Google began working with Yubico in 2009 to develop strong two-factor authentication after Google was targeted by sophisticated cyber attacks. They co-created the FIDO U2F authentication standard, which uses a single YubiKey to securely log into multiple online services without sharing private keys. After a two-year evaluation, Google confirmed YubiKeys best met their security and usability needs. Google now uses YubiKeys for over 50,000 employees and integrates support for YubiKeys into security protections for all Google users.
