2. INTRODUCTION
The importance of health education as been increasingly
realized during last three decades so much so that health
education has emerged as a specialty in itself.
The aim of the health education is to bring about a change
in health behavior of the people in such a manner that the
harmful health practice given up while good ones are
reinforced.
3. DEFINITION
Information:
Defined as to describe it as one(or)more statement or fact that is
received by a human which have some form of worth to him.
Education :
It is the process by which behavioral changes takes place in an
individual as a result of experience which he has undergone.
Communication:
It is a process of exchanges and sharing ideas feelings and
information.

1.Visit schedules:
Under IEC scheme the tour programs of health worker one
drawn as a weekly schedule rather than data wise calendar
schedule, new system attempts to make the visit regular, week
days in particular village. To establish a link between villager
and workers.
5. 2.TRAINING
Training should not only cover technical aspect of program but
also focus on problem solving skills of workers. This is possible
only when the worker is given training in the work situation by
their immediate supervisor at regular intervals. Training in this
project in conducted at sector PHC level and district level according
to a predetermined schedule.
3.Supervision:
Each supervisor during visit; records, target achievements, new
instruction are supervised.
4.Monitoring and evaluation:
Success of any program depends on ability to monitor and
evaluate program adequately and accurately and to take corrective
action if necessary.
6. Steps in developing IEC activities:
1. Conduct a needs assessment
2. Establish behavioral objectives that will contribute to achieve
the goal.
3. Identify potential barriers and ways of overcoming them.
4. Establish an evaluation plan.
7. Principles of health education :
1.The aim of health education is to bring about a change in
health behavior.
2. Health education is not an artificial teaching learning
exercise.
3. Health education should involve free discussion.
4. Do not give conflicting information.
5. Try to change only what needs to be changed.
6. Educator should make himself acceptable.
7. Use audiovisual aids wherever possible.

10. MASS MEDIA:
Mass media means technology that is intended to reach a
mass audience. It is the primary means of communication
used to reach the vast majority of the general public.
the most common platforms for mass media are
newspapers, magazines, radio, television, and the internet.
