Interview Questions For Interview Paper
Interview Questions
1. What are the issues with your current system?
Answer: The issue with our current system is that the accounting and tax software we use do not
integrate with one another, so it takes a great amount of time to process corporation's tax returns.
Moreover, not all forms are available on one tax software, so we either use different applications or
fill out the forms manually. Another issue is that the document management software integrates only
with the tax software, so in order for us to keep accounting and financial records, we need to print
and scan documents which is another time consuming process.
2. Which processes tend to take up the most time?
Answer: Data entry is by far the most time consuming process. A lot of information is in paper form
and the data that is entered to the accounting system does not integrate with the tax ... Show more

How do you bill your clients?
Answer: Our clients are billed by a fixed rate. After determining how we may serve our clients we
then create an invoice to track which services were provided and charge the client accordingly. Each
time a new service is added, a description of the charge is detailed in the description section of the
invoice.
4. Does your system allows for a real time tracking?
Answer: No, the current system does not provide any features that allow for a real time tracking. We
created an excel spreadsheet to identify how the work is delegated and to track employees'
performances, but this form is not a good indicator to track time spent on engagements.
5. Is the information being collected sensitive?
Answer: Yes, most of the information collected is quite sensitive because of the private tax and
financial documents. Records may include Social Security Numbers, Employer Identification
Number, birth dates, and personal contact information. Other financial documents may include bank
accounts and credit card numbers, bank balances, location of assets, etc.
6. How do you store all

Personal Narrative: Master Bedroom Renting
On January 11, 2017, I signed a new lease for 4807 Coachmans Dr. #8 Orlando, FL 32812. I signed
it in good faith that you would keep your word and fix the master bedroom toilet, which was never
properly fixed, and the kitchen light, both of which has not worked for 170 days as of February 1,
2017. I had asked you to please get these 2 issues taken care of by January 31, 2017; your reply was
that you would contact your handyman. You told me when we first met that if I do right by you, you
would do right by me. That has not worked out well for me. I have paid my rent on time every
month and a couple of months I paid a month in advance. I even paid an extra $100 (rent increase
for January 2017), which I legally didn't have to pay, since there was no lease covering this month,
and I was, therefore, a tenancy–at–will and not bound by any agreement to pay that extra amount.
May I remind you that on February 3, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One was the master bedroom toilet; you reminded me that I have a 2–bathroom unit and should use
the second bathroom. You even asked me to turn off the water supply to the toilet. I pay for a
2bed/2bath unit and expect to have full use of both, not to have to turn the water supply off and on
every time I use the toilet. I have had company a few times during this 170 day period, the running
water disturbed my guests and it was a major inconvenience for all of us to share the second
bathroom. Due to health issues it has been extremely difficult for me to keep turning the water
supply off and on. Carmella what you have basically said is you have expected me to pay my full
amount of rent on time each month, but you have also expected me to live with a running master

Sources Of Finance : A Business Needs Finance
SOURCES OF FINANCE A business needs finance because it can help with starting up the
business, running the business and expanding the business. New businesses can find it difficult to
raise finance because they usually have just a few customers and many competitors. To start up the
business, you will need to pay for premises, new equipment and advertising. For running the
business, you will need enough cash to pay staff wages and to pay suppliers on time. When
expanding the business, you will need enough funds to have a new branch in another part of the
nation. There are different sources of finance, one being Short Term and the other being Long Term.
Finances which are short term must be paid back within a year whereas sources of finance which is
long term can be paid back over many years. Some sources of finance which we are going to look at
is, an Overdraft Facility, Factoring and Hire Purchase. Overdraft Facility An overdraft facility is
where a bank will allow a business to take out more money than the business actually has in the
bank. An overdraft can be flexible and you can borrow what you need at the time. It is quick to
arrange and the banks do not usually charge you for paying off the overdraft earlier. However,
Overdrafts do have some disadvantages. Your bank can charge you if you exceed your overdraft
limit without authorization. The bank can have the right to ask for the repayment of your overdraft
amount at any time. This can be unlikely to happen unless you

Wahoo Software Case
Facts
Wahoo Software, Inc. is a computer company specializing in communications software and related
products for healthcare, fire and rescue and the military. Sales have grown from $12 million to $75
million in 2015 and the headcount has increased from 25 initial employees to 150. The company is
undertaking a Research & Development project to update and add new features to these projects and
to place them all on a single platform. This work may possibly qualify for the research and
experimentation income tax credit.
Issue
What are the requirements to qualify for the Research &Experimentation tax credit? What are the
different tax treatments for Research & Experimentation expenses? Would a tax credit provide a
benefit for the company, now ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
because the credit amount will directly reduce Wahoo's tax liability. Credits are better than
deductions because tax deductions decrease the tax liability indirectly. Tax credits cannot be used
when a company has a loss, however now that Wahoo is profitable it would very novice not to take
advantage of them.
After doing much research, there is no specific documentation that is required in order to
substantiate the tax credit in accordance with the Internal Revenue Code. However, for Wahoo's best
interest it would be wise to keep documentation of all research and experimentation expenditures as
proof.
Conclusion
Wahoo Software, Inc. research and development will qualify under Section 38 of the Internal
Revenue Code as an allowed research and experimentation credit. The company can elect the
standard treatment of this credit, elect the alternative incremental credit, or elect the alternative
simplified credit. Taking advantage of the Research & Experimentation credit is highly
recommended now that the company is profitable because it will directly decrease taxable income.
Although not legally required, I suggest that the company maintain record/documentation of all
research & experimentation expenses as

The Policies And Taxation Assessment Of Recommending...
1.1 – INTRODUCTION
Under capital gain tax (CGT), property owners have enjoyed preferential tax treatment for decades,
possibly with exemption allowed for residential relief as well as benevolent tax exclusions on
imputed rental income for the owners and capital growth from the disposal of a primary residence.
As stated, this lengthy essay has evolved examining the effects of these CGT policies and taxation
assessment of recommending spouses into business, either for partnership or for employment
purpose.
1.2 – AIMS & OBJECTIVES
The chapters that follow each focus on taxation aspect of residential CGT, Income Tax payable
(ITP) and National Insurance Contributions (NICs) as illustrated below.
CHAPTER 2: SECTION AANSWER
2.1 – THEORECTICAL BACKGROUND OF CAPITAL GAIN TAX RULES
In 1965, Capital Gain Tax (CGT) was first announced without undertaking tax purpose, which
ultimately stimulate tax avoidance in term of converting taxable income into tax–free capital gains.
Until the amendment of subsequent Finance Acts, CGT is considered for its tax implication after
several improvements were made into the Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992 between 1965 and
1982. Theoretically, CGT liability involves when chargeable asset is chargeable disposed by a
chargeable person and only UK residence or ordinary UK residence are allowed for CGT. As a
consolidation from removing major reliefs, any taper, indexation or inflation are no longer
accounted which made the rules in some ways more

Trowel Melt
If you want to fix the cracks in your asphalt driver just like the professionals do, you'll need to
purchase a few tools and set aside a day to fix your driveway. It will take some time and a small
investment in the right tools, but you will save on labor costs and you'll have the tools you need on
hand the next time your driveway needs fixed.
The Supplies & Equipment
In order to patch your asphalt driveway like a professional, you'll need to purchase melt–in filler.
Melt–in asphalt filler will not shrink after it is applied and will not cause additional cracks. This is a
construction grade product. Stay away from squeeze bottles and caulk style fillers; most of these
types of products are easy to apply, but shrink over time and cause the cracks you just fixed to
appear again quickly.
You are also going to need a trowel patch for this project as well as ... Show more content on

If it doesn't melt, turn up the torch just a little bit, and continue with the sweeping motion until it
starts to melt. The filler will go from looking like a white–ish substance to the black color you
associate with asphalt. It may put off a little heat, but should not smoke excessively or smell like it
is burning. If it does, you need to turn down your torch or hold it a couple of inches further back.
Cover It With A Trowel Patch
Finally, after the crack has cooled off for at least half an hour, you can apply the trowel patch to the
crack. You'll want to lay down a small amount of towel patch material and use the trowel to even
and smooth it out. This will ensure that the crack is completely filled and even.
The length of time this project will take depends on how many cracks you have in your driveway. If
you only have one crack, you should be able to complete this entire process in a couple of hours. If
you have multiple long cracks, you may need to dedicate an entire day to fixing your

a) Defined benefit and Defined contribution plans
Defined Benefit Pension Plan – The income you receive at retirement under the plan is
predetermined and is usually based on a formula involving your years of service and earnings. You
receive annual statements clearly indicating the benefit on your retirement date. In these types of

Defined Contribution Pension Plan – The income you receive at retirement under the plan is not
pre–determined. It's based on the assets within your individual retirement plan account at the time
you retire. In the plan, your company makes a contribution based on a formula, which may or may

CHAPTER 8 Cost–Volume–Profit Analysis
ANSWERS TO REVIEW QUESTIONS
8–1 a. In the contribution–margin approach, the break–even point in units is calculated using the
following formula:
Break–even point = fixed expenses unit contribution margin
b. In the equation approach, the following profit equation is used: sales volume ⎞ ⎛ unit variable
sales volume ⎞ ⎛ unit fixed ⎜ ⎟ −⎜ ⎟ − ⎜ sales price × ⎟ ⎜ expense × ⎟ expenses = 0 in units ⎠

West Company's cost structure will include a larger proportion of variable costs than East
Company's cost structure. A firm's operating leverage factor, at a particular sales volume, is defined
as its total contribution margin divided by its net income. Since East Company has proportionately
higher fixed costs, it will have a proportionately higher total contribution margin. Therefore, East
Company's operating leverage factor will be higher.

When sales volume increases, Company X will have a higher percentage increase in profit than
Company Y. Company X's higher proportion of fixed costs gives the firm a higher operating
leverage factor. The company's percentage increase in profit can be found by multiplying the
percentage increase in sales volume by the firm's operating leverage factor. The sales mix of a

Yardbird Analysis
Yardbird, a short story that was released in 2012 directed by Micheal Spiccia which is his only
public work. This short film is a very interesting piece that has small parts of horror entwined into a
supernatural/fantasy theme that is set in what can be perceived as reality. There are many different
themes that can be found within this short, like with power comes responsibility, but the one I find
most interesting is "You can't fix everything". "You can't fix everything" was first said by her
fatherly figure when Ruby is going to bed while look at what seems to be an old photo of some kind,
you can speculate that it was something to do with her mother or maybe even some old relatives
however there is no hard evidence of what the photo contains, all we can believe is that it has to do
with her directly. The reason we know that it has to do with her directly is because she is a young
girl who is living alone with her fatherly figure gets told by her fatherly figure that "you can't fix
everything", and he says this with a sour tone, as if he is affected and he is just trying to console
himself. Going on the idea that the photo was an old photo of Ruby and her family which was
broken for any reason, the line "you can't fix everything" fits perfectly because of what the dialogue
and the prop could be conveying which is that nobody has the power to fix everything. In this scene,
the director is further developing the idea of, when some things break they can never be fixed In

Descriptive Essay About Father
When I was 10 years old, I realized I was different from my father. I was in my room playing with
LEGO's when dad called up. "Do you wanna help me fix the car?" As the truck often had problems
dad had to fix. I thought about it, remembering how dirty dad would be afterward. "No, I don't
wanna be filthy," I called back, and that right there is when I realized how different I was from my
father. Now thinking about it, both are physical build as well as mental were completely different. I
was clean and liked science and math, while dad was always filthy and preferred working with his
hands over science. The differences could not be more obvious, while dad worked outside fixing
this, or building that. I would sit inside reading a book, both fictional and nonfictional. Obtaining all
the information contained inside. Dad would often dive into a problem head on without much
thought about it, while I, on the other hand, would examine a situation from all angles. Attempting
to find the best solution. Another situation is physical. My father is built strong but short, around
five six, with a shiny bald head. While I am weak, and skinny, but taller with long curly hair. Back
when father had hair it was straight and black while mine is brown. My skin is always shiny white
that can not hold a tan more than a few days. While dad has a dark tan almost always and he never
burns. I was always a child of science and math, while dad did not care for such things. Back when I

Weight Federal Spending: A Case Study
Though difficult, there are multiple ways to help and lighten the weight federal spending is used on
healthcare. First off is to increase the savings in the current healthcare law. This could be done
through reduced Medicare payments to health providers and insurers, cutting cost if savings don't
materialize.24 We can incentivize both employers and employees to choose cost–effective health
plans. This is down by capping the tax exclusion of employer–provided health benefits.25 We could
also increase the retirement age. This is down by gradually raising it first to 67 from 65, and further
increasing it as needed.26 A out worldly idea is to pay the patients rather than the physician.27
Patients would use the insurance to receive a fixed cost based on the medical condition they have
and will be able to use it in a medical provider under any terms and conditions the patient wants.27
This will allow the patient to have a freedom of choosing where they want to get medical service
and would minimize spending since it is a fixed amount. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

A increase of tax from the current 0.5% to 1.95 would substantially increase Medicare revenue by
34.48% that if changed back then during the year 2012 revenues would have expected to be around
$716.4B.28 A way to decrease federal spending is the method of cost sharing. It is an insurance
policy that the individual who is insured has to pay a portion of the costs of the covered services.29
A unconventional way to help with the Medicare crisis is to promote immigration. Immigrants
usually are younger and are likely to be in the working age. Promoting immigration can grant a
substantial workforce that can increase tax allocation, thus, improving the economy.30 Though it

Political Parties Of The United States : The Democratic...
There are two main political parties that dominate politics in the in the United States: The
Democratic and Republic Parties. It turns out that these two political parties are opposed to each
other on a wide range of issues that affect American public life. Unfortunately, many Americans are
unaware of these differences between the two parties and tend to vote their officials into office in an
uneducated manner. This often results in the political gridlock that often characterize government
business in Washington. The Republican and Democratic Party don 't have much in common but
they do have a a lot of things that they oppose from each other. Some issues that both parties have in
common support the death penalty. But on issues like abortion Democrats think that should be made
legal while Republicans think that it should be illegal. In this essay, I shall examine the ideological
positions of either party on a number of these issues in order to define my own allegiance towards
either of them. The government has control over taxes, government spending, and public policies.
There are two types of fiscal policies, expansionary and contractionary, which can increase or
decrease taxes and government spending. The Republican Party on the issue is that our citizens
should not have the power to address changes in the government. The Republican Party should set
taxes at a fixed price as well. This policy, along with a Flat tax system, could mean that the upper–

feel unworthy of voting. They thought that if the blacks felt poor, then blacks would not vote
because they thought of themselves as improper. The money wasn't all that much, it was only $1 to
$2 a year. Many of the Southerners would not hire, and even if they did they would not pay enough
for the blacks and a select few whites to pay the poll tax. No states punished those who did not pay
the tax, but many people who had to pay the tax were afraid of what would happen if they did not
pay. People also felt the need to pay them since if you did not pay you couldn't vote. In 1937 a white
man went to the Supreme Court saying that the poll taxes were unconstitutional compared to the
14th and 19th amendments. Since he thought that the taxes were taking away a citizen's right to vote
freely without consequence. He also thought they were opposing of sex since women who were
registered to vote had to pay the tax and the women not registered did not have to pay the tax,no
matter what color or class they were. The Supreme Court dismissed his claims, saying that the poll
taxes were simply to collect revenue and in no way were related to disfranchisement. They also said
that the 19th amendment was solely meant for voting rights and it had no relation to taxation. The
case was called Breedlove v.s Suttles.

An Analysis Of Louise Erdrich 's ' The Red Convertible '
Mailk Sims Often times, an inanimate object can be as important and sometimes more important
than the characters of the story. In Louise Erdrich 's "The Red Convertible," the car played the same
important role as the characters did, but for different reasons. Two brothers, Lyman and Henry, had
very little in common other than their blood. One day they decided to catch a ride to Winnipeg. The
car was introduced while these two were doing some sightseeing in the city. They spotted the red
Oldsmobile convertible. Lyman, the storyteller, almost made the car a living thing when he said,
"There it was, parked, large as life. Really as if it were alive." (461) The brothers used all of the
money they had, less some change for gas to get home, to buy the car. The car 's significance was
the bond that it created between the brothers. The purchase of the vehicle brought these two together
with a common interest: the car. Once the bond was formed, the brothers became inseparable, at
least for a while. The boys spent the whole summer in the car. They explored new places; met new
people and furthered the bond that the car had created. When they returned from their trip, Henry
was sent to war. He left the car with Lyman. While Henry was gone, Lyman spent his time
pampering and fixing the car. Lyman saw the car as an extension of Henry. Lyman used the car to
maintain an emotional bond with his brother who was thousands of miles away. During the war,
Henry was taken P.O.W. and spent time

April 14th 2017, the day my life had changed. I never thought in a million years that I'd actually
get into a car accident, not to metion almost killing my friend and myself.
A couple of months ago around 11:49, I was driving a 2011 Chevy Inmpala all black while my
friend rode in the passenger seat. Unlike most cars i've driven, this particular was fast. I mean i
would
be going 50mph but it would feel like i was going 80mph. The problem with driving a car is
everytime
you turn around something needs to be fixed. Well in my case it was my throttle. A throttle is a
device
that basically controls the power to your engine(no throttle, no engine). So if your macanic says
"you
need your throttle fixed, just get it fixed or you'll regret it.
I was on 294 going 65mph when all of a sudden my car took over. My wheel locked and my
brakes went completely out. Before i knew it we were spinning in cirlces and we cashed head–on
into a
rail. It took me about two mintues to figure out what had just happened. When i finally lifted my
head
all I could hear was screaming and moaning. I looked to my right and all i saw was my friend
slimped
over, I instantly went into "Greys Anatomy mode." I break out of my car and ran fast to the
passenger
side and I opened the door and grabbed her not noticing she was badly injured. I pulled her close to
e
and layed her down on the ground. As i go back to grab my phone to call the police i noticed a lot of

Unit 1: Week 1 – Homework–1
P1–1. a. Calculate the tax disadvantage to organizing a U.S. business today as a corporation, as
compared to a partnership, under the following conditions. Assume that all earnings will be paid out
as cash dividends. Operating income (operating profit before taxes) will be $500,000 per year under
either organizational form. The tax rate on corporate profits is 35 percent (Tc = 0.35), the average
personal tax rate for the partners is also 35 percent (Tp = 0.35), and the capital gains tax rate on

But if organized as a corporation, operating income will be taxed once at the corporate level and
again at the personal level, so investors will receive only $500,000 (10.35)(10.386) = $199,550.
Partners thus pay a total tax rate of 38.6 percent on business income, while corporate shareholders
pay a combined tax rate of 60.09 percent [1– (10.35)(1–0.386)] on this income, the "Corporate Tax
Wedge" is the difference between these two rates, or 21.49 percentage points (60.09%38.6%).
P1–2. Calculate the tax disadvantage to organizing a U.S. business as a corporation versus as a
partnership under the following conditions. Assume that all earnings will be paid out as cash
dividends. Operating income (operating profit before taxes) will be $3,000,000 per year under either
organizational form. The tax rate on corporate profits is 30 percent (Tc = 0.30); the average personal
tax rate for the partners is 35 percent (Tp = 0.35); and the capital gains tax rate on dividend income
is 15 percent (Tdiv = 0.15). Then, recalculate the tax disadvantage using the same income but with
the maximum tax rates that existed prior to 2003. (These rates were 35 percent (Tc = 0.35) on
corporate profits and 38.6 percent (Tp = 0.386) on personal investment income.) ANSWER P1–2

The Significance Of Grit By Deborah Perkins Gough Essay
In The Significance of Grit by Deborah Perkins–Gough and Angela Duckworth who graduated from
the University of Pennsylvania conducting research studies from grit. It states, she's been doing this
for 11 years (Perkins–Gough pg.15). Furthermore, I would talk more about it. Another Article is
Brainology Transforming Students' Motivation to Learn by Carol S. Dweck. Something I know from
the top of my head is that Dweck is a Psychology Professor at Stanford University. This article
covers more about the research in fixed and growth mindset.
Duckworth explains people with grit are those who confront failure and don't give up easily. She did
research on the U.S Army to determine their grit. She realize, if the soldiers had a though of mind of
grit they showed good results in their military performance on summer camp. Also, there was a
fascinating research she had with taxi drivers relating to grit. Commonly, one would think that taxi
drivers make more money in a rainy day. But what she found out was that taxi drivers work less
hours in rainy days because they would make the sufficient money they needed for the day. In
similarity, she compare this research to talent and grit. One with talent will spent less time on
something so they stop immediately once they have proficient. In the other hand, someone with grit
will spend longer time and get more out of it.
My first year of college I was devastated because I didn't pass my math class due to procrastination.

Summary Chapter 12 Determining the Financial Mix
Chapter 12
Determining the financing mix I. Risk * Variability associated with expected revenue or income
streams. Such variability may arise due to: * Choice of business line (business risk) * Choice of an
operating cost structure (operating risk) * Choice of Capital structure (financial risk)
a) Business Risk * Variation in the firm's expected earnings attributable to the industry in which the
firm operates. There are four determinants of business risk: * The stability of the domestic economy
* The exposure to, and stability of, foreign economies * Sensitivity to the business cycle *
Competitive pressures in the firm's industry
b) Operating Risk * Operating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
* Financial Leverage
* Financial leverage means financing a portion of the firm's assets with securities bearing a fixed
rate of return in hopes of increasing the return to the common stockholders. * Thus decision to use
preferred stock or debt exposes the common stockholders to financial risk. * Variability of EBIT is
magnified by firm's use of financial leverage.
* Combined Leverage
* Operating leverage causes changes in sales revenues to cause even greater changes in EBIT;
Furthermore, changes in EBIT due to financial leverage create large variations in both EPS and total
earnings available to common shareholders. * Not surprisingly, Combining operating and financial
leverage causes rather large variations in EPS
* Combined Leverage = Percentage change in EPS/Percentage change in sales * Or combined
leverage
= Operating Leverage Financial Leverage
IV. Planning the Financing Mix
Capital Structure * Financial Structure * Mix of all items that appear on the right–hand side of the
company's balance sheet * Capital Structure * Mix of the long–term sources of funds used by the
firm * Capital Structure = Financial Structure – Non–interest bearing liabilities (accounts payable,

Portrayal Of Ibedienceation In Thoreau's Civil Of...
In the essay of Civil of Disobedience, Thoreau goes into detail about his personal interaction with
civil disobedience. Thoreau hasn't paid a poll tax for six years. Poll taxes are a tax levied on every
adult, without reference to income or resources. Thoreau was placed into jail for punishment for
rebelling against the government. Thoreau says his experience in jail did not hurt his spirit: "I saw
that, if there was a wall of stone between me and my townsmen, there was a still more difficult one
to break through, before they could get to be as free as I was." Since the State couldn't reach his
essential self, they decided to punish his body. This illustrated the State's ultimate weakness, and
Thoreau says that he came to pity the State. The masses can't force him to do anything; he is subject
only to those who obey a higher law. He says that he has to obey his own laws and try to flourish in
this way.
The night in prison, he recounts, was "novel and interesting enough." His roommate had been
accused of burning down a barn, though Thoreau speculated that the man had fallen asleep drunk in
the barn while smoking a pipe. Thoreau was let in on the gossip and history of the jail and was
shown several verses that were composed in the jail. The workings of the jail fascinated him, and
staying in jail that night was like traveling in another country. He felt as if he was seeing his town
through the light of the middle ages––as if he had never heard the sounds of his town before.

Charitable Gift Annuity
Now, let's talk about the charitable gift annuity. A charitable gift annuity is a simple contract
between the donor and the charity. In exchange for the donor's irrevocable gift of cash, securities, or
other assets, the charity agrees to pay one or two annuitants that the donor has named a fixed sum
each year for life. The payments are backed by the general resources of the charity. The older their
designated annuitants are at the time of the gift, the greater the fixed payment charity can agree to
pay. In most cases, part of each payment is tax free, increasing each payment after tax value. If the
donor gives appreciated property, the donor will pay capital gains tax on only part of the
appreciation. In addition, if the donor names themselves as the first or only annuitant, the capital
gains tax will be spread over many years rather than all due in the year of their gift. ... Show more

Resistance To Civil Government Thoreau Summary
In the essay "Resistance to Civil Government," Thoreau, the writer, begins by saying he agrees with
the motto "That government is best which governs least." Thoreau says that one–day men will be
able to go without the government since the government isn't useful and better when it's not there.
Thoreau presents an effective argument by explaining what is injustice with our government and
how we should fix it. The three things that Thoreau wants the readers of his essay to do is to fight
for what is right, to not be associated with something that is wrong and to obey your own laws and
try to flourish them in your own way. The first thing that Thoreau wants the readers to do is to fight
for what is right. Thoreau goes on by saying how unjust the laws are. He states that the Mexican
War is an illegal war so by the government forcing Thoreau to pay the poll taxes that go to support
the illegal war is unjust. Thoreau believes in doing what is right over what the government tells us to
do. Thoreau also talks about the farmers who are letting the government control them instead of
protesting against the government. the government makes unjust laws that people should cease to
associate with. In fact, Thoreau says the American people would have been even more successful in
these endeavors had government been even less involved (SparkNotes Editors). The next thing
Thoreau wants the readers to stand up for is slavery. There is the enslavement of one–sixth of the
population. For there to

Volkswagen Case Study
Being the second largest car manufacturer in the world, Volkswagen really dug themselves a deep
hole. According to Bocconi Students Investment Club, "The company was discovered cheating on
the emission tests by installing software that limits the harmful fumes produces but only while the
vehicle is being tested. Once on the road, the company's vehicles' emission levels exceed the norm
by 10–40 times." While reading the "Bocconi Students Investment Club" that you have provided for
us, it goes in depth about how this scandal was suppose to help Volkswagen become the first car
manufacturer in the world. Volkswagen ethically broke the law by installing these software systems
in their vehicles that lower the NOx levels in the engine of their vehicles ranging from 2009–2015.
According to BSIC, "At the core of this scandal are the so–called "defeat devices" installed by
Volkswagen on some 11 million cars worldwide. At the moment legal charges have been brought up
on roughly 482,000 diesel vehicles operating in the US under VW and Audi badges." This
investigation started to occur in 2015. According to BSIC "When the software dented that it was
being tested, it would change to an alternate engine configuration, lowering toxic NOx levels in
exchange for a drop in performance and fuel economy." Since this discussion about what
Volkswagen did, they have lost a lot of their business. Consumers are not going to want to buy
vehicles from this company any more because of how much money it would cost them to get their
car fixed. This dispute has hurt a lot of people in the process. For an example, it is hurting the
consumers because they have to get their vehicle fixed, the company itself because they are under
lawsuits and potential fines. According to BSIC "The serious implications for the firm are expected
to not only include costs arising from fines, lawsuits and recall costs, but also criminal and civil
chargers pursued against individuals directly responsible for the incident." By having all of these
lawsuits and recall costs it is going to cost Volkswagen a lot of money in the long run. According to
BSIC "Under the threat of a 18 billion potential fine, the negative reaction of the market has been

Answer:
Break even analysis can be used to decide whether to alter the existing product emphasis or not. For
example in this case, if we refer last year's data, we can see that the product C is not economically
feasible to manufacture at $2.40 / unit. Following table gives the analysis for checking whether the

After tax = 750000/.70=1071428.57
# of passenger
205–85=1071429+3600000*120 = 4671429
4671429/129 = 38928.57 or 38929
f. # of discounted seats = ?
Contribution margin for discounted fares X # discounted seats = $ each train X$ ? train cars per day
X ? days per month= $? minus $ additional fixed costs = $? pretax income.
90*80%= 72–63= 9 seats
9*50*30=13400
CMU=120–70=50
13500*50=675000
675000–180000=495000 pre tax income
g. 1.
Compute Contribution margin =175–70=150 per passenger
Then, # seats X $ X # train cars = 90*60=54 seats*105*20 = $ 113400
Increased fixed cost ( ?) (250000)
Pretax gain (loss) on new route $ 136600
2 and 3. Compute # of passengers and train cars using computation approaches employed in some of
the above problems.
175x–$70x–$250000=$120000 , 105x=370000, x=3524 passenger
3524/54=65 train car, 3.90*75= 68 seat filled, 3524/68= 52 train cars

Interview Questions Tax Software Integration

  • 1. Interview Questions For Interview Paper Interview Questions 1. What are the issues with your current system? Answer: The issue with our current system is that the accounting and tax software we use do not integrate with one another, so it takes a great amount of time to process corporation's tax returns. Moreover, not all forms are available on one tax software, so we either use different applications or fill out the forms manually. Another issue is that the document management software integrates only with the tax software, so in order for us to keep accounting and financial records, we need to print and scan documents which is another time consuming process. 2. Which processes tend to take up the most time? Answer: Data entry is by far the most time consuming process. A lot of information is in paper form and the data that is entered to the accounting system does not integrate with the tax ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How do you bill your clients? Answer: Our clients are billed by a fixed rate. After determining how we may serve our clients we then create an invoice to track which services were provided and charge the client accordingly. Each time a new service is added, a description of the charge is detailed in the description section of the invoice. 4. Does your system allows for a real time tracking? Answer: No, the current system does not provide any features that allow for a real time tracking. We created an excel spreadsheet to identify how the work is delegated and to track employees' performances, but this form is not a good indicator to track time spent on engagements. 5. Is the information being collected sensitive? Answer: Yes, most of the information collected is quite sensitive because of the private tax and financial documents. Records may include Social Security Numbers, Employer Identification Number, birth dates, and personal contact information. Other financial documents may include bank accounts and credit card numbers, bank balances, location of assets, etc. 6. How do you store all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Personal Narrative: Master Bedroom Renting On January 11, 2017, I signed a new lease for 4807 Coachmans Dr. #8 Orlando, FL 32812. I signed it in good faith that you would keep your word and fix the master bedroom toilet, which was never properly fixed, and the kitchen light, both of which has not worked for 170 days as of February 1, 2017. I had asked you to please get these 2 issues taken care of by January 31, 2017; your reply was that you would contact your handyman. You told me when we first met that if I do right by you, you would do right by me. That has not worked out well for me. I have paid my rent on time every month and a couple of months I paid a month in advance. I even paid an extra $100 (rent increase for January 2017), which I legally didn't have to pay, since there was no lease covering this month, and I was, therefore, a tenancy–at–will and not bound by any agreement to pay that extra amount. May I remind you that on February 3, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One was the master bedroom toilet; you reminded me that I have a 2–bathroom unit and should use the second bathroom. You even asked me to turn off the water supply to the toilet. I pay for a 2bed/2bath unit and expect to have full use of both, not to have to turn the water supply off and on every time I use the toilet. I have had company a few times during this 170 day period, the running water disturbed my guests and it was a major inconvenience for all of us to share the second bathroom. Due to health issues it has been extremely difficult for me to keep turning the water supply off and on. Carmella what you have basically said is you have expected me to pay my full amount of rent on time each month, but you have also expected me to live with a running master bedroom toilet or toilet for 170 days. It would have been different if you had gotten the toilet fixed in a timely fashion. Would you live with no master bedroom toilet for 170days? I think ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Sources Of Finance : A Business Needs Finance SOURCES OF FINANCE A business needs finance because it can help with starting up the business, running the business and expanding the business. New businesses can find it difficult to raise finance because they usually have just a few customers and many competitors. To start up the business, you will need to pay for premises, new equipment and advertising. For running the business, you will need enough cash to pay staff wages and to pay suppliers on time. When expanding the business, you will need enough funds to have a new branch in another part of the nation. There are different sources of finance, one being Short Term and the other being Long Term. Finances which are short term must be paid back within a year whereas sources of finance which is long term can be paid back over many years. Some sources of finance which we are going to look at is, an Overdraft Facility, Factoring and Hire Purchase. Overdraft Facility An overdraft facility is where a bank will allow a business to take out more money than the business actually has in the bank. An overdraft can be flexible and you can borrow what you need at the time. It is quick to arrange and the banks do not usually charge you for paying off the overdraft earlier. However, Overdrafts do have some disadvantages. Your bank can charge you if you exceed your overdraft limit without authorization. The bank can have the right to ask for the repayment of your overdraft amount at any time. This can be unlikely to happen unless you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Credits are better than deductions because tax deductions decrease the tax liability indirectly. Tax credits cannot be used when a company has a loss, however now that Wahoo is profitable it would very novice not to take advantage of them. After doing much research, there is no specific documentation that is required in order to substantiate the tax credit in accordance with the Internal Revenue Code. However, for Wahoo's best interest it would be wise to keep documentation of all research and experimentation expenditures as proof. The Policies And Taxation Assessment Of Recommending... 1.1 – INTRODUCTION Under capital gain tax (CGT), property owners have enjoyed preferential tax treatment for decades, possibly with exemption allowed for residential relief as well as benevolent tax exclusions on imputed rental income for the owners and capital growth from the disposal of a primary residence. Therefore, East Company's operating leverage factor will be higher. 8–14 8–15 When sales volume increases, Company X will have a higher percentage increase in profit than Company Y. Company X's higher proportion of fixed costs gives the firm a higher operating leverage factor. • 27. Yardbird Analysis Yardbird, a short story that was released in 2012 directed by Micheal Spiccia which is his only public work. This short film is a very interesting piece that has small parts of horror entwined into a supernatural/fantasy theme that is set in what can be perceived as reality. There are many different themes that can be found within this short, like with power comes responsibility, but the one I find most interesting is "You can't fix everything". "You can't fix everything" was first said by her fatherly figure when Ruby is going to bed while look at what seems to be an old photo of some kind, you can speculate that it was something to do with her mother or maybe even some old relatives however there is no hard evidence of what the photo contains, all we can believe is that it has to do with her directly. The reason we know that it has to do with her directly is because she is a young girl who is living alone with her fatherly figure gets told by her fatherly figure that "you can't fix everything", and he says this with a sour tone, as if he is affected and he is just trying to console himself. Going on the idea that the photo was an old photo of Ruby and her family which was broken for any reason, the line "you can't fix everything" fits perfectly because of what the dialogue and the prop could be conveying which is that nobody has the power to fix everything. In this scene, the director is further developing the idea of, when some things break they can never be fixed In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Weight Federal Spending: A Case Study Though difficult, there are multiple ways to help and lighten the weight federal spending is used on healthcare. First off is to increase the savings in the current healthcare law. This could be done through reduced Medicare payments to health providers and insurers, cutting cost if savings don't materialize.24 We can incentivize both employers and employees to choose cost–effective health plans. This is down by capping the tax exclusion of employer–provided health benefits.25 We could also increase the retirement age. This is down by gradually raising it first to 67 from 65, and further increasing it as needed.26 A out worldly idea is to pay the patients rather than the physician.27 Patients would use the insurance to receive a fixed cost based on the medical condition they have and will be able to use it in a medical provider under any terms and conditions the patient wants.27 This will allow the patient to have a freedom of choosing where they want to get medical service and would minimize spending since it is a fixed amount. ... It turns out that these two political parties are opposed to each other on a wide range of issues that affect American public life. Unfortunately, many Americans are unaware of these differences between the two parties and tend to vote their officials into office in an uneducated manner. This often results in the political gridlock that often characterize government business in Washington. Some issues that both parties have in common support the death penalty. But on issues like abortion Democrats think that should be made legal while Republicans think that it should be illegal. They thought that if the blacks felt poor, then blacks would not vote because they thought of themselves as improper. The money wasn't all that much, it was only $1 to $2 a year. Many of the Southerners would not hire, and even if they did they would not pay enough for the blacks and a select few whites to pay the poll tax. No states punished those who did not pay the tax, but many people who had to pay the tax were afraid of what would happen if they did not pay. People also felt the need to pay them since if you did not pay you couldn't vote. In 1937 a white man went to the Supreme Court saying that the poll taxes were unconstitutional compared to the 14th and 19th amendments. He also thought they were opposing of sex since women who were registered to vote had to pay the tax and the women not registered did not have to pay the tax,no matter what color or class they were. The Supreme Court dismissed his claims, saying that the poll taxes were simply to collect revenue and in no way were related to disfranchisement. They also said that the 19th amendment was solely meant for voting rights and it had no relation to taxation. The case was called Breedlove v.s Suttles. In Louise Erdrich 's "The Red Convertible," the car played the same important role as the characters did, but for different reasons. Two brothers, Lyman and Henry, had very little in common other than their blood. One day they decided to catch a ride to Winnipeg. The car was introduced while these two were doing some sightseeing in the city. They spotted the red Oldsmobile convertible. Lyman, the storyteller, almost made the car a living thing when he said, "There it was, parked, large as life. Really as if it were alive." (461) The brothers used all of the money they had, less some change for gas to get home, to buy the car. The car 's significance was the bond that it created between the brothers. The purchase of the vehicle brought these two together with a common interest: the car. Once the bond was formed, the brothers became inseparable, at least for a while. The boys spent the whole summer in the car. They explored new places; met new people and furthered the bond that the car had created. When they returned from their trip, Henry was sent to war. He left the car with Lyman. While Henry was gone, Lyman spent his time pampering and fixing the car. Lyman saw the car as an extension of Henry. Also, there was a fascinating research she had with taxi drivers relating to grit. Commonly, one would think that taxi drivers make more money in a rainy day. But what she found out was that taxi drivers work less hours in rainy days because they would make the sufficient money they needed for the day. In similarity, she compare this research to talent and grit. One with talent will spent less time on something so they stop immediately once they have proficient. Such variability may arise due to: * Choice of business line (business risk) * Choice of an operating cost structure (operating risk) * Choice of Capital structure (financial risk) a) Business Risk * Variation in the firm's expected earnings attributable to the industry in which the firm operates. • 63. Portrayal Of Ibedienceation In Thoreau's Civil Of... In the essay of Civil of Disobedience, Thoreau goes into detail about his personal interaction with civil disobedience. Thoreau hasn't paid a poll tax for six years. Poll taxes are a tax levied on every adult, without reference to income or resources. Thoreau was placed into jail for punishment for rebelling against the government. Thoreau says his experience in jail did not hurt his spirit: "I saw that, if there was a wall of stone between me and my townsmen, there was a still more difficult one to break through, before they could get to be as free as I was." Since the State couldn't reach his essential self, they decided to punish his body. This illustrated the State's ultimate weakness, and Thoreau says that he came to pity the State. The masses can't force him to do anything; he is subject only to those who obey a higher law. He says that he has to obey his own laws and try to flourish in this way. The night in prison, he recounts, was "novel and interesting enough." His roommate had been accused of burning down a barn, though Thoreau speculated that the man had fallen asleep drunk in the barn while smoking a pipe. Thoreau was let in on the gossip and history of the jail and was shown several verses that were composed in the jail. The workings of the jail fascinated him, and staying in jail that night was like traveling in another country. He felt as if he was seeing his town through the light of the middle ages––as if he had never heard the sounds of his town before. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 65. Charitable Gift Annuity Now, let's talk about the charitable gift annuity. A charitable gift annuity is a simple contract between the donor and the charity. In exchange for the donor's irrevocable gift of cash, securities, or other assets, the charity agrees to pay one or two annuitants that the donor has named a fixed sum each year for life. The payments are backed by the general resources of the charity. The older their designated annuitants are at the time of the gift, the greater the fixed payment charity can agree to pay. In most cases, part of each payment is tax free, increasing each payment after tax value. If the donor gives appreciated property, the donor will pay capital gains tax on only part of the appreciation. In addition, if the donor names themselves as the first or only annuitant, the capital gains tax will be spread over many years rather than all due in the year of their gift. ... • 67. Resistance To Civil Government Thoreau Summary In the essay "Resistance to Civil Government," Thoreau, the writer, begins by saying he agrees with the motto "That government is best which governs least." Thoreau says that one–day men will be able to go without the government since the government isn't useful and better when it's not there. Thoreau presents an effective argument by explaining what is injustice with our government and how we should fix it. The three things that Thoreau wants the readers of his essay to do is to fight for what is right, to not be associated with something that is wrong and to obey your own laws and try to flourish them in your own way. The first thing that Thoreau wants the readers to do is to fight for what is right. Thoreau goes on by saying how unjust the laws are. He states that the Mexican War is an illegal war so by the government forcing Thoreau to pay the poll taxes that go to support the illegal war is unjust. Thoreau believes in doing what is right over what the government tells us to do. Thoreau also talks about the farmers who are letting the government control them instead of protesting against the government. the government makes unjust laws that people should cease to associate with. In fact, Thoreau says the American people would have been even more successful in these endeavors had government been even less involved (SparkNotes Editors). The next thing Thoreau wants the readers to stand up for is slavery. There is the enslavement of one–sixth of the population. For there to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Once on the road, the company's vehicles' emission levels exceed the norm by 10–40 times." While reading the "Bocconi Students Investment Club" that you have provided for us, it goes in depth about how this scandal was suppose to help Volkswagen become the first car manufacturer in the world. Volkswagen ethically broke the law by installing these software systems in their vehicles that lower the NOx levels in the engine of their vehicles ranging from 2009–2015. According to BSIC, "At the core of this scandal are the so–called "defeat devices" installed by Volkswagen on some 11 million cars worldwide. At the moment legal charges have been brought up on roughly 482,000 diesel vehicles operating in the US under VW and Audi badges." This investigation started to occur in 2015. According to BSIC "When the software dented that it was being tested, it would change to an alternate engine configuration, lowering toxic NOx levels in exchange for a drop in performance and fuel economy." Since this discussion about what Volkswagen did, they have lost a lot of their business. Consumers are not going to want to buy vehicles from this company any more because of how much money it would cost them to get their car fixed. This dispute has hurt a lot of people in the process. For an example, it is hurting the consumers because they have to get their vehicle fixed, the company itself because they are under lawsuits and potential fines. According to BSIC "The serious implications for the firm are expected to not only include costs arising from fines, lawsuits and recall costs, but also criminal and civil chargers pursued against individuals directly responsible for the incident." By having all of these lawsuits and recall costs it is going to cost Volkswagen a lot of money in the long run.
