3. IPC Section 294
Offence
• Indecent act or singing bad words, in or near any public place, shall be
punishable.
Punishment ?
• With imprisonment of either three months, or with fine, or with both.
4. IPC Section 427
Offence
Causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees or any.—Whoever
commits mischief and thereby causes loss or damage to the amount of
fifty rupees or upwards, shall be punished.
Punishment?
With imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend
to two years, or with fine, or with both
5. IPC Section 505
Offence
Sending fake statements or rumour or news and creating a panic
situation among public.
Misguiding a pandemic situation by forwarding fake whatsapp
messages.
Punishment?
Which may extend to 3-6 years, or with fine, or with both.
6. IPC Section 264
Offence
Fraudulent use of false instrument for weighing. —Whoever
fraudulently uses any instrument for weighing which he knows to be
false shall be punished .
Punishment?
With imprisonment of either to one year, or with fine, or with both.
7. IPC Section 304B
Offence
Dowry death and seeking dowry is a punishable.
Within seven years of marriage by burns or any.
Punishment?
Minimum sentence of imprisonment for 7 years and a maximum
imprisonment for life.
8. IPC Section 41
Offence
Any police officer can arrest a person without an order from a
Magistrate and without a warrant, arrest any person.
Who has been concerned with a reasonable complaint made on him, or
credible information has been received, or with witness exists.
9. IPC Section 57
Offence
Person arrested not to be detained (custody) more than twenty- four
hours. No police officer shall detain in custody a person arrested
without warrant for a longer period ...
10. IPC Sections 146,147 and 148
Offence – Rioting
• Section 146 – Rioting, who causes severe damage or even death.
• Section 147 – Punishment for rioting. Whoever is guilty of rioting.
• Section 148 – Rioting, armed with deadly weapon.
Punishment?
Shall be punished with imprisonment of either for two years, or with
fine, or with both. It depends the sections they get arrested,
12. IPC Section 410
Offence
The possession whereof has been transferred by theft or by through
force or threats or by robbery and property which has been criminally
stolen is said to be punishable.
Punishment?
Imprisonment for 10 years or life time imprisonment, or fine.
13. IPC Section 302
Offence
Punishment for murder. Whoever commits murder shall be punished.
Punishment?
With death, or imprisonment for life, and shall also be liable to fine.
14. IPC Section 307
Offence
• A person shoots or tries to kill another person, under such
circumstances that, if death ensued. A would be guilty of murder.
Punishment?
It is liable to punishment under this section. not bailable
15. IPC Section 363 and 364
Offence – Kidnapping
• IPC Section 363 Kidnapping
• IPC Section 364 Kidnapping or abducting in order to cause murder.
• IPC Section 364A Kidnapping for ransom, etc
Punishment?
• Shall be punishable with death or imprisonment for life, and shall also
be liable to fine.
16. Important Insurance to know
Only very know this, if their gas cylinder blasts during the cooking of
food then the gas agency is liable to pay Rs. 50 lakh to the victim as
compensation.
Insurance claim may vary for each gas agency (Indian oil, HP, BP)
To claim this compensation consumers need to lodge an FIR to the
nearest police station and submit it to the concerned gas agency.
