A philosophy is a very personal concept. Each person who has lived has had a philosophy. A
philosophy dictates how one acts and conducts. Some better know this idea as a worldview. One?s
environment and culture have a large influence on their worldview and there actions display their

People often think they are people who have died and come back to haunt people still on the earth.
That is a very faulty concept. There is a spirit who is real and active today in the life of the
Christian. The Bible refers to Him as the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost. The study of the Holy Spirit is
called Pneumatology. This term is derived from two words in the Greek, pneuma meaning ?wind,? ?

As Christian educators, we are called to promote and support learning in those areas. True teaching
is a sharing of realities, likening the teaching process and weaving connections between their
teachings and understandings themselves and the world around them. If we do not make connections
for the students to the world around them, many times these precious gifts graced upon them will be
overlooked or passed by because the young minds may not be able to recognize them. Some areas of
observation might be seen as open doors to see or perceive and understand something of God and
His motion as reflected through the created world and the Bible. Other areas might be seen as open
doors to respond, apply, express and practice in ways that are consistent with biblical values. When
these areas are discovered and embraced, many times they can address the major developmental
needs in the spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, and emotional realms of the student's life.

philosophy. All theologists are philosophers but not all philosophers are theologists. Greek
philosophies had great impact on the early development of Christian thought. Much of the elements

the development of early Christian thought. The Greeks were tenacious in asking why and how
questions concerning those and things around them, and even about themselves. The main purpose

While reading the article "Socratic Christian Philosophy," I have come to the conclusion that
Socrates knows much about how to follow a god and how not sway away from his beliefs, but his
arrogance and god–like personality come in the way of that because at some points it seems as
though Socrates believes he is as high as god. David Talcott, the author of this article, even mentions
that he believes that Socrates may have a gift which makes him as divine as god. Talcott suggests

This voice is not a part of Socrates' thinking process but rather a voice bestowed onto him by the
gods and even if it was a part of his mental process, it is still a gift from a greater power. Talcott also
brings up the point that once Socrates receives instructions from god he will follow it through
completely like when he went on the mission to prove he was not the wisest of all men as god said
he was and he interrogated all of the wise men he could think of until coming up with the conclusion

In my future role as an elementary educator, I want to make sure I establish a classroom where each
student feels safe and supported, not only by me as a teacher, but by their peers as well. When each
student feels comfortable, they will be more eager and excited to learn and take risks in the
classroom.
Education is about cultivating growth. Growth can mean a variety of things for an elementary school
student. As an educator, I want to see my students grow in both knowledge and character.
Knowledge is crucial for students because it sets them up for success in the future. Each child's
future will be different; therefore, the purpose behind a student's academic education should be to
provide them with resources they need to succeed. The development of a student's character is
equally important because of the role it will play throughout an entire student's life. A student's
character determines the kinds of decisions they make that can have effects outside of the classroom.
For these qualities to be nurtured in students, classroom management needs to succeed in producing
an energetic, safe community where students are excited to learn from both their teacher and peers.
Successful classroom management allows a teacher to facilitate learning without unnecessary
distractions.

Evil can be categorized into two forms, moral evil and natural evil. Moral evil is brought about by
bad choices that stem from our free will. Natural evil is bad things that happen to people, whether

This would be similar to taking pieces out of a wooden wheel. The more slices that are removed, the
worse the wheel becomes, but it is still a wheel. Likewise a good person can become less good by
being corrupted, but he still exists as a person as long as there is some form of good left. This small
incorruptible good inside of us is like a piece of God in every living thing. Man can be corrupted
like this because we can make morally wrong choices that deprive us of good. This is due to our free
will. God created mankind with the ability to make choices based on our own wants; this is known

Throughout the history of Christianity, there have been many different ideas on how a Christian
should interact with the world in which they lived. From the biblical writings of The Gospel
according to Matthew, and The Acts of the Apostles, to the non–biblical writings of On Philosophy,
and The Prescription Against Heretics, the ideas of Christianity were brought together. The two
non–biblical documents highlight the arguments of whether or not Christians should study Greek
philosophy. The books from The Bible showed that Christian beliefs focused on how one should
primarily seek their ultimate reward or satisfaction in the Kingdom of God (spiritual), rather than in
the here and now (temporal). Christianity, as it began, was a faith that emphasized the importance of
acting charitable towards the less fortunate, while understanding that it was ones duty to worship
God and spread that love for Him to those who didn't believe. In the Gospel According to Matthew,
Jesus said, "Blessed are the poor, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven." When Jesus said this, he
showed how the Kingdom of Heaven was welcomed for anybody, not only those who were more
fortunate than others. Jesus then went on to explain how those who were humble and those who
showed righteousness would enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus also told the people how they

There are four theology sources of theology that is scripture, tradition, reason and religious
experience. The scripture is expounded with the context of public worship and is the subject of
meditation and devotion on the part of individual Christian (McGrath, 2011). Tradition is an active
process of passing on the Christian faith, rather than as a static source of revelation, independent of
Scripture (McGrath, 2011). Reason is assumed an especial importance at the time of the
Enlightenment (McGrath, 2011). Religion experience is an imprecise term. The origins of the word
are relatively well understood (McGrath, 2011). In this paper I will differentiate the different
theology sources that is important. And, what limitations they might have, also how they relate to
philosophy and Christian theology. Finally, some positive and negative relationship will be
discussed between the sources of Christian theology. The scripture is expounded with the context of

In Mark Greengrass's Christendom Destroyed, Greengrass looks at how Christianity has changed
throughout Europe. This change was a direct result of Martin Luther, the Ottoman Empire as well as

In Horrendous Evils and the Goodness of God , Marilyn McCord Adams uses another kind of
defense for theism. In this reading Adams argues that the problem of evil has been directed at theism
in general, which in this case has caused readers on either side of the debate to miss how important
and how unique Christianity is to the problem of horrendous evils on this view. She argues that
Christianity has a variety of unique tools that can meet the problem of evil more effectively when

Rather than jettisoning these types of answers, then, I think we would be best suited adding Adams'
defense to the many–faceted response to the problem of evil from Christian philosophers of religion.
My first objection is that she looks at the problem of evil as residing fundamentally in the finitude of
creatures. She says that the main hurdle to atonement lies not in what we as people do but what and

Anselm, sometimes thought of as the first philosopher of Christianity, practiced scholasticism, and
in his writings he attempted harmonizing faith and reason. A piece of writing he is author of is called
Meditation on Human Redemption. Anselm touches on a variety of topics in this writing. The three
major points this document covers are the concept of why God the Father is not able to simply

Anselm proposes the idea of the Treasury of Grace. He claims that there are different types of sin,
all requiring different 'amounts of grace'. This idea brings up the idea of limbo, the place where an
unbaptized baby goes who has committed no sins. This furthered on to support the idea of purgatory.
Anselm's view highly conflicts with Augustine's, who believed in the concept of original sin and that
it was passed down humanity, which is why babies would need to be baptized in the first place.
He goes on to say, "Immutable truth and plain reason then demand that whoever sins should give
something better to God in return for the honor of which he has deprived him, that is more than the
supposed good for the sake of which he dishonored him." So, humans were to repay God with

Is there a god that will take me in after I die? Does he judge me everyday based on my actions? This
event forced me to think more critically about the faith that I wanted to be associated with. For
others, it may be an event that causes them to become closer to the god they already believe in. An
example is getting married or having a child. These events allow people to praise the god they

human existence. However, if Christian educators will not involve God in the education of the
children to know the powerful author of all things, then their education is just limited to human
wisdom and understanding and not absolute. On the other hand, if Christian educators will guide
and lead students to learn and inquire from God aside from learning from their teachers, I believe
