JACKS AND ANTS IN THE
WORLD OF ACES AND
GRASSHOPPERS
What is Innovation?
Innovation is the creation, development and
implementation of a new product, process or
service, with the aim of improving
efficiency,effectiveness or competitive
advantage..
What is the importance of
Innovation?
Innovation is one of the most important and most complex issues
organizations face today. It brings color into our otherwise prosaic
life. Innovation is the key to success for any ‘body’
Difference between Innovation and
Creativity?
The main difference between creativity and innovation is the focus. Creativity is about
unleashing the potential of the mind to conceive new ideas. Those concepts could manifest
themselves in any number of ways, but most often, they become something we can see, hear,
smell, touch, or taste. However, creative ideas can also be thought experiments within one
person’s mind.Creativity is subjective, making it hard to measure, as our creative friends
assert.
Innovation, on the other hand, is completely measurable. Innovation is about introducing
change into relatively stable systems. It’s also concerned with the work required to make an
idea viable.
Importance of
Innovation in an
organization
Innovation is one of the most
important concerns of each
organization and its role in the
development and coordination of
the market is absolute. One can
‘create’ on their own but in an
organization one can never
innovate alone. It goes as per the
old African saying “It takes a
village to raise a child” for an idea
is the child to be promoted to be a
product.
Innovation is about people, ones
who are passionate about what
they do and want to drive change.
People are the backbone of
innovation. And that’s exactly the
reason why it’s also so difficult.
Most people only innovate when
they have to. It’s a conjecture that
innovation is just a pastime activity
when there is no urgency for it. No
one in the world of grasshoppers
appreciates the ant until its winter.
Why is Innovation so
hard?
Who can be an Innovator?
Innovators are the persons having a creative mindset, a desire to solve challenges and
the courage to bend the traditional circuits. Innovation is about people, ones who are
passionate about what they do and want to drive change. People are the backbone of
innovation. And that’s exactly the reason why it’s also so difficult. Most people only
innovate when they have to. It’s a conjecture that innovation is just a pastime activity
when there is no urgency for it. No one in the world of grasshoppers appreciates the ant
until its winter. Anyone can innovate, regardless of age, nationality, position or gender.
What if you fail?
Failure is a necessary part of innovation management. Innovation is the result
of iterative learning processes and environments that encourage diversity,
unconventional thinking, critical inquiry, debate and teams with complementary
capabilities. Be a wise man and learn from your mistakes, and then rise from
the ashes like a phoenix.
THANK
YOU
