Bruce Dickinson is an English musician and lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Iron Maiden. He began his music career in pub bands in the 1970s and studied at Sheffield University before joining Samson and then Iron Maiden in 1981. Dickinson has also pursued careers as a pilot, author, broadcaster and entrepreneur. He is a licensed airline transport pilot who currently pilots Iron Maiden's touring plane, in addition to having written two books and competing internationally in fencing.
