story and explain what you learned and why. Identify the source of this narrative
learning. What are its roots? What is its context? To what degree has it evolved or changed
over time? After thinking about the narrative stories you have heard and told, and the role
they have played in your life, to what extent do you believe narrative learning has a place in
adult learning? Explain. How might you use narrative learning in your practice as an adult
