 An annual turnover of ₹ 51866 crore.
 One of the seven Maharatnas of the country's Central Public Sector

8. Electrical RepairShop
 One of the key shop in the plant
 For the repairment and maintenance of electric motors
installed in whole plant
 Around 40 thousand motors are installed in whole plant

9.  Electrical Repair Shop consists of different sections like Receive and
Computer section, Assembly Section , Winding Section , Coil section ,
Testing Section etc.
 main purpose of this shop is to repair the electric motors and after the
reassembling , it is sent back to the respective shops.

10. Power System Department
 Main purpose of this section is to monitor , control and distribute Power to
the whole plant
 Total of 280 MW load capacity in plant
 Seven Power system department to control electric power in plant
 Power is taken from three power plants i.e. PP1 , PP2 and PP3 .
 PP3 is a joint venture of SAIL and NTPC ( CSPDCL )
 Power is controlled using electric yards components

LIGHTNING ARESSTOR
A lightning arrester is a device used on electrical
power systems and telecommunications systems
to protect the insulation and conductors of the
system from the damaging effects of lightning.
The typical lightning arrester has a high-voltage
terminal and a ground terminal.
BUS BAR
In electric power distribution, a busbar (also bus bar, buss bar )
is a metallic strip or bar, typically housed inside switchgear, panel
boards, and busway enclosures for local high current power
distribution.

ISOLATOR
Isolator is an off-load device while, circuit breaker is
an on-load device. • Isolator is a switch operated
manually, which separate the circuit from the power
main and discharges the trapped charges in the
circuit.
CIRCUIT BRAKER
A circuit breaker is an automatically operated electrical switch
designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused
by excess current, typically resulting from an overload or
shortcircuit. Its basic function is to interrupt current flow after a
fault is detected

CAPACITOR BANK
A Capacitor Bank is a group of several capacitors of the
same rating that are connected in parallel with each other to
store electrical energy . The resulting bank is then used to
counteract or correct a power factor lag or phase shift in an
alternating current (AC) power supply

 Plates of wide variety, in any required size, and strength, chemical and
physical properties, can be produced here
 capacity to produce high pressure, boiler quality and high tensile steels
 Bhilai has the widest plate mill in the country, and it uses continuously
cast slabs as input.
