2.  Assist in lifting and turning patients, transporting

beds between wards and departments.
 Transfer patients’ files and x-rays between
departments, specimens to laboratories.

bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos,
and shaves; assisting with travel to the
bathroom; helping with showers and baths.
 Provides for activities of daily living by assisting
with serving meals, feeding patients as
necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning
patients; providing fresh water and nourishment
between meals.

4.  Provides adjunct care by administering
enemas, douches, nonsterile dressings,
surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments,
sitz and therapeutic baths; applying
restraints.
 Maintains patient stability by checking vital
signs and weight; recording intake and
output information.

5.  Deliver and collect linen, diapers, rubbish,
infectious waste, specimens , equipment
 Maintain clean and prepare wheelchairs,
trolleys and other equipment.
 Attend emergency cardiac arrest calls, fire and
other urgent situations within the hospital,
grounds and patient restraint.
