3. HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT
 General Manager of Human Resource Department at Bhilai Steel Plant is Mr. Saurabh
Sinha.
 During the training period; here in HRD we did the registration work which was
followed by Introduction of BSP and Safety Measures which have to be followed in
Plant.

4.  Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) is the flagship unit of Steel Authority of India Limited
(SAIL), a Government of India undertaking.
 Ten time winner of the Prime Minister‘s Trophy for Best Integrated Steel Plant in
country.
 It produces high strength rails, heavy structural, wide and heavy steel plates of
different grades, merchant products, wire rods etc.
 Bhilai became the first integrated steel plant in the country to surpass the 5 MT
mark in crude production in the year 2005-06.
 Bhilai has unique distinction of producing cleanest rail in the world.
 BSP produces world’s longest 130 meters rail in single piece and 260 meters long
rail welded panels.

7.  It is one of the major service shops which carries repair of all electrical machines
used inside the plant.
 There are approx. 42000 machines installed and running continuously in plant.
 Main purpose of this shop is to repair and reassembling electric motors and
manufacturing spare parts.
 It repairs motors , generators , welding and control transformers , welding
rectifiers and load lifting magnets.
 It also manufactures spare parts like contact materials , switches , busbar , main
pole and interpole coils of dc machine , primary and secondary coils of welding
and control transformers.
 It is subdivided into different sections which are winding section , assembly and
dismantling section , testing section , etc.

9. PLATE MILL
 It rolls out heavy and medium plates , as well as those for pipe manufacturers.
 It has capacity to produce high pressure, boiler quality and high tensile steels.
 It uses continuously cast slab as input.
 Some of the unique features of the mill are online finishing facilities and offline
normalising facilities.

12. Capital Repair and Modification (CRM)
 It repairs conductors used in the transmission lines used in plant.
 It also do installation work of transmission lines.
 It provides transmission line conductors to all the departments of Bhilai
steel plant.
 Different types of conductors are used for Bhilai steel plant.
