The Cara Program Tech Advisory Board overview
1. The Cara Program Technology Advisory Board Overview
About The Cara Program:
The Cara Program prepares and inspires motivated individuals to break the cycle of
homelessness and poverty, transform their lives, strengthen our communities, and
forge paths to real and lasting success. The Cara Program has evolved as not only a
best-in-class job training and placement provider for individuals affected by
homelessness and poverty, but also a vehicle for true life transformation. Visit our
website at www.thecaraprogram.org.
Purpose:
The core purpose of the Technology Advisory Board is:
To provide The Cara Program with advice and insight on long term and
strategic technology projects and decisions to meet the mission.
To identify and connect The Cara Program with the resources, contacts and
opportunities to assist with technology.
Commitment:
The Advisory Board will meet quarterly at The Cara Program (237 S. Desplaines,
Chicago, IL 60661). These meetings will typically be on a Friday morning for about 2
hours. Members will serve on the Advisory Board for 1 year but may renew their
term.
In addition we would like each Advisory Board member to participate in at least 1
technology project. The involvement in the project could range from reviewing an
RFP, documentation or plans to on-site visits for infrastructure assistance, vendor
evaluations or assessments.
We hope to leverage your expertise and experience in a way that allows you to
contribute in a very direct way while being flexible to your schedule.
Structure:
Ideally the Advisory Board will have 8-10 members with a Chairman plus the
Manager of Technology and the CFO from The Cara Program. We may invite other
people to attend based on the type of project we are focused on to bring any needed
specialized expertise or experience.
