The patient has paraparesis in both legs due to suspected metastasis of bone cancer or infection in the thoracic vertebrae T5, T7. A physical examination found reduced motor function and hipoesthesia in the right extremities from T8 down. Imaging showed multiple lytic and blastic lesions in the thoracic vertebrae T1-T8 suggestive of metastatic disease. A biopsy was recommended to confirm the diagnosis. The patient also has moderate protein-energy malnutrition and was prescribed a soft food diet of 500 calories plus nutritional supplements to increase calorie intake and address nutrient deficiencies.
