We train you to excel in a
variety of administrative
positions, including:
•	 Office Support Worker
•	 Administrative Assistant
•	 Administrative Officer
Funding provided by the
Government of Canada
through the Canada-British
Columbia Job Fund.
Training
Get the training you need to secure sustainable
employment in office administration.
•	 3 weeks of hands-on, in class training
in essential skills targeted toward
administration positions
•	 2 weeks of Microsoft Office and office
administration training
•	 8 days of job search training and certifications
including First Aid and WorldHost Customer
Service
•	 3 weeks of job search workshops, including
resumé and cover letter writing, networking,
social media marketing (LinkedIn) and
interview skills
Practicum
3-week work practicum with local employers and
placement services to assist participants in finding
suitable employment.
follow-up
12-week follow-up after program ends.
•	 No fee to participate
•	 9-week skills training
•	 3-week professional practicum
•	 Follow-up support for an additional 12 weeks
•	 In-demand professional certifications
•	 Access to other YWCA program supports

a FREE 12-week program
that prepares women for
sustainable employment
in office administration.
We provide you with
relevant administrative
and technological skills
to meet the demands of
current and emerging
business environments.
You are eligible to participate in YWCA Admin
Essentials if you are:
•	 Unemployed, and able to participate in a
full-time program and practicum
•	 Currently not receiving Employment
Insurance / have not received Employment
Insurance in the last three years
•	 A Canadian citizen, permanent resident or
confirmed refugee status
•	 Legally entitled to work in Canada
•	 Living in the Lower Mainland/Southwest
British Columbia
