seconds.
200 meters at 19.30 seconds
Along with his teammates, the 4×100 meters relay at 37.10 seconds,
all set at the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Bolt became the first man to win all three events at a single Olympics.
since Carl Lewis in 1984, and the first man in history to set world
records in all three at a single Olympics.
At the 2009 Berlin World Championships on Sunday 16 August, he won
the 100m final in a new world record time of 9.58 seconds.
5. 14 FASTEST CAR

Aluminum, Narrow Angle 8 Liter W16 Engine with 1200 hp, base price is
$2,400,000.
Although the Bugatti Veyron lost the title to SSC Ultimate Aero on March
2007, Bugatti challenge the record in Germany on July 10, 2010 with the
new 2010 Super Sport Version and the Veyron once again claims the
title of the fastest car in the world at 267 mph
. The original Bugatti Veyron has a top speed of 253 mph, priced at
$1,700,000 and equipped with 1001 hp.
6. 13 FASTEST LAND ANIMAL
The fastest land animal in the world, the cheetah is a marvel
of evolution.
Capable of running up to 70 miles per hour.
The cheetah’s slender, long-legged body is built for speed.
Its spotted coat, small head and ears, and distinctive “tear
stripes” from the corner of the eyes down the sides of the
nose make the cheetah highly recognizable among the large
cats of Africa.
7. 12 FASTEST COMPUTER
The K computer – named for the Japanese word "kei" (京?), meaning 10
quadrillion – is a supercomputer produced by Fujitsu, currently installed
at the RIKEN Advanced Institute for Computational Science campus in
Kobe, Japan.
The K computer is based on distributed memory architecture, with over
80,000 computer nodes.
In June 2011, TOP500 ranked K the world's fastest supercomputer, with
a rating of over 8 petaflops, and in November 2011, K became the first
computer to top 10 petaflops. It is slated for completion in June 2012
8. 11 FASTEST FISH
Sailfish are two species of fishes in the genus Istiophorus, living in
warmer sections of all the oceans of the world.
They are blue to grey in color and have a characteristic erectile dorsal
fin known as a sail, which often stretches the entire length of the back.
Another notable characteristic is the elongated bill, resembling that of
the swordfish and other marlins. Individuals have been clocked at
speeds of up to 110 km/h (70 mph), which is the highest speed reliably
reported in a fish.
If this fish could travel on land, it can easily outrace a driver on a typical
freeway.
9. 10 FASTEST TRAIN
CRH380A
Location: China - Shanghai to Nanjing and Shanghai to
Hangzhou
Highest speed: 480kph (298mph)
Capacity: 494 passengers
The train resembles an ancient Chinese sword and was built by a
subsidiary of China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock
Corporation Limited (CSR), which is China's largest rail vehicle
maker.
“The super-speed train design resembled the design of China’s
10. 8.THE WORLD'S FASTEST HEARTBEAT
The world's fastest heartbeat belongs to hummingbirds
which generally have a heartbeat of over 1,200 beats per
minute while in flight.
It seems that the smaller the hummingbird, the faster it's
heart beat with a record 80 beats per second being
recorded on the tiny Amethyst Wood star.
It is not uncommon for small hummingbirds to average over
50 heartbeats per second.
11. 7 FASTEST MANNED AIRCRAFT
The North American X-15 rocket-powered aircraft was part of the X-
series of experimental aircraft, initiated with the Bell X-1, that were made
for the USAF, NASA, and the USN. The X-15 set speed and altitude
records in the early 1960s, reaching the edge of outer space and
returning with valuable data used in aircraft and spacecraft design. It
currently holds the world record for the fastest speed ever reached by a
manned aircraft. During the X-15 program, 13 of the flights (by eight
pilots) met the USAF spaceflight criteria by exceeding the altitude of 50
miles (80.47 km. 264,000ft.), thus qualifying the pilots for astronaut
status; some pilots also qualified for NASA astronaut wings. Its fastest
speed recorded is 4,519 mph (7,273 km/h) while manned by pilot Pete
12. 6.THE FASTEST SURGEONS OF ALL TIMES
The title of fastest surgeon of all times is generally credited to the
Scottish Robert Liston, who on December 21,1846 performed a
thigh amputation in 25 seconds from the first cut to the last stitch
There was a time, before the introduction of anesthesia, when
surgeons had to be faster than light, and surgical operations were
lasting few minutes at most.
This wasn’t always easy or pleasurable, and cases are reported
where, due to the excesses of a not very careful surgeon, the
mortality rate for the procedure was calculated as 300% (the
patient, the assistant, and an innocent bystander…).
13. 5 FASTEST WINDS
On May 3, 1999 as tornadoes ravaged Oklahoma scientists
measured the highest recorded wind speed at about 7:00 p.m.
near Moore, Oklahoma.
A wind speed of 318 mph was recorded where a tornado killed
four people and destroyed 250 homes. T
he fastest wind measured prior was 286 mph on April 26, 1991 in
a tornado near Red Rock, Oklahoma.
The 318 mph speed placed the tornado 1 mph below an F6 on
the 0 to 6 Fujita scale. No tornado has ever been classified as an
F6.
14. 4 FASTEST BIRD
The Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus), also known simply
as the Peregrine, and historically as the “Duck Hawk” in
North America, is a cosmopolitan bird of prey in the family
Falconidae.
It is a large, crow-sized falcon, with a blue-gray back, barred
white underparts, and a black head and “moustache”.
It can reach speeds over 322 km/h (200 mph) in a dive,
making it the fastest animal in the world.
15. 3 FASTEST SPACECRAFT
New Horizons is a NASA robotic spacecraft mission currently on route to
the planet Pluto.
It is expected to be the first spacecraft to fly by and study Pluto and its
moons, Charon, Nix, and Hydra. New Horizons was launched on 19
January 2006 directly into an Earth-and-solar-escape trajectory. It had
an Earth-relative velocity of about 16.26 km/s or 58,536 km/h (10.1 mps
or 36,360 mph) after its last engine shut down.
Thus, it left Earth at the fastest speed ever recorded. It will arrive at
Pluto on 14 July 2015 then continue into the Kuiper belt.
16. 2 FASTEST THING RECORDED
In modern physics, light is regarded as the fastest thing in the universe,
and its velocity in empty space as a fundamental constant of nature.
The speed of light in a vacuum is presently defined to be exactly
299,792,458 m/s (about 186,282.397 miles per second).
That’s basically the fastest thing the human species has ever
experienced today.
If you travel around the earth’s equator at the speed of light you will
travel around the entire planet earth 7.4 times in approximately one
second.
17. FASTEST CONSTRUCTION
construction-Chinese-built-30-storey-hotel-scratch-15-days
They're a 21st century super power with super computers and a super economy that's the envy of
the world.
Now China can claim another title - the fastest builders on the planet after putting up a 30-storey
183,000-square-foot hotel in just 15 days, or 360 hours.
A construction crew in the south-central Chinese city of Changsha completed this remarkable
achievement with no injuries to any worker. T
he Ark Hotel was built on Dongting lake, in the Hunan Province, by Broad Group, a Chinese
construction company which specialises in sustainable architecture.
It was built to withstand a magnitude 9 earthquake, as tested by the China Academy of Building
Research, who claim this is five times more quake-resistant than conventional buildings.
All the materials were prefabricated and sections built to specification off-site, so there was very
little wastage.
The builders took just 46 hours to finish the main structural components and another 90 hours to
finish the building enclosure.
19. FASTEST SNAKE
The black mamba (Dendroaspis polylepis), also called the
common black mamba or black-mouthed mamba, is the longest
venomous snake in Africa,
Averaging around 2.5 to 3.2 meters (8.2 to 10 ft) in length, and
sometimes growing to lengths of 4.45 meters (14.6 ft).
It is the fastest snake in the world, capable of moving at 4.32 to
5.4 metres per second (16–20 km/h, 10–12 mph).
It has a reputation for being aggressive and highly venomous and
is among the world's most venomous land snakes
20. 9 FASTEST WATER SLIDE
The Insano is the highest water slide in
the world at 41 meters high, a record
listed in the Guinness Book of Records.
Its height is equivalent to that of a 14-
story building. As a consequence of its
height and slope, this water slide
provides an extremely rapid descent –
taking between four and five seconds –
at a speed of 105 km/h (65mph).
Because of these characteristics, the
Insano is considered the most extreme of
this type of equipment on the planet.
At the end of the track, the Insano
provides you with a relaxing dive into the
swimming pool.
21. 1.SUPER LUMINOSITY
Tachyons are a putative class of particles which able to travel faster than
the speed of light.
Tachyons were first proposed by physicist Arnold Sommerfeld, and named
by Gerald Feinberg.
The word tachyon derives from the Greek tachus, meaning “speedy.”
Tachyons have the strange properties that, when they lose energy, they
gain speed.
Consequently, when tachyons gain energy, they slow down. The slowest

23. FASTEST SUBMERSIBLE
K-222, formerly K-162, was the only Papa ever constructed (“Papa” is the
western name for the Soviet Union’s Anchar submarine class).
It was laid down December 28, 1963, and commissioned on December 31,
1969, at Severodvinsk.
It was assigned to the Soviet Northern Fleet for the duration of its career. It was
the world’s fastest submarine, reaching a record speed of 44.7 knots on trials.
24. FASTEST HELICOPTER
Keep in mind that the maximum speed a rotor helicopter can reach, in theory,
before spinning out of control is just over 250 miles per hour.
Now that you know that, at an European air show on August 6, 1986 a Westland
Lynx ZB500, that was slightly modified, reached a speed of 249.1 miles per hour
or 400.8 km/h, making it the world’s fastest helicopter.
