2. We use prepositions of movement to describe
where somebody or something is going & to give
directions.
For example,
• It is opposite the kingdom tower.
• It’s behind the old town of Riyadh.
• Go through Kingdom Tower to
Faisalya Tower.
• Go across the road.
• Where you are under the tree,
turn right and go into the tent.
5. Grammar – Subject and Verb agreement
• In a sentence we have to use the correct form of the verb to match
the subject. We use singular with singular and plural with plural.
For Example:
• The race begins at 3 pm.
• Last year’s winner is at the start of the race.
• The footballers play three times a week.
• Football and tennis are popular sports.

• How far is the … from the …?
• Is there a … around here?
• Could you tell me how to get to …?

• Pardon me, I’m lost. how do I get to …?

Giving Directions:
Go straight ahead.
Turn back./Go back.
Turn left/right.
Go along …
Cross …
Take the first/second road on the
left/right.
It’s on the left/right.
Go past.

It’s on the corner
It’s in the middle of the block.
