Zombie Cosmetics
In today's world, there is nothing more popular than zombies. They are featured everywhere, on television shows, movies, and even on commercials.
There are even popular apps, such as The Walking Dead's, Zombify Yourself app, which allows anyone to look like a zombie. Whether it is for a
costume party, trick–or–treating, or for just plain fun, turning into a zombie is a must – at least once. However, recreating the zombie look is not easy,
unless the proper makeup is used.
Gathering the Proper Supplies
Before venturing off into zombie land, it is important to gather the proper tools to recreate the look. Common items found in zombie makeup and
costumes include:

To create this look, use shades of blue or green in areas of the body that would naturally hollow out. Good places to add shading include around the
eye sockets, cheeks, nose, jaw line, and collarbones.
Step 4: Add Blood
A good zombie always feature blood, be it a little or a lot. Add a little bit of blood with a paintbrush or makeup brush around the mouth and nose. To
add blood splatters to clothing, splatter on with a paintbrush. Continue applying blood until satisfied.
Step 5: Styling the Hair
Although zombies do not have perfect hair, it is important to complete this step for the overall look. Depending on the desired look, you can apply
conditioner or oil to make the hair look unkempt and stringy. You could also apply colored grey hairspray to signify that the hair is dying. Whatever
you decide to do ensure the hair is messy and unkempt.

Personal Narrative: The Zombie Apocalypse
When I was mad and wanted to kill people and then it was the zombie Apocalypse. I found people a lot of people ,and they said can I join you. I said
yes if you follow my lead and follow my rules and everything will be all good.
Then I wanted to go to a house. A big house ,so we can all live in the house and their is about 10 of us. So we can't find zombies.
In the morning we had to go get supplies. So we can have food and drinks. Also bandages and first aid kits and also other kind of thing like weapons so
we can fight off the zombies. We need to kill all of the zombies ,so the world can go back to normal and it would probably be us only alive and the only
to do that if we nuke the world. If we went to go to Washington D.C

Zombie Apocalypse Research Paper
(QUAD CITIES – 7, November, 2016) Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse is something that everyone should know how to do and Joe Zombie explains
just that in his Ded talk at the I–Wireless Center.
"Don't get shot in the head, let them shoot you in the body. If you are shot in the leg than you can't walk, but if you are shot in the arm you will be fine,"
Zombie says that this is the most important thing to know as you are trying to survive during the Apocalypse. Zombie talked to a group of other
zombies at the I–Wireless Center and he made it pretty clear that you will survive as long as you listen to him. Little did the group of zombies know
that he had a different plan for them.
Everything was going great until Joe Zombie decided to reveal the

Creative Writing: A Zombie Apocalypse
Three crew members on a naval battle ship were about to face the undead. They we under attack by an enemy that was not alive. The three met up as
they were running down a hall with zombies reaching for their ankles. The hallways were all linked to one room; the ammunition and supply room.
Erik is a man who went crazy from loneliness because he was locked inside the ammo room a day before the outbreak. He was already in the ammo
room before the others. It has been twenty–one days since the outbreak and he has sat in a corner for a majority of it. He rarely ventures out of his
corner where his rifle friends lie up against the wall staring at him. When he does crawl out, it is only to grab some canned food. Erik cries almost
hourly and when he does start crying, he never stops.

"Hey are you alright little guy?" Bane said softly.
The crying got worse *loud crying noises*
"Okay, okay, calm down; we are not here to hurt you. We just need to know who you are."
"Eeerr–wwwik" as the man of the floor cried a little more. Bane and Hex glance at each other for a brief second and say at the same time–––
"Erik?" The little man on the floor shakes his head as he cradles a little more. The boys look at each other again and say, "Well what are we going to do
with him?"
"Scoop him up and stand him on his feet Hex, let's see who this Erik man is." Erik stands up struggling from muscle weakness. Hex is by his side
waiting for orders.
"Now what Bane? I'm not going to stand here holding up someone who can barely talk."
"Hold on a second Hex. I'm trying to see if he has what it takes. Now, can you please shut up." Eriks legs start to twitch uncontrollably.
"Yeah, yeah, tough guy. What are you? A psychic. Get out of here

Chuck Palahniuk's Zombie
"If you don't know what you want, you end up with a lot you don't." – Chuck Palahniuk. The short story Zombie is a perfect example of this quote. So
often as humans no one really knows what we want in life, we go to college for a job just to make money, not necessarily because it's something we
are passionate about. In the short story Zombie, there are many examples of not knowing what characters want so they do something drastic to get away
from it all, which initially leads to something they don't want and cannot change. Some of these things we don't want could be small changeable things
and things that we are not able to change anything about. In Chuck Palahniuk's Zombie, the imagery of depression is used to create characterization

This character was portrayed as smart, however, not happy. He wanted something more. "Zombie" compares it to Shakespeare's "To be or not to
be" and that those people thought they only had two options. Griffin (the starting character) wanted to be and not to be, but at the same time. This
is why he did what he did, Shock himself with the AED. After the Griffin, students followed this new trend. With shocking themselves they were
mentally disabling themselves. Everyone was calling it 'turning themselves into zombies.' As stated above, Trevor lives with his uncle due to
having diseased parents. His uncle decides that moving him to a different school will be better off for him so he doesn't take on this trend and
hurt himself. While at the airport the character is looking in a mirror while in the restroom, he then says "My uncle asked me, one time, why I
looked in mirrors so much, and I told him it wasn't vanity so much as it was nostalgia. Every mirror shows me what little is left of my parents."
After saying this he goes on to talk about which parts of his face look like which parent. When looking in the mirror he notices the AED light in the
background. During the story not once did this character mention wanting to try or even that he was considering doing this, however, he went and
grabbed the cardiac defibrillator. He started peeling everything off and sticking them to himself. He then says "Every time I open the newspaper I
want to throw up. In another 10 seconds, I won't know how to read. Better yet, I won't have to." The goes with the beginning when he is talking about
how no one ever covers the issue that is going around the school. Before he makes any permanent decisions, he tells how he thinks about his uncle at
the gate, and says he deserves better than this. With everything stuck to him, he carries the defibrillator

The Horror Of The Zombie
Without question, in today's society the most favored monster in pop culture is the modern day zombie. The symbolic nature of zombies alone, is the
reason that the undead are the most successful in movies today. From these monsters creating a state of war to confiscating humanity's normal
everyday life. These movies show us the result of an unknown situation; "How will human beings react to an end–of–time apocalypse scenario?"
Beginning with the Haitian zombie in the 1930's, the zombie has evolved to its modern state alongside the psychological state of society.
Zombies originated in Haiti from a belief that witch doctors could create a hypnotic slave through magic, a potion, or hypnosis (Lockhurst). The
zombie first appeared in "White Zombie," a cinematic venture from an independent film company in 1932. The result of this movie consisted of
insulting reviews even from a modern day critic, Matt Bruson, who said, "The supporting cast is awful and the low budget dictates a few moments
worthy of MST3K ribbing. But the atmosphere of dread is pungent, the use of sound is inspired, and the makeup by the great Jack Pierce and Carl
Axcelle is minimal but effective ("White)." The box office produced different results than predicted by the critics.
Critics did not help advertise the film "White Zombie," but the viewers didn't seem to care. Upon release, the movie sold a record of 16,728 tickets in
Cleveland, Ohio alone, which was considered a high grossing film in its time

The Threat Of A Zombie Apocalypse
The topic of the undead coming back to life to feast on the living has been around since the first zombie movie White Zombies in 1932; however,
just in the past few decades has the threat of a zombie apocalypse enter the realm of international politics. The threat of a zombie apocalypse is a
very serious concern of the international communities. Many political scientists are not sure how the world leaders would be able to work together if
this issue were ever to arise in the world today. In the book "Theories of International Politics and Zombies", Drezner uses the threat of a zombie
apocalypse to show how the different theories of international politics would eliminate the threat; however, are the living dead a real international
concern or are they just a brilliant metaphor for something much greater that could happen to the world.
There are many political theories in the world today. Drezner addresses how realism, liberalism, constructivism, neo–conservatism, and bureaucratic
politics would face the threat of a zombie apocalypse throughout his book. Each theory presented with the possibility of a world where the dead
walk amongst the living and feed on their flesh, and then Drezner would elaborate on how each political theory would unfold if the world were to
decide to pursue that particular political theory. This elaboration helps us determine if the world could even survive a zombie apocalypse. Although
many people would ask is the threat of a zombie apocalypse even a

Social Anxiety: The Zombie Movement
Social anxiety caused the the zombie movement to gain a lot of movement between the late twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty first
century. In this time frame, zombies were no longer the spawn of Voodoo, a black magic that traditionally turned the dead under control of a Voodoo
master. Additionally, zombies started to shift , going against the concept of zombies being dead people, to people infected with a virus. Zombies
between this time were able to evolve into fast agile, crafty, and otherwise smart monsters. This is a major change mostly occurred because of
society's fear, like pandemics and biological warfare. "Although zombies are fictional, they comment and respond to the real" This is a quote by Todd
K. Platts, in "Locating... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just as some psychiatric disorders may be intensified modulations of ordinary feelings like fear, so, too, whole societies may suffer from intensified
fears, especially if their mass media stimulates such feelings. .... may be the neurotic cultural response of a paranoid society (Asna 239)
The evolution of zombies due to social anxiety is most noted after the attacks on 9/11. Since a greater sense of anxiety arose post 9/11, zombies in
the twenty first century took advantage and adapted to the social anxiety after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. A perfect example is the movie "28 Days
Later" directed by Danny Boyle.
"28 Days Later" tells a tale about a "Rage" virus who turns the infected into zombies. The outbreak occurred when a group of animal rights activist
freed a chimp from a medical lab who who had "Rage". London bike courier, Jim Murphy, wakes up from a coma weeks after the outbreak to
discover that the city is in shambles. While on the run for survival, Jim finds others survivors, who ultimately make a group and continue a journey to
stay alive. The fear created in this film, is the fear of biological or chemical warfare. The zombies in "28 Days Later" essentially are more realistic than
earlier twentieth century films. In turn, society gains more anxiety from the zombie of the early twenty first century. In "Book of the Dead" by Jamie
Russell, it explains the post 9/11 social anxiety that is created by the fear of warfare. Russell

A Zombie Apocalypse
A zombie apocalypse is a terrifying thing to imagine, but with an effective, well–thought–out emergency plan civilization can be better prepared for
this catastrophe. As chief of police and fire, we are imbedded with the responsibility of help and guidance to citizens during this time of crisis. Our main
priorities would be evacuation, communication, public safety, and crime prevention.
As chief of police and fire, we would recommend all citizens make their way to one of our military safe zones, or shelters, and wait for evacuation.
We will evacuate citizens based on need. The elderly, injured, and disabled will be our first priority of getting out of the city. Since they will be the
least fit to protect themselves and others in case of emergency, it is essential to have help from caregivers and family members when transporting
those less fortunate. Evacuation will happen during daylight hours to minimize possible complications. Furthermore, no more than fifty people will
be evacuated at a time to help keep evacuations as safe and quick as possible. We will evacuate citizens by plane to nearby uninfected cities and
further plans for survival will be discussed upon their arrival. If citizens choose to evacuate on their own, we recommend they travel east or west by
car or plane. That being said, we highly recommend that all of our citizens choose our method of evacuation. This will keep infection, injuries, and
casualties low so all of our citizens can have the best chance

a constant trend in the zombie genre that constantly reminds humans of the destroying quality and uncontainable nature of diseases. Free movement

paranoia and panic. With real threats of swine flu and ebola infection making front page news, zombies were no longer depicted as slow, mindless

Zombie Apocalypse Speeches
Whenever you talk about the zombie apocalypse you run into the zombie nerds who declare that they would survive the zombie apocalypse. And I
don't really think so.
Think about it: Even in the most optimistic zombie universes only 10% of the population survives. And most books love the 1% number so much
better. Which means at a maximum only 1 out of 10 is going to survive. Most books I've read are far less optimistic.
Furthermore, I think the initial outbreak is what will get most of the zombie nerds. Our reaction to a person acting outside the norm of society is not
to bash their head in with a baseball bat. And that is how we would fail. We would assume it was just someone who needed help and by then it would
be too late. Bitten. Game over.

How many of us really have the talents necessary to survive: shoot a gun, physical stamina, outdoor skills, shoot a crossbow, first aid skills and

love zombie run, but I'm only going around the lake while listening to it. Zombies will pursue far longer than that. And they are relentless. And my
outdoor skills are limited too. Sure I can make a rudimentary shelter and start a fire and I may be able to find some native plant life I can eat

Real-Zombie Parasites
Dark, cold graveyard, full of dead people and suddenly, you hear a scratching sound coming out of a grave. You think what's happening, then wham it
opens, sounds rush to your head and you run, never looking back. And no, this is not going to be a best seller zombie romance story or whatever you
thought it was going to be. Real–Zombies are actually starting to show up in insects. The parasites inside the insects are taking control of their hosts
and well making them into zombies.
Zombies are generally considered anything that is dead and comes back to life. Unlike the zombies from movies, insects have been taken over by
small parasites that lurk inside their body and are forced to bad things. This news has started to become the front page for most scientists, parasites
have started to mostly show up in bees taking control of them and killing the bees afterwards," 'They fly around in a disoriented way, get attracted to

Zombie Symbolism Essay
Zombies are the metaphor for the violence, fear, and atrocities of the modern world. These mindless creatures are the popular symbol representing the
living dead; with their empty–headed behaviors and their oozing brains, they are the main contributor to the ever–developing market of science and
fantasy that is without a glass ceiling. In today's society, zombies can be considered the focal point of our fear–obsessed environment, literally and
figuratively. However, this ever–expanding market has society curious purely based off of the inherent restrictions of the zombie population. When

As anxieties within the public become more complex and evolved, the zombie culture infects the aspects that our world is so desperately dependent on,
"The spread of the living dead reflects a variety of anxieties in the American body politic buffeted by asymmetric threats and economic uncertainty"
(Drezner 825). Looking through a psychological lens, anxieties embody random and unpredicted emotions and fears that are almost uncontrollable. So,
when the zombie culture embodies such feelings, one cannot help but associate the two and fear not only the task of dealing with said anxieties, but the
overwhelming fear of zombies themselves. As depicted through many forms of media, especially through narratives, zombies are unconscious bodies
that perform actions not related to any logic or reasoning. The critical threats that enthrall the public's attention in today's society are those that do not
even originate from a conscious actor, but ones that are considered impersonal and remote, such as a virus. With these nontraditional threats now
embodying the zombie persona, the appropriation of zombies solidifies the cultural significance to a greater extent. With zombies becoming an intricate
reoccurrence within today's media, it is almost impossible to ignore their significance, "It should be pointed out, however, that constant references to the

Zombie Apocalypse Legislation Although some might think the zombie apocalypse is a far–fetched idea spawned from a doomsday prepper's wildest
dreams, it is actually a highly likely scenario which should be considered with a sober mind. Based off other sicknesses which have arisen in recent
and older times, such as Ebola, the black plague, and cholera, we can see that without the right preventative and emergency measures, any sickness can
return after any amount of time in a stronger and different form harder to beat than the last time. In order to prevent massive outbreaks like these from
happening, which might resurrect corpses that start eating the living, California needs to enact legislation that protects everyone from zombies. In the
event of a zombie apocalypse, California needs to declare martial law, create quarantines for those doomed to die, restrict anyone from leaving or
entering the state, strip away the basic human rights of the zombies, and commence mandatory dental procedures.
In order to protect the citizens of California from the walking dead as well as widespread panic and anarchy, martial law needs to be enacted. Martial
law would be extremely helpful because it allows habeas corpus to be suspended for a limited amount of time (Neocleous, 2014). While this would be
a very bad thing in times of peace, it would be extremely beneficial in case of the zombie apocalypse. Civilians would need to have a curfew to

Not only do Zombies raise disputes concerning consciousness, but they also raise questions about other elements of people. The philosophical
zombie problem is one of the most compelling and nightmarish of all the philosophical problems. It cuts to the heart of how we relate to the

people going through a set of motions as if they were a real person, we do very often relate to someone going through the motions of trying to help us

Zombie Apocalypse Alternate Ending
Brian's bright green eyes looked up at the dead ones looking down at him, seeing the zombie's face coated in pleasure as she slid up and down along

Classification of Zombie Movies Essay
I have determined that there are three different types of zombie movie. First, the movies that showcase the slow, but still startling zombies, like Night
of the Living Dead. Night's "zombies are slow, the humans just get themselves into trouble by reacting stupidly, or not paying enough attention to the
problem." (G.A. Romero) Next, films like Shaun of the Dead, which portray the sometimes amusing but still creepy zombies. And finally, movies like
Day of the Dead (2008) which introduce the completely terrifying, gravity–defying zombies.
Night of the Living Dead presents zombies that move slowly but deliberately toward their ultimate objective which is filling their appetites for human
flesh. Zombie movies of this type are the basis of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although Shaun can't bring himself to kill Ed, the danger his infected friend presents, is still clear when Shaun must chastise Ed for trying to bite
his arm. Shaun's zombies are provided with more of a human element, which lends more to the hilarity of the situation. "In my mind they were us,
we've just changed, that's all." (G.A. Romero) Seeing a zombie that is wearing a towel obviously stricken undead in the middle of a shower makes
this type of movie funnier and more tragic at the same time. While humor is obviously present the gore zombie movies are famous for is also a key
element. Zombie comedy is also shown in Zombieland, which is a laugh riot from beginning to end. From the main character's list of "survival rules"
which include always checking the backseat and being wary of bathrooms, the story is more about the humans that remain and their fight to stay human.
Finally, the films that make you really fear zombies. Movies like Day of the Dead, (the 2008 remake, not G.A. Romero's original) which portray
zombies that seem to be aware of their surroundings and can do their own brand of problem solving. Day's zombies while still driven by the primal
instinct of hunger, can figure out ways of getting to their prey that zombies in movies with less of a freak out factor do not even begin to grasp and

Humans a marvelous specie, capable of transforming their environment to suit them; turning deserts to urban paradise, vast empty plots into
homesteads, our building reach the skies, roads connect us, hunger is a thing of the past. Nevertheless, what if a deadly virus happens to afflict the
United States, what if the virus turned humans into undead hungry abominations?
For instance, the first problem as with any disease is the velocity at which it spreads; unlike the flu virus that silently infects thousands, causing
relatively minor fear, a zombie virus spreads to millions in a matter of days provoking havoc and disruption wherever it goes. Where areas the flu

Zombie Apocalypse Disasters
There are all kinds of emergencies that we can prepare for; a zombie apocalypse is one of them. Zombies may be fictional, but natural disasters are a
very real concern in which we would take the same precautions. To prepare for those kinds of outbreaks, you should have a well structured plan.
During a disaster such as a zombie apocalypse, shelter is a vital part in surviving. With zombies running rampant across the city, we must have a safe
and secure shelter for all citizens to hide out until the apocalypse is over. With that being said, what kind of building should we provide, and where
should these types of shelters be placed? These buildings will be placed underground, so that the zombies are unable to reach the citizens and resources

Cell phones and the internet will quickly become useless. This leaves Amateur Radios as the most reliable form of communication in a disaster.
Amateur Radios, also known as ham radios, are able to work on a frequency that cannot be taken down due to towers falling or electricity failing.
Through these, you can communicate with other groups that are functioning far away from you. There is also a list of emergency radio
frequencies that are extremely useful in case of a disaster. For example, frequency 39.46 is use or state police forces, 154.28 is used for the fire
department, and 462.675 is used for a General Mobile Radio Service. This can also be used to communicate with other groups and task forces within
the town. It is possible to do so by sending inter–departmental messages to the frequencies above. By sending these messages you can not only
communicate to the leaders of each group, but can also communicate to the public. Communication is a vital resource to use in the survival of a zombie

Evolution Of Zombie Movies
1. Introduction Zombie movies have haunted movie theater screens since the 1930s. Yet, the definition of 'the zombie' has changed since the
beginning of the new millennium. While a few decades ago, zombies were described as dead people who escaped their graves and started walking the
earth again, new movies have altered that definition and now "[...] include still–living characters infected with an incurable disease that extinguishes
their personalities and turns them into bloodthirsty killers" (Kay 1), or "[...] dead people who are still alive, and driven to kill and cannibalize the
living" (McAlister 460). Especially these new zombies, still–living, yet infected humans, "[...] fast runners and swift climbers, [who] think nothing of

The Pros And Cons Of A Zombie Genre
The world became obsessed with zombies, leaving monsters like Dracula and Frankenstein far behind. With "The Walking Dead" premiering its first

am Legend, World War Z all set the bar for thezombie genre in the entertainment industry, and Isaac Marion surpassed that bar. With his book,
Isaac Marion added a new twist to the ever growing zombie genre by having a zombie narrator. The zombie genre became very popular as early as
2004 and is still popular to this day, and to release a novel in this genre, it had to be unique, something the audience has not seen before. Isaac Marion

The humdrum of normal life gets infected with the infected with little to know details about why or how it happened. The only scientific conclusion
drawn in the shows 6 seasons is that as soon as you die, bitten or unbitten, you turn. The zombies in this show are more traditional. They are normal

The only way to stop the bite from infecting a victim is immediate amputation. The main protagonist is human ex–cop Rick and his gang of survivors.
The clear antagonists are the zombies. However, as the series progressed past the initial years of the apocalypse the zombies almost become a
background threat to the human villains that pop up and wreak havoc. Having human and zombie's antagonists is the only thing these two shows

The Word Zombie
The meaning of the word zombie has shifted in public perception rather drastically a number of times over the last fifty years largely as a result of
their rise in popularity in the zeitgeist. What we think of as zombies today are largely myth of course, but there is a grain of truth. It dates back to the
8th century, (possibly earlier according to some speculation in fact) the word 'zombie ' is said to have come from nzambi, which in Kongo means 'spirit
of a dead person ', or zonbi, used in the Louisiana or Haitian Creole that represents a person who died and was then brought to life without speech or
free will. For the purposes of this paper I'll be tracing the Haitian route. (Zombies: A Living History) As it is told by Haitian folklore the Bokors,
Voodoo (the actual pronunciation is closer to vodoun) priests that concentrated on the study and application of black magic, possessed the ability to
resurrect the deceased and control them as they will. This of course was a special kind of nightmare for slaves in this country for it meant that not even
death could release them from their enslavement, they were trapped.
We can see this postulated here in Amy Wilentz' article "Suicide was the slave 's only way to take control over his or her own body ... And yet, the
fear of becoming a zombie might stop them from doing so ... This final rest – in green, leafy, heavenly Africa, with no sugarcane to cut and no master
to appease or serve – is unavailable to the zombie. To

A Zombie Manifesto
Juliet, Sarah, and Karen Embry. A Zombie Manifesto: The Nonhuman Condition In The Era Of Advanced Capitalism. 1st ed. 2008. Print. The zombie
has been described as one of the most dominant monsters in films towards the end of the twentieth century. It has always resurfaced in British and
American films in the last five years. The essay explores zombies from historical times to the living dead zombie of a modern film who seems to be
most common in the real world. Reading about the zombie as a haunting object reveals a crisis of human personification, that is, the way power works
and man's history of oppression to others. The essay also attempts to proclaim the future possibility that the zombie could be post–human in future since
it is mindful. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The zombie is now depicted as a slave and capitalist–worker but also the consumer who is trapped within the moral concept that assures the survival
of the system. A difference also has to be considered between the zombie and the slave. A justification of slavery is seen as an endeavor of slavery
and an attempt to shift the burden of human necessity. It is said that the zombie and the slave are subject to pure necessity, but the slave is performing
another person's labor like a machine while the zombie works for no one and only produces more zombies (Allthingszombie.com 96–101).
REAL LIVE ZOMBIES The corpses of a zombie represents the inseparable character of human existence. It is the lifeless state that we must return.
The corpse has the ability to scare by implication but the living corpse may frighten since it represents both our future and present. The zombie is like
most monsters with various kinds of bodies. However, it illustrates the real threat of the human body. The zombie terrifies as a representation of the

White Zombie Apocalypse
Anyone paying attention has had the privilege of seeing the rotting, disheveled, missing limb creature inhabiting society in a sensational way. Dating
back thousands of years, zombies were integrated into American society with "[the] depiction of the zombie from 19th–century Haitian voodooism"
(Crockett, 2016) leading to the zombie epidemic existing today. The dawn of the dead has reigned from as early as the 1930s and now a spin–off
concept has emerged. A zombie apocalypse has influenced modern day media such as movies, TV shows and videogames: reflecting the viewers worst
fears and adapting the generation.
The first recorded zombie film White Zombie (1932) told a tale of a white couple who had an encounter with a Haitian voodoo master. During these
years, spiritualism was at its highest White Zombie stroke America's worst fear of voodoo aiming to destroy love. Many films proceeded White
Zombie, all carrying the same infectious fear of witchcraft. It wasn't until the 1940s that zombies no longer began to reflect the fear of voodoo but of

Zombie Pop Culture
Zombies have been a pop culture icon for years. Whether it be video games like Call of Duty or making people feel nervous for a potential zombie
apocalypse, the zombie has become one of the most recognizable pop culture figures. The rise of zombies as a frightening creature can be related a
real–world issue. In this essay I will argue that zombies have changed over time and that there is a distinct connection between the way zombies are
portrayed and the way the world looks at the lower economic class. First off, zombies have a unique history. The first part of this exclusive history is
that zombies have a few originating points with places ranging from ancient past times to well known movies. According to an archaeological study
conducted at Michigan State University the word "zombie" was first used in the eighth century within an African Tribe called Kongo. In the Kongo
Tribe whenever someone said "zombie" they were referring to the spirit of a dead person. The Kongo's then believed that the spirit of the dead
person would come back and haunt the tribe thus producing fear among them. Many people all around the world still have that belief today where
the spirit of a deceased person will come back and haunt them. Zombies have helped people express that belief. Since the Kongo Tribe launched
zombies they have only continued to get bigger and soon after many more historical tribes started to believe in zombies and have helped elevate the
story of zombies to where

complex problems in order to catch their human prey, in reality, however, they are simply humans who have been infected, killed and reanimated by a
virus. Yet, "...when is it appropriate to say someone's 'as–good–as–dead,' which is an awful, difficult decision (Source A)?" Sadly, azombie may bear

highly populated areas, zombies are a little harder to escape. Regardless due to the behavior of these zombies, the international community would

Zombie Apocalypse Strengths And Weaknesses
Would we survive?
If the zombie apocalypse was to occur right now, would I be able to survive with the people in my group? Would my whole group be able to
survive? In my group, there are three people: Brianna, Makendra, and me. Let's evaluate my group as individuals and as a whole group to determine
whether or not we would make a good team or not.
The first person in my group that I will evaluate is Brianna. Some of her strengths are that she is always aware of her surrounds and she is a quick
thinker. Both of these make her a very good person to add to the group because it makes her very useful under the stressful time. She next told us
that another strength of hers was that she is short, so she would be able to hide in places that others could not. I am however, skeptical of this
strength because where as it seems useful, there are some draw backs. Some weaknesses she has is that she is short, so she would not be able to run
very fast. She is also a very organized person, which normally would not be bad. But during the zombie apocalypse when everything is crazy; she
would most likely have a panic attack. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

who has seen a lot of movies about the zombie apocalypse, so she would have to best chance of knowing where we need to start. Some of Makendra's

Zombie Lore Analysis
Since the modern zombie's inception in George Romero's "Night of the Living Dead" (1968), the famous creature has consistently explored humanity's
innate desire to control others as well as commenting on humans losing their humanity. The genre has evolved rapidly throughout the decades,
transitioning from voodoo culture tropes to a zombie spin on Richard Matheson's I Am Legend (1954), and eventually, to satirical and sociopolitical
commentary. The concepts of superiority and the loss of virtue are definitely applicable to our most basic state of human nature and are most
effectively displayed in zombie lore. The Loss of Humanity and the Flourish of Desire In Zombie Lore Exercising dominance over another is a fairly
prevalent theme in zombie culture. In Suzanne Lea's article "Modern Zombie Makers: Enacting the Ancient Impulse to Control and Possess Another,"
she compares zombie lore, culture, and psychological boundaries to the horrific atrocities committed by infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. Lea's
summarization of the crimes of Dahmer are very disturbing to the average individual, yet when viewed from a natural instinct perspective, the
murderer's intentions make a little more sense. Dahmer craved possession, superiority, and dominance so much that he kidnapped, tortured, raped, and
mutilated many innocent people. According to Lea's article, Dahmer attempted to create a "living" zombie that would submit to his desires, yet avoid
any attempt to

Zombie Cosmetics

  • 1. Zombie Cosmetics In today's world, there is nothing more popular than zombies. They are featured everywhere, on television shows, movies, and even on commercials. There are even popular apps, such as The Walking Dead's, Zombify Yourself app, which allows anyone to look like a zombie. Whether it is for a costume party, trick–or–treating, or for just plain fun, turning into a zombie is a must – at least once. However, recreating the zombie look is not easy, unless the proper makeup is used. Gathering the Proper Supplies Before venturing off into zombie land, it is important to gather the proper tools to recreate the look. Good places to add shading include around the eye sockets, cheeks, nose, jaw line, and collarbones. Step 4: Add Blood A good zombie always feature blood, be it a little or a lot. Add a little bit of blood with a paintbrush or makeup brush around the mouth and nose. To add blood splatters to clothing, splatter on with a paintbrush. Continue applying blood until satisfied. Step 5: Styling the Hair Although zombies do not have perfect hair, it is important to complete this step for the overall look. Depending on the desired look, you can apply conditioner or oil to make the hair look unkempt and stringy. You could also apply colored grey hairspray to signify that the hair is dying. I said yes if you follow my lead and follow my rules and everything will be all good. Then I wanted to go to a house. A big house ,so we can all live in the house and their is about 10 of us. So we can't find zombies. In the morning we had to go get supplies. So we can have food and drinks. Also bandages and first aid kits and also other kind of thing like weapons so we can fight off the zombies. We need to kill all of the zombies ,so the world can go back to normal and it would probably be us only alive and the only to do that if we nuke the world. If we went to go to Washington D.C ... Zombie Apocalypse Research Paper (QUAD CITIES – 7, November, 2016) Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse is something that everyone should know how to do and Joe Zombie explains just that in his Ded talk at the I–Wireless Center. "Don't get shot in the head, let them shoot you in the body. If you are shot in the leg than you can't walk, but if you are shot in the arm you will be fine," Zombie says that this is the most important thing to know as you are trying to survive during the Apocalypse. Zombie talked to a group of other zombies at the I–Wireless Center and he made it pretty clear that you will survive as long as you listen to him. Little did the group of zombies know that he had a different plan for them. Everything was going great until Joe Zombie decided to reveal the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The three met up as they were running down a hall with zombies reaching for their ankles. The hallways were all linked to one room; the ammunition and supply room. Erik is a man who went crazy from loneliness because he was locked inside the ammo room a day before the outbreak. He was already in the ammo room before the others. It has been twenty–one days since the outbreak and he has sat in a corner for a majority of it. He rarely ventures out of his corner where his rifle friends lie up against the wall staring at him. When he does crawl out, it is only to grab some canned food. Erik cries almost hourly and when he does start crying, he never stops. Bane is a tall, stocky man with a body builder physique. "Eeerr–wwwik" as the man of the floor cried a little more. Bane and Hex glance at each other for a brief second and say at the same time––– "Erik?" The little man on the floor shakes his head as he cradles a little more. The boys look at each other again and say, "Well what are we going to do with him?" "Scoop him up and stand him on his feet Hex, let's see who this Erik man is." Erik stands up struggling from muscle weakness. Hex is by his side waiting for orders. "Now what Bane? • 5. Chuck Palahniuk's Zombie "If you don't know what you want, you end up with a lot you don't." – Chuck Palahniuk. The short story Zombie is a perfect example of this quote. So often as humans no one really knows what we want in life, we go to college for a job just to make money, not necessarily because it's something we are passionate about. In the short story Zombie, there are many examples of not knowing what characters want so they do something drastic to get away from it all, which initially leads to something they don't want and cannot change. Some of these things we don't want could be small changeable things and things that we are not able to change anything about. In Chuck Palahniuk's Zombie, the imagery of depression is used to create characterization and a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This character was portrayed as smart, however, not happy. He wanted something more. "Zombie" compares it to Shakespeare's "To be or not to be" and that those people thought they only had two options. Griffin (the starting character) wanted to be and not to be, but at the same time. This is why he did what he did, Shock himself with the AED. After the Griffin, students followed this new trend. With shocking themselves they were mentally disabling themselves. Everyone was calling it 'turning themselves into zombies.' As stated above, Trevor lives with his uncle due to having diseased parents. His uncle decides that moving him to a different school will be better off for him so he doesn't take on this trend and hurt himself. While at the airport the character is looking in a mirror while in the restroom, he then says "My uncle asked me, one time, why I looked in mirrors so much, and I told him it wasn't vanity so much as it was nostalgia. Every mirror shows me what little is left of my parents." After saying this he goes on to talk about which parts of his face look like which parent. When looking in the mirror he notices the AED light in the background. During the story not once did this character mention wanting to try or even that he was considering doing this, however, he went and grabbed the cardiac defibrillator. He started peeling everything off and sticking them to himself. He then says "Every time I open the newspaper I want to throw up. In another 10 seconds, I won't know how to read. Better yet, I won't have to." The goes with the beginning when he is talking about how no one ever covers the issue that is going around the school. Before he makes any permanent decisions, he tells how he thinks about his uncle at the gate, and says he deserves better than this. With everything stuck to him, he carries the defibrillator ... • 6. The Horror Of The Zombie Without question, in today's society the most favored monster in pop culture is the modern day zombie. The symbolic nature of zombies alone, is the reason that the undead are the most successful in movies today. From these monsters creating a state of war to confiscating humanity's normal everyday life. These movies show us the result of an unknown situation; "How will human beings react to an end–of–time apocalypse scenario?" Beginning with the Haitian zombie in the 1930's, the zombie has evolved to its modern state alongside the psychological state of society. Zombies originated in Haiti from a belief that witch doctors could create a hypnotic slave through magic, a potion, or hypnosis (Lockhurst). The zombie first appeared in "White Zombie," a cinematic venture from an independent film company in 1932. The result of this movie consisted of insulting reviews even from a modern day critic, Matt Bruson, who said, "The supporting cast is awful and the low budget dictates a few moments worthy of MST3K ribbing. But the atmosphere of dread is pungent, the use of sound is inspired, and the makeup by the great Jack Pierce and Carl Axcelle is minimal but effective ("White)." The box office produced different results than predicted by the critics. Critics did not help advertise the film "White Zombie," but the viewers didn't seem to care. Upon release, the movie sold a record of 16,728 tickets in Cleveland, Ohio alone, which was considered a high grossing film in its time ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Threat Of A Zombie Apocalypse The topic of the undead coming back to life to feast on the living has been around since the first zombie movie White Zombies in 1932; however, just in the past few decades has the threat of a zombie apocalypse enter the realm of international politics. The threat of a zombie apocalypse is a very serious concern of the international communities. Many political scientists are not sure how the world leaders would be able to work together if this issue were ever to arise in the world today. In the book "Theories of International Politics and Zombies", Drezner uses the threat of a zombie apocalypse to show how the different theories of international politics would eliminate the threat; however, are the living dead a real international concern or are they just a brilliant metaphor for something much greater that could happen to the world. There are many political theories in the world today. Drezner addresses how realism, liberalism, constructivism, neo–conservatism, and bureaucratic politics would face the threat of a zombie apocalypse throughout his book. Each theory presented with the possibility of a world where the dead walk amongst the living and feed on their flesh, and then Drezner would elaborate on how each political theory would unfold if the world were to decide to pursue that particular political theory. This elaboration helps us determine if the world could even survive a zombie apocalypse. Although many people would ask is the threat of a zombie apocalypse even a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Social Anxiety: The Zombie Movement Social anxiety caused the the zombie movement to gain a lot of movement between the late twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty first century. In this time frame, zombies were no longer the spawn of Voodoo, a black magic that traditionally turned the dead under control of a Voodoo master. Additionally, zombies started to shift , going against the concept of zombies being dead people, to people infected with a virus. Zombies between this time were able to evolve into fast agile, crafty, and otherwise smart monsters. This is a major change mostly occurred because of society's fear, like pandemics and biological warfare. "Although zombies are fictional, they comment and respond to the real" This is a quote by Todd K. Platts, in "Locating... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since a greater sense of anxiety arose post 9/11, zombies in the twenty first century took advantage and adapted to the social anxiety after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. A perfect example is the movie "28 Days Later" directed by Danny Boyle. "28 Days Later" tells a tale about a "Rage" virus who turns the infected into zombies. The outbreak occurred when a group of animal rights activist freed a chimp from a medical lab who who had "Rage". London bike courier, Jim Murphy, wakes up from a coma weeks after the outbreak to discover that the city is in shambles. While on the run for survival, Jim finds others survivors, who ultimately make a group and continue a journey to stay alive. The fear created in this film, is the fear of biological or chemical warfare. The zombies in "28 Days Later" essentially are more realistic than earlier twentieth century films. In turn, society gains more anxiety from the zombie of the early twenty first century. • 9. A Zombie Apocalypse A zombie apocalypse is a terrifying thing to imagine, but with an effective, well–thought–out emergency plan civilization can be better prepared for this catastrophe. As chief of police and fire, we are imbedded with the responsibility of help and guidance to citizens during this time of crisis. Our main priorities would be evacuation, communication, public safety, and crime prevention. As chief of police and fire, we would recommend all citizens make their way to one of our military safe zones, or shelters, and wait for evacuation. We will evacuate citizens based on need. The elderly, injured, and disabled will be our first priority of getting out of the city. Since they will be the least fit to protect themselves and others in case of emergency, it is essential to have help from caregivers and family members when transporting those less fortunate. Evacuation will happen during daylight hours to minimize possible complications. Furthermore, no more than fifty people will be evacuated at a time to help keep evacuations as safe and quick as possible. We will evacuate citizens by plane to nearby uninfected cities and further plans for survival will be discussed upon their arrival. If citizens choose to evacuate on their own, we recommend they travel east or west by car or plane. That being said, we highly recommend that all of our citizens choose our method of evacuation. This will keep infection, injuries, and casualties low so all of our citizens can have the best chance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Think about it: Even in the most optimistic zombie universes only 10% of the population survives. And most books love the 1% number so much better. Which means at a maximum only 1 out of 10 is going to survive. Most books I've read are far less optimistic. Furthermore, I think the initial outbreak is what will get most of the zombie nerds. Our reaction to a person acting outside the norm of society is not to bash their head in with a baseball bat. And that is how we would fail. We would assume it was just someone who needed help and by then it would be too late. Bitten. Game over. Real-Zombie Parasites Dark, cold graveyard, full of dead people and suddenly, you hear a scratching sound coming out of a grave. You think what's happening, then wham it opens, sounds rush to your head and you run, never looking back. And no, this is not going to be a best seller zombie romance story or whatever you thought it was going to be. Real–Zombies are actually starting to show up in insects. The parasites inside the insects are taking control of their hosts and well making them into zombies. Zombies are generally considered anything that is dead and comes back to life. This news has started to become the front page for most scientists, parasites have started to mostly show up in bees taking control of them and killing the bees afterwards," 'They fly around in a disoriented way, get attracted to light, and then fall down and wander around in a way that's sort of reminiscent of zombies in the movies,' ... These mindless creatures are the popular symbol representing the living dead; with their empty–headed behaviors and their oozing brains, they are the main contributor to the ever–developing market of science and fantasy that is without a glass ceiling. In today's society, zombies can be considered the focal point of our fear–obsessed environment, literally and figuratively. As anxieties within the public become more complex and evolved, the zombie culture infects the aspects that our world is so desperately dependent on, "The spread of the living dead reflects a variety of anxieties in the American body politic buffeted by asymmetric threats and economic uncertainty" (Drezner 825). Looking through a psychological lens, anxieties embody random and unpredicted emotions and fears that are almost uncontrollable. So, when the zombie culture embodies such feelings, one cannot help but associate the two and fear not only the task of dealing with said anxieties, but the overwhelming fear of zombies themselves. As depicted through many forms of media, especially through narratives, zombies are unconscious bodies that perform actions not related to any logic or reasoning. The critical threats that enthrall the public's attention in today's society are those that do not even originate from a conscious actor, but ones that are considered impersonal and remote, such as a virus. With these nontraditional threats now embodying the zombie persona, the appropriation of zombies solidifies the cultural significance to a greater extent. With zombies becoming an intricate reoccurrence within today's media, it is almost impossible to ignore their significance, "It should be pointed out, however, that constant references to the ... Zombie Apocalypse Legislation Cherise Thompson POSC 399 – 03 Policy Paper Zombie Apocalypse Legislation Although some might think the zombie apocalypse is a far–fetched idea spawned from a doomsday prepper's wildest dreams, it is actually a highly likely scenario which should be considered with a sober mind. Based off other sicknesses which have arisen in recent and older times, such as Ebola, the black plague, and cholera, we can see that without the right preventative and emergency measures, any sickness can return after any amount of time in a stronger and different form harder to beat than the last time. In order to prevent massive outbreaks like these from happening, which might resurrect corpses that start eating the living, California needs to enact legislation that protects everyone from zombies. In the event of a zombie apocalypse, California needs to declare martial law, create quarantines for those doomed to die, restrict anyone from leaving or entering the state, strip away the basic human rights of the zombies, and commence mandatory dental procedures. In order to protect the citizens of California from the walking dead as well as widespread panic and anarchy, martial law needs to be enacted. Martial law would be extremely helpful because it allows habeas corpus to be suspended for a limited amount of time (Neocleous, 2014). Zombie Apocalypse Alternate Ending Brian's bright green eyes looked up at the dead ones looking down at him, seeing the zombie's face coated in pleasure as she slid up and down along his length. He had already managed to make one of them cum, but she was now lying along his legs, not allowing him to get back up, while the other two females, looking down at him with a mixture of hunger and lust, had his arms pinned to the floor. • 20. Classification of Zombie Movies Essay I have determined that there are three different types of zombie movie. First, the movies that showcase the slow, but still startling zombies, like Night of the Living Dead. While humor is obviously present the gore zombie movies are famous for is also a key element. Zombie comedy is also shown in Zombieland, which is a laugh riot from beginning to end. From the main character's list of "survival rules" which include always checking the backseat and being wary of bathrooms, the story is more about the humans that remain and their fight to stay human. Finally, the films that make you really fear zombies. Movies like Day of the Dead, (the 2008 remake, not G.A. Romero's original) which portray zombies that seem to be aware of their surroundings and can do their own brand of problem solving. • 31. The Word Zombie The meaning of the word zombie has shifted in public perception rather drastically a number of times over the last fifty years largely as a result of their rise in popularity in the zeitgeist. What we think of as zombies today are largely myth of course, but there is a grain of truth. It dates back to the 8th century, (possibly earlier according to some speculation in fact) the word 'zombie ' is said to have come from nzambi, which in Kongo means 'spirit of a dead person ', or zonbi, used in the Louisiana or Haitian Creole that represents a person who died and was then brought to life without speech or free will. For the purposes of this paper I'll be tracing the Haitian route. (Zombies: A Living History) As it is told by Haitian folklore the Bokors, Voodoo (the actual pronunciation is closer to vodoun) priests that concentrated on the study and application of black magic, possessed the ability to resurrect the deceased and control them as they will. This of course was a special kind of nightmare for slaves in this country for it meant that not even death could release them from their enslavement, they were trapped. We can see this postulated here in Amy Wilentz' article "Suicide was the slave 's only way to take control over his or her own body ... In the Kongo Tribe whenever someone said "zombie" they were referring to the spirit of a dead person. The Kongo's then believed that the spirit of the dead person would come back and haunt the tribe thus producing fear among them. Many people all around the world still have that belief today where the spirit of a deceased person will come back and haunt them. Zombies have helped people express that belief. The genre has evolved rapidly throughout the decades, transitioning from voodoo culture tropes to a zombie spin on Richard Matheson's I Am Legend (1954), and eventually, to satirical and sociopolitical commentary. In Suzanne Lea's article "Modern Zombie Makers: Enacting the Ancient Impulse to Control and Possess Another," she compares zombie lore, culture, and psychological boundaries to the horrific atrocities committed by infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. Lea's summarization of the crimes of Dahmer are very disturbing to the average individual, yet when viewed from a natural instinct perspective, the murderer's intentions make a little more sense. Dahmer craved possession, superiority, and dominance so much that he kidnapped, tortured, raped, and mutilated many innocent people. According to Lea's article, Dahmer attempted to create a "living" zombie that would submit to his desires, yet avoid any attempt to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
