VISIT OF 108 GVK EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE, KATHVADA
 We are 15 students of S.Y M.Sc Nursing students had visited the 108 GVK Emergency
Management And Research Institute on 22nd March, 2019 as a part of our Nursing
Management subject requirement.
 GVK EMRI (Emergency Management and Research Institute) is a pioneer in Emergency
Management Services in India. As a not – for – profit professional organization operating
in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode, GVK EMRI is the largest professional
Emergency Service Provider in India today.
 Ganupati Venkata Krishna Reddy, also referred to as Dr GVK Reddy , is the founder
chairman and managing director of GVK.
 The system that was put together in 2005 by the GVK Foundation in Hyderabad, like
minded philanthrophists and with huge aid from the Stanford Medical School has just one
goal in mind – “To rescue the countless people dying from treatable injuries and illness
simply because they had no way to get to a hospital in time.”
 This is highlighted by the scenario Ramana Rao, MD, DPH, director of EMRI’s
emergency medicine learning center and research stated, “Some people made attempts by
rickshaws, bullock cars, taxis, three-wheelers and sometimes bicycles. People would put a
cot on their shoulders and carry someone down from the top of the hill. Out of
desperation, they were using every mode of transportation. Poor people are dying for
simple reasons.

WHAT IT IS?
 The GVK EMRI (Emergency Management and Research Institute) is a centralized 911-
type network in which the general public can call a single number (108). A team of
trained professionals arrive to provide aid and emergency services on the way to the
hospital. The key being that within 15 minutes of a call the ambulance along with trained
ER workers reach the site of the accident and provide immediate critical care enroute to
the hospital.
 This service is spread across 15 states (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Uttarakhand,
Goa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh,
Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Kerala) and two Union Territories (Diu
Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli). With the help of this widespread initiative and
equipped with around 11,000 ambulances, over 45 million cases have been attended to
and over 1.5 million lives have been saved.

FIRST LAUNCH:
 The service was launched on a small scale in Hyderabad. The number 108 was chosen for
the toll-free service because it is considered an auspicious number in multiple religions
prevalent in India. The call center at Hyderabad today serves the 83 million people in the
states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. EMRI has replicated the network in 15 states
across a country with a population of 1.2 billion, the second most populous in the world.
It deploys five boat ambulances in the tea-producing state of Assam, in the country’s
northeast region, where the Brahmaputra, one of Asia’s major rivers, snakes through the
province. And there are ambulance rescues in the farthest reaches of the Himalayas, made
possible by the construction of roads to access patients.
AHMEDABAD EMRI CENTER, NARODA:
 GVK EMRI 108 emergency research institute had launched in 29 August, 2007
with 14 ambulances in Gujarat. First ambulance launched by Mr.Narendra Modi and
Mr.APJ Abdul Kalam in sola civil hospital, Ahmedabad.
 GVK EMRI 108 emergency research institute had launched in 2012 Khilkhilat
ambulances in Gujarat.
 GVK EMRI 108 emergency research institute had launched in 2018 108 mobile
application in Gujarat.
 Gujarat was the second state where the free emergency services were introduced. In a
decade, 108 ambulances have attended nearly 78 lakh emergencies , providing fire
related services to over 1 lakh calls and providing fire related services to over 5000
calls. Today an average of 3,200 to 3,500 patients are attended on a daily basis”, said
an EMRI official.
 Officials added that their paramedics have helped in over 75,000 childbirths and have
saved about 6.20 lakh lives through their operations. Out of 77.55 lakh calls on
108,10.77 lakh calls were received from Ahmedabad alone.
 The GVK EMRI (Emergency Management and Research Institute) is one of the most
important social initiatives of GVK. It is a non-profit organization based on Public
Private Partnership model. It attends to every emergency situation in the country; be it
a medical crisis, a law and order situation or a fire disaster. It provides services at par
with global standards and follows modern principles of management and leadership to
serve the nation.

DEPARTMENTS OF GVK EMRI:
ERC FLOOR: Emergency Response Centre. ( 24 × 7 open )
ERC floor had attend the emergency call and transfer that calls that particular department.
Departments:
1) 108: ERO : Emergency Response Office.
ERO department had attend the emergency call and fill up the caller’s detail within 2 min,
select victim’s nearby area 108 ambulance & and send the free ambulance to victim’s
location.
The team consists of
1. EMT – Emergency Medical Technician and
2. Pilot / Driver
2) ERCP: ( Emergency Response Center Physician )
 ERCP department has seat the doctors team for help the EMT , who are available at
24 × 7 hour at center.
 EMT had talk to doctors on phone for handle the victims problem.
3) POLICE : ( MLC Case, RTA 100 number ):
 At 100 police department had police are available , they receive the call in case of
Road Traffic Accident, and send the police to the victim’s location for MLC case.
 These police also maintain the fire station, they also contact the fire station nearby
the victim’s location & send the fire department to that area.
4) Operation Excellence Desk( OED )
OED desk worked for monitoring of the ambulances, EMT and pilot for providing
services. This desk doing the monitoring of all desk.
5) Case Closing Desk ( CCD )
CCD desk has worked for closing the case after provide the services. Mainly they work
for 181 helpline.
6) Training & Research Centre ( TRC )
 TRC centre provide the training to the EMT and pilot.
 Conduct the certified courses such as :

 AHA/ BLS
 ACLS
 Pediatric Advanced Life Support
 International Trauma Life Support
 Basic Life Support In Obstetric
 Advanced Life Support In Obstetric.
7) Pre Hospital Care Record :
 PCR department had worked for documentation of victims details.
 In the PCR form include all the basic detail of victims, his location, vital signs,
area of burns, if pregnancy condition include stages of labour, rupture of
membrane, date & time of birth, dilatation of cervix, show.
 In that form using coding system for fill this form in a minimum time.
 EMT has prepare the 3 copies of this form. One copy keep in 108 ambulqnce for
15 days, 2nd copy send to that particular govt.hospital for victims detail, 3rd copy
sent to the research centre.
8) Ananya Skill Station :
This department had provide the training to EMT and pilot.

1) ‘108’ EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICES:
 GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute (GVK EMRI), the major
corporate social responsibility arm of GVK, was established in April, 2005. It
provides integrated Emergency Response services in Public Private Partnership, with
a vision to support and build capabilities to promptly respond to millions of
emergencies and save lives nationally and establish GVK EMRI as a premier
Research and Training Institute.

 The guiding operational principle of GVK EMRI’s 108 service in Sense, Reach and
Care.
 Sense: Emergency victim/ attendant dial 108. Emergency Response Officer’ Screen
helps facilitate and scope emergency, assign strategically located ambulance
(Ambulance/ Police/ Fire).
 In the 108 ambulance has 2 perso .
 One has pilot who drive the ambulance. Who was also trained for first aid in case of
emergency.

 Reach: Ambulance(s) to reach the site/scene. .
 Care: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide passionate pre-hospital care
while transporting patient/ victim to appropriate hospital for stabilization. Emergency
Response Centre Physician (ERCP) advises patient care with the support of ERO,
EMT to ensure optimal pre-hospital care.
 In Partnership with 15 states (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Goa,
Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh,
Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh & 2 Union Territories
(Daman & Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli) operates 7,116 108 EMS Ambulances, with
more than 45,000 on roll employees. GVK EMRI started operation in Sri Lanka under
PPP mode on 28th July, 2016. The project is supported by GoI.
 750 M population covered in 15 States and Union Territories (increasing reach of
health care in rural, hilly & tribal areas).
 Till date 4.7 crore beneficiaries have availed these services, 4.38 lakh deliveries were
assisted and 18.56 lakh lives were saved since inception.
 PROGRESS OF GVK EMRI GUJARAT:
2) NEONATAL AMBULANCE:
 Neonatal Ambulances are launched in order to ensure emergency transfers for
neonates who require more specialist treatment at another hospital and also for
elective or ‘back’ transfers to transport recovering babies back to the hospital nearest
to their homes. It is primarily launched to reduce the Infant Mortality Rate as a part
of Millennium Development Goals. This specialized service is operated in Tamil
Nadu and Goa as a part 108 Emergency Response.
3) BOAT AMBULANCE:
 In order to improve response efficiency, as also reducing the scene to hospital time,
boat ambulances are operated in areas that are better accessible by waterways than
roadways. Boat ambulances operate as integral part of 108 Emergency Response
Service. This service has 2 boat ambulances in Gujarat, This service has 5 boat
ambulances in Assam and 1 in Uttarakhand to respond to Medical Emergencies and
referral transport serving to remote villages accessible through waterways.
4) INTER-FACILITY TRANSFER:
 The objective of these ambulances are to provide timely transportation to patients who
require next level of medical treatment in higher healthcare facility This facilitates an
integrated and comprehensive health care management providing high-end
ambulatory transportation for appropriate care.
 While 450 dedicated inter facility transfer ambulances are operated in Assam, special
initiative in some other states like Tamilnadu, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh,
Meghalaya has been dedicated for this purpose as a part of 108 Emergency Response
Service.

5) 104 MEDICAL HELPLINE:
 GVK EMRI is operating “104 Health Advice Helpline Services” in partnership with
Tamil Nadu and Administration of the Union Territories of Daman & Diu and, Dadra
& Nagar Haveli. More than 19 lakh calls were answered and advices have been given
to more than 5.5 Lakh beneficiaries till date.
6) DIAL 100 :POLICE EMERGENCYSERVICE:
 State wide Dial – 100 DG Command and Control Center was established and
operational by GVK EMRI for the state of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Dial 100
Project has also been implemented and operational in the state of Gujarat. Till date 8.5
crore calls were answered and 35.0 Lakh emergencies of various kinds had been
assisted.
7) 181 WOMEN HELPLINE:
 GVK EMRI in association with Government of Gujarat and Government of Uttar
Pradesh established and operating 181 Women Helpline. This 24*7 helpline known as
Abhayam in the state of Gujarat is supported by rescue vans with counselors and lady
constable. Till date responded to 1.75 lakh calls out of which more than 1.0 lakh
beneficiaries received counselling.
 The distress calls on 181 will be received by lady only so women can talk freely
regarding any issues. There is special 181 mobile Application also. In this application
a woman has to register and add her own name along with 5 other names, whom the
team can contact for additional help at the time of distress.

8) EMERGENCYMEDICALSTABILIZATION:
 The role and mission of ESC is to provide stabilization to patients/victims in the
Golden hour and ensure safe transport to the nearby tertiary hospital for definitive
care. These ESCs will ideally be located closer to accident hotspots and also in
geographies where facilities to treat medical emergencies are poor or don’t exist. The
choice of location is supported by authentic data, culled out from the databases of
GVK EMRI and Road Accident Data Management Systems (RADMS).
9) MOBILE MEDICAL UNITS:
 GVK EMRI operates 96 MMUs under PPP mode with the state government of
Gujarat & labor welfare dept. GVK EMRI also operates MMUs for NTPC, GRUH
finance, PI industries of Gujarat under their CSR initiative. The focus is on diagnostic,
curative and preventive health services. Maternal and Child health services and
treatment of common ailments are prioritized.
The other name for Mobile Health Unit is DhanvantariAarogyaRath. It consists of following

10) MOTHER AND CHILD TRACKING FACILITATAION CENTRE
( MCTFC):
 GVK EMRI established and operated 86 seater call center for more than 2 years
which is known as Mother and Child Tracking Facilitation Center with Govt. of India.
11) JANNI SHISU SURKHSHA YOJANA
 GVK EMRI operates ambulance under this scheme in Partnership with Andhra
Pradesh (Thalli Bidda), Assam (Adarani), Uttarakhand (Khushion Ki Sawari), Gujarat
(Khilkhilat), Chhattisgarh (Mahtari Express), Uttar Pradesh (National Ambulance
Services), Himachal Pradesh (National Ambulance Services) and Goa Governments
to ensure wholesome support for the mother and child by providing home to hospital
and drop back facility for mother and child to curtail IMR and MMR.
12) EMERGENCYMEDIACLLEARNING CENTRE :
 Emergency Medicine Learning Center wing of GVK EMRI, has been established with
an aim of creating new cadre of professionals for Emergency Management. GVK
EMRI has collaborations with institutions of international repute.
 There are few prominent training modules such:
 Paramedic-training,
 First Responder (FR) Training program, nurses training.
 General-Practitioner’s(GP’s)Training,
 Emergency Room physician training/ Intensives Training and also Working with
Communities and Community Workers (e.g., Anganwadi Workers, ASHA etc) in
Health and other sectors and also having capability of customized need based
training module and having infrastructure of 1.0 Lakh Sq. Ft. area to impart in-
house training.

13) 1962 ANIMAL MOBILE MEDICALAMBULENCE :
 GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute (GVK EMRI) has gone beyond
saving precious human lives by pioneering into an integrated Animal Mobile Medical
Ambulance through dial 1962 in the State of Tamil Nadu.

 First of its kind initiative integrated Emergency Medical Service for Animals, which
is scalable and replicable has become operational with a dedicated 24-hour
Emergency Response Centre and indigenously designed well equipped ambulances.
 The Animal Mobile Medical Ambulance (AMMA) was launched by (Late)
Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalitha on September 21, 2016.
With this launch, 10 ambulances became operational across 5 Districts of Tamil
Nadu, namely Kanchipuram, Thanjavur, Tiruchirappalli, Madurai and Namakkal with
each district having 2 ambulances.
 This project is under Public Private Partnership (PPP) framework with Government of
Tamil Nadu under the aegis of TANUVAS (Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal
Sciences University).
Process
 When a distress call from the livestock owner is received at the 24 hours 1962
Emergency Response Centre, basic details are collected and information disseminated
to the nearest Animal Mobile Medical Ambulance to the Caller. The Mobile
Veterinary Doctor in the Ambulance ascertains the type of emergency and either
provides Online Medical Direction (OLMD) or dispatches the ambulance. The
ambulance along with the Mobile Veterinary Doctor reach the door step of the
livestock owner, assess the condition of the sick cattle and provides on-site treatment.
In case the animal needs tertiary care, the decision to transfer the animal to the
Veterinary clinic is made.
 The 1962 Ambulances are completely equipped with Emergency Medicines,
equipment and State-of-the-art design including hydraulic Lift for transferring the
Sick Animal safely and swiftly to nearest appropriate Veterinary Hospitals / Clinics,
GPS tracking system to locate the nearest ambulance.
 1962 ambulances have enabled the Veterinary Health care system consistently to
enhance the life saved count of animals and bring cheers in the face of farmers and
livestock owners.
 As of May 2017, 1962 ambulance have so far saved over 2000 Animals. Of which
Cows from the majority. Owing to this stupendous success, Government of Tamil
Nadu has planned to expand the service to another 20 Districts of Tamil nadir as well.

  • 3.  We are 15 students of S.Y M.Sc Nursing students had visited the 108 GVK Emergency Management And Research Institute on 22nd March, 2019 as a part of our Nursing Management subject requirement.  GVK EMRI (Emergency Management and Research Institute) is a pioneer in Emergency Management Services in India. As a not – for – profit professional organization operating in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode, GVK EMRI is the largest professional Emergency Service Provider in India today.  Ganupati Venkata Krishna Reddy, also referred to as Dr GVK Reddy , is the founder chairman and managing director of GVK.  The system that was put together in 2005 by the GVK Foundation in Hyderabad, like minded philanthrophists and with huge aid from the Stanford Medical School has just one goal in mind – “To rescue the countless people dying from treatable injuries and illness simply because they had no way to get to a hospital in time.”  This is highlighted by the scenario Ramana Rao, MD, DPH, director of EMRI’s emergency medicine learning center and research stated, “Some people made attempts by rickshaws, bullock cars, taxis, three-wheelers and sometimes bicycles. People would put a cot on their shoulders and carry someone down from the top of the hill. Out of desperation, they were using every mode of transportation. Poor people are dying for simple reasons.   • 4. WHAT IT IS?  The GVK EMRI (Emergency Management and Research Institute) is a centralized 911- type network in which the general public can call a single number (108). A team of trained professionals arrive to provide aid and emergency services on the way to the hospital. The key being that within 15 minutes of a call the ambulance along with trained ER workers reach the site of the accident and provide immediate critical care enroute to the hospital.  This service is spread across 15 states (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Kerala) and two Union Territories (Diu Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli). With the help of this widespread initiative and equipped with around 11,000 ambulances, over 45 million cases have been attended to and over 1.5 million lives have been saved.   • 5. FIRST LAUNCH:  The service was launched on a small scale in Hyderabad. The number 108 was chosen for the toll-free service because it is considered an auspicious number in multiple religions prevalent in India. The call center at Hyderabad today serves the 83 million people in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. EMRI has replicated the network in 15 states across a country with a population of 1.2 billion, the second most populous in the world. It deploys five boat ambulances in the tea-producing state of Assam, in the country’s northeast region, where the Brahmaputra, one of Asia’s major rivers, snakes through the province. And there are ambulance rescues in the farthest reaches of the Himalayas, made possible by the construction of roads to access patients. AHMEDABAD EMRI CENTER, NARODA:  GVK EMRI 108 emergency research institute had launched in 29 August, 2007 with 14 ambulances in Gujarat. First ambulance launched by Mr.Narendra Modi and Mr.APJ Abdul Kalam in sola civil hospital, Ahmedabad.  GVK EMRI 108 emergency research institute had launched in 2012 Khilkhilat ambulances in Gujarat.  GVK EMRI 108 emergency research institute had launched in 2018 108 mobile application in Gujarat.  Gujarat was the second state where the free emergency services were introduced. In a decade, 108 ambulances have attended nearly 78 lakh emergencies , providing fire related services to over 1 lakh calls and providing fire related services to over 5000 calls.   • 10. Departments: 1) 108: ERO : Emergency Response Office. ERO department had attend the emergency call and fill up the caller’s detail within 2 min, select victim’s nearby area 108 ambulance & and send the free ambulance to victim’s location. The team consists of 1. EMT – Emergency Medical Technician and 2. Pilot / Driver 2) ERCP: ( Emergency Response Center Physician )  ERCP department has seat the doctors team for help the EMT , who are available at 24 × 7 hour at center.  EMT had talk to doctors on phone for handle the victims problem. 3) POLICE : ( MLC Case, RTA 100 number ):  At 100 police department had police are available , they receive the call in case of Road Traffic Accident, and send the police to the victim’s location for MLC case.  These police also maintain the fire station, they also contact the fire station nearby the victim’s location & send the fire department to that area. 4) Operation Excellence Desk( OED ) OED desk worked for monitoring of the ambulances, EMT and pilot for providing services. This desk doing the monitoring of all desk. 5) Case Closing Desk ( CCD ) CCD desk has worked for closing the case after provide the services. Mainly they work for 181 helpline.
  • 11. 6) Training & Research Centre ( TRC )  TRC centre provide the training to the EMT and pilot.  Conduct the certified courses such as :  First responder  AHA/ BLS  ACLS  Pediatric Advanced Life Support  International Trauma Life Support  Basic Life Support In Obstetric  Advanced Life Support In Obstetric. 7) Pre Hospital Care Record :  PCR department had worked for documentation of victims details.  In the PCR form include all the basic detail of victims, his location, vital signs, area of burns, if pregnancy condition include stages of labour, rupture of membrane, date & time of birth, dilatation of cervix, show.  In that form using coding system for fill this form in a minimum time.  EMT has prepare the 3 copies of this form. One copy keep in 108 ambulqnce for 15 days, 2nd copy send to that particular govt.hospital for victims detail, 3rd copy sent to the research centre. 8) Ananya Skill Station : This department had provide the training to EMT and pilot.

  • 14. 1) ‘108’ EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICES:  GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute (GVK EMRI), the major corporate social responsibility arm of GVK, was established in April, 2005. It provides integrated Emergency Response services in Public Private Partnership, with a vision to support and build capabilities to promptly respond to millions of emergencies and save lives nationally and establish GVK EMRI as a premier Research and Training Institute. Response Centre Physician (ERCP) advises patient care with the support of ERO, EMT to ensure optimal pre-hospital care.  In Partnership with 15 states (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh & 2 Union Territories (Daman & Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli) operates 7,116 108 EMS Ambulances, with more than 45,000 on roll employees. GVK EMRI started operation in Sri Lanka under PPP mode on 28th July, 2016. The project is supported by GoI.  750 M population covered in 15 States and Union Territories (increasing reach of health care in rural, hilly & tribal areas).  Till date 4.7 crore beneficiaries have availed these services, 4.38 lakh deliveries were assisted and 18.56 lakh lives were saved since inception.  PROGRESS OF GVK EMRI GUJARAT:
  • 16. 2) NEONATAL AMBULANCE:  Neonatal Ambulances are launched in order to ensure emergency transfers for neonates who require more specialist treatment at another hospital and also for elective or ‘back’ transfers to transport recovering babies back to the hospital nearest to their homes. It is primarily launched to reduce the Infant Mortality Rate as a part of Millennium Development Goals. This specialized service is operated in Tamil Nadu and Goa as a part 108 Emergency Response. 3) BOAT AMBULANCE:  In order to improve response efficiency, as also reducing the scene to hospital time, boat ambulances are operated in areas that are better accessible by waterways than roadways. Boat ambulances operate as integral part of 108 Emergency Response Service. This service has 2 boat ambulances in Gujarat, This service has 5 boat ambulances in Assam and 1 in Uttarakhand to respond to Medical Emergencies and referral transport serving to remote villages accessible through waterways.
  • 17. 4) INTER-FACILITY TRANSFER:  The objective of these ambulances are to provide timely transportation to patients who require next level of medical treatment in higher healthcare facility This facilitates an integrated and comprehensive health care management providing high-end ambulatory transportation for appropriate care.  While 450 dedicated inter facility transfer ambulances are operated in Assam, special initiative in some other states like Tamilnadu, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya has been dedicated for this purpose as a part of 108 Emergency Response Service. Dial 100 Project has also been implemented and operational in the state of Gujarat. Till date 8.5 crore calls were answered and 35.0 Lakh emergencies of various kinds had been assisted.
  • 18. 7) 181 WOMEN HELPLINE:  GVK EMRI in association with Government of Gujarat and Government of Uttar Pradesh established and operating 181 Women Helpline. This 24*7 helpline known as Abhayam in the state of Gujarat is supported by rescue vans with counselors and lady constable. Till date responded to 1.75 lakh calls out of which more than 1.0 lakh beneficiaries received counselling.  The distress calls on 181 will be received by lady only so women can talk freely regarding any issues. There is special 181 mobile Application also. In this application a woman has to register and add her own name along with 5 other names, whom the team can contact for additional help at the time of distress.   • 19. 8) EMERGENCYMEDICALSTABILIZATION:  The role and mission of ESC is to provide stabilization to patients/victims in the Golden hour and ensure safe transport to the nearby tertiary hospital for definitive care. These ESCs will ideally be located closer to accident hotspots and also in geographies where facilities to treat medical emergencies are poor or don’t exist. The choice of location is supported by authentic data, culled out from the databases of GVK EMRI and Road Accident Data Management Systems (RADMS).
  • 20. 9) MOBILE MEDICAL UNITS:  GVK EMRI operates 96 MMUs under PPP mode with the state government of Gujarat & labor welfare dept. GVK EMRI also operates MMUs for NTPC, GRUH finance, PI industries of Gujarat under their CSR initiative. The focus is on diagnostic, curative and preventive health services. Maternal and Child health services and treatment of common ailments are prioritized. The other name for Mobile Health Unit is DhanvantariAarogyaRath.   • 21. 11) JANNI SHISU SURKHSHA YOJANA  GVK EMRI operates ambulance under this scheme in Partnership with Andhra Pradesh (Thalli Bidda), Assam (Adarani), Uttarakhand (Khushion Ki Sawari), Gujarat (Khilkhilat), Chhattisgarh (Mahtari Express), Uttar Pradesh (National Ambulance Services), Himachal Pradesh (National Ambulance Services) and Goa Governments to ensure wholesome support for the mother and child by providing home to hospital and drop back facility for mother and child to curtail IMR and MMR. 12) EMERGENCYMEDIACLLEARNING CENTRE :  Emergency Medicine Learning Center wing of GVK EMRI, has been established with an aim of creating new cadre of professionals for Emergency Management.   • 23.  First of its kind initiative integrated Emergency Medical Service for Animals, which is scalable and replicable has become operational with a dedicated 24-hour Emergency Response Centre and indigenously designed well equipped ambulances.  The Animal Mobile Medical Ambulance (AMMA) was launched by (Late) Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalitha on September 21, 2016. With this launch, 10 ambulances became operational across 5 Districts of Tamil Nadu, namely Kanchipuram, Thanjavur, Tiruchirappalli, Madurai and Namakkal with each district having 2 ambulances.  This project is under Public Private Partnership (PPP) framework with Government of Tamil Nadu under the aegis of TANUVAS (Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University). Process  When a distress call from the livestock owner is received at the 24 hours 1962 Emergency Response Centre, basic details are collected and information disseminated to the nearest Animal Mobile Medical Ambulance to the Caller. The Mobile Veterinary Doctor in the Ambulance ascertains the type of emergency and either provides Online Medical Direction (OLMD) or dispatches the ambulance. The ambulance along with the Mobile Veterinary Doctor reach the door step of the livestock owner, assess the condition of the sick cattle and provides on-site treatment. In case the animal needs tertiary care, the decision to transfer the animal to the Veterinary clinic is made.  The 1962 Ambulances are completely equipped with Emergency Medicines, equipment and State-of-the-art design including hydraulic Lift for transferring the Sick Animal safely and swiftly to nearest appropriate Veterinary Hospitals / Clinics, GPS tracking system to locate the nearest ambulance.  1962 ambulances have enabled the Veterinary Health care system consistently to enhance the life saved count of animals and bring cheers in the face of farmers and livestock owners.  As of May 2017, 1962 ambulance have so far saved over 2000 Animals. Of which Cows from the majority. Owing to this stupendous success, Government of Tamil Nadu has planned to expand the service to another 20 Districts of Tamil nadir as well.
