Test report of Z axis vibration measurement on test slab 7 July 2008
1. Introduction
Vibration tests were carried on a test slab. Each test was carried out for a 30 minute vibration
measurement and extrapolated to 8 hours duration, assuming the same conditions were applied. The
test results were compared with the ISO2631 standard of human comfort vibration test of 8 hours,
and reduced limit of -10dB for more sensitive conditions such of residential and office environment.
The test results were carried out for these conditions:-
• Ambient measurement with no activity on the slab
• Measurement with one person walking
• Measurement with one person running
• Measurement with five persons walking
• Measurement with five persons running
2. Test condition
The accelerometer was located at the middle of the slab for measurement.

4. Conclusion
Based upon these test results and extrapolated for 8 hours, the vibration levels are below the
ISO2631 reduce comfort limits for 8 hours limit. The slab main resonant frequency is 13 Hz.

based upon 8 hour chart vibration exposure and taking the upper limits at –10 dB lower for the

During the test, seismic vibration equipment which measures +/-3G from DC to 80Hz was also used
to cross check the tests. The results are plotted for acceleration in acceleration (mm/sec²) vs. Time
(sec) and the spectrum is plotted to give the resonant frequency. All the plots shows that the resonant
frequency peaks at 13Hz.
