1. INTRODUCTION
Many clients are now turning to Altak Africa for assistance with their development
projects. As a result, Altak Africa is providing a specialist service to ensure that our
clients not only receive value for money but that they benefit from our principle of
“single point responsibility”.
Altak Africa have well experienced and highly qualified staff that is determined to add
value to our client’s project.
With this in mind, Altak Africa is determined to solve problems pertaining to our
client’s project development by the application of the latest thinking and advanced
management techniques.
No one today will doubt the fact that effective management within a project team is
essential to the success of any project. This remains true whether the project is large
or small. Today we see many large corporate clients forming their own projects
management divisions. However, others are using Altak Africa to achieve their overall
objectives.

Africa will provide cutting edge techniques to solve problems.
2. PROFILE ON ALTAK AFRICA
Altak Africa is an independent Project Management, Quantity Surveying and Property
Valuation organization with the head office in Durban and a branch office in Margate.
Although our operations at the moment are concentrated in the Kwa-Zulu Natal
Province, there are plans to expand nationally to cover all other provinces as well as
Africa.

2. 3. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Altak Africa was established on the 1st March 1993. We are committed to
meeting the needs of our valued clients through the use of latest
technology, up to date computer applications, local expertise as well as
valuable international experience gained when studying overseas. The
firm is dedicated to remaining fully abreast of the latest technological
development in design and innovation and their application for the benefit
of our clients and the communities within which it operates.
Altak Africa has the expertise to manage projects from the conceptual
phase through planning, design and implementation to operation.
Training and skills transfer is provided to end - users when required.
Altak Africa’s resources can be used to supplement and/or, compliment
the client’s own staff and/or systems; alternatively we can provide
dedicated personnel. The client may choose to be relieved of the day to
day management functions necessary to successfully complete his project,
whilst retaining the necessary control to ensure project objectives are met.
In addition to individuals allocated to the project full time, Altak Africa is
able to provide added resources when required, to cover emergency or
unforeseen project resourcing peaks.

AFRICA
Today money remains the scarcest resources available to any
organization, large or small. On the other hand, capital projects
entail the expenditure of large sums of money, running into tens of
thousands of rands or more commonly, millions of rands.
It is our informed opinion that whoever is appointed as project
manager to oversee the entire development must not only be cost-
conscious, but must also be formally trained in the latest project cost
control techniques.
To us in Altak Africa the above scenario is nearly not enough. Formal
training and experience in Building Management, coupled with a
formal training and experience in Quantity Surveying is the answer.
The director who heads the Project Management and Quantity
Surveying divisions is similarly qualified.
ALTAK AFRICA, through their strategic alliances, has the flexibility to
handle both small intensive and large projects throughout SOUTH
AFRICA.
ALTAK AFRICA provides the much-needed management skills to
