In the case of Wuornus, a forensic psychologist could have examined her RAP sheet to determine if she was a threat to society. She was arrested for several crimes, including armed robbery and assault. In the biosocial age, criminologist now have access to genetic and brain imaging data. I think it would have been worth assessing her for schizophrenia. She stated that the men she killed either raped her or attempted to rape her until she was executed. Presentation of the Problem
Ryan is a 61 year old Caucasian male who was arrested for violating a no-contact orderwith his ex-husband and two adopted sons. Police were called when he attempted to “break in” to the family home to obtain some personal belongings. While at the home, his ex-husband returned and a physical altercation ensued in which Ryan allegedly attacked his ex-husband with a kitchen knife. No injuries were noted by police; His ex-husband, however, expressed intent to press assault charges. The circumstances surrounding the no-contact order are related to a series of incidences involving allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior with his children. Six months before, a long history of marriage conflict “came to a head” and he informed Ryan that he wished to file for divorce. Ryan’s ex-husband left the home with their two sons and filed a no-contact order against Ryan. The basis of the no-contact order included allegations that Ryan had a “secret life of sex addiction,” including frequent activity on “sex apps” and that he viewed pornography in front of their two sons. The ex-husband also alleged Ryan’s inappropriate relationship with their oldest son, 16 year old, citing that he discovered sexually-provocative language in text messages. A Child Protective Services Investigation and report was completed. Ryan adamantly denies these allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior with and in front of the children; He did however, verify he had been active on “sex apps” throughout the relationships in order to “hook up” with other men.
Psychosocial History
Ryan was born and raised in rural Mississippi. He comes from an intact family and is the youngest of four children. He referenced a narrative within the family that characterized him as the “unplanned pregnancy.” Ryan described a “good childhood” and he denied a history of emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. He graduated from college and has had a successful career as an insurance broker.
When Ryan was age 9, his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.She passed away four years later. This event caused tremendous emotional pain. After his mother’s death, his father began using alcohol heavily and eventually received voluntary inpatient treatment. Ryan reported a strained relationship with his father and a sense of rejection after he told his father he was homosexual. He experienced significant inner emotional conflict as an adolescent related to his sexuality. He began to seek sexual contact with others and by age 17 was having sex with men for money. He does not believe he has a sexual addiction and denied any compulsive sexual .

The issue of domestic violence continues to pose a major threat to the wellbeing of many individuals and families. Apart from the physical scars that can arise due to assault, victims also end up having to contend with many emotional, psychological, and mental unbalance because of the abuse. Domestic violence counselors from different parts of the world work relentlessly to understand the underlying dynamics of this issue in order to help the affected people lead healthy and fulfilling lives. Examining these counselors’ perceptions, views, perspectives, attitudes and experiences of dealing with the victims and perpetrators of domestic violence can thus shed light into the magnitude and nature of this vice. It can also aid in successful completion of the dissertation project, which aspires to answer the research question: “How do counselors dealing with domestic violence victims perceive and describe their client’s experiences of victimization?” The purpose of this literature review is to identify recurrent themes or patterns within published research dealing with the issue of counselors’ perceptions of domestic violence. Some of the themes to be addressed in the review includesinclude counselors’ perceptions on the role of gender in domestic violence cases, their perceptions on the causes of domestic violence, their views on victim/perpetrator characteristics as well as their perspectives on the challenges they encounter while working with domestic violence cases. The review also addresses the perspectives of counselors on measures that can help in curbing domestic violence while addressing some gaps/weaknesses and strengths of the sources analyzed.

Existing literature supports the fact that domestic violence takes many forms including physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and economic abuse. It can also take the form of isolation, damage of property and threats (Yamawaki, Ochoa-Shipp, Pulsipher, Harlos, & Swindler, 2012). The fundamental purpose of a justice system is to enhance the experience of victims of crime in the criminal justice process in a case proceeding. The Law Commission emphasizes victims and survivors have a remarkable observation on their requirements described by their exploitation, their sexual orientation, association with the guilty party, and their very own attributes. Victims are not a homogeneous gathering, and they do not talk with one voice in distinguishing needs and methodologies. VICTIMS
Most victims now are advantaged from various defensive measures inside the criminal equity process. For instance, the way toward giving a testimony has been made less demanding. Additionally, the victim’s security is considered in bail decisions, and victims are permitted to submit casualty proclamations at the season of sentencing. Recent research affirms that victims are to a great extent ignorant of or disappointed with the criminal justice methods. pervade the psychoanalytic community. Review of state laws and regulations as well as professional
ethics codes reveals a lack of certainty about what constitutes professional misconduct, especially
posttermination. Comparing the training approaches of sex therapy and psychoanalysis, the author
suggests that psychoanalysis will benefit from shifting its focus on extreme cases of egregious sexual
boundary violations onto greater in-depth exploration of clinically universal experience of powerful
erotic and negative transference and countertransference. Innovative and experiential educational formats
that promote openness, acceptance, confidence, and skill with these dynamics are the best prevention.

I was a sex therapist for many years before becoming an analyst.
My training in sex therapy took place in the 1970s, the era of
sexual liberation and the initial rise of the behavior therapy move-
ment, before the terms sexual boundary violations (SBV) and risk

sex therapy courses involved a series of role-playing exercises,
including one of taking turns giving and receiving massage, a
standard sex therapy homework assignment. This is a teaching tool
that could never be a part of a professional curriculum in today’s
climate of increased sensitivity to sexual abuse and risk manage-
ment approach to training and education. We were clothed, and
touch was restricted to the kind of back, neck, arms, and hands
massage now offered in airports and nail salons. Role-playing
patient and therapist, we talked about our bodies and sexuality in
a very personal and detailed way with one another.
I offer this vignette in the spirit of bringing the perspective of
other treatment models, specifically sex therapy, to our psychoan-
alytic approach to the problem of SBV. As I look back, I recall my
sex therapy mentors repeatedly and sharply reminding us how
crucial it was to maintain the therapeutic frame and professional
boundaries. The reputation and very legitimacy of this new form of
psychotherapy were at stake. To this day, sex therapists are mind-
ful of not being confused with sex surrogates!
Despite the marked differences in thinking and approach, psy-
choanalysis and sex therapy are the treatment modalities most
dedicated to intense clinical work with sex and sexuality. How-

Presentation of the Problem
Ryan is a 61 year old Caucasian male who was arrested for violating a no-contact orderwith his ex-husband and two adopted sons. Police were called when he attempted to “break in” to the family home to obtain some personal belongings. While at the home, his ex-husband returned and a physical altercation ensued in which Ryan allegedly attacked his ex-husband with a kitchen knife. No injuries were noted by police; His ex-husband, however, expressed intent to press assault charges. The circumstances surrounding the no-contact order are related to a series of incidences involving allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior with his children. Six months before, a long history of marriage conflict “came to a head” and he informed Ryan that he wished to file for divorce. Ryan’s ex-husband left the home with their two sons and filed a no-contact order against Ryan. The basis of the no-contact order included allegations that Ryan had a “secret life of sex addiction,” including frequent activity on “sex apps” and that he viewed pornography in front of their two sons. The ex-husband also alleged Ryan’s inappropriate relationship with their oldest son, 16 year old, citing that he discovered sexually-provocative language in text messages. A Child Protective Services Investigation and report was completed. Ryan adamantly denies these allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior with and in front of the children; He did however, verify he had been active on “sex apps” throughout the relationships in order to “hook up” with other men.
Psychosocial History
Ryan was born and raised in rural Mississippi. He comes from an intact family and is the youngest of four children. He referenced a narrative within the family that characterized him as the “unplanned pregnancy.” Ryan described a “good childhood” and he denied a history of emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. He graduated from college and has had a successful career as an insurance broker.
When Ryan was age 9, his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.She passed away four years later. This event caused tremendous emotional pain. After his mother’s death, his father began using alcohol heavily and eventually received voluntary inpatient treatment. Ryan reported a strained relationship with his father and a sense of rejection after he told his father he was homosexual. He experienced significant inner emotional conflict as an adolescent related to his sexuality. He began to seek sexual contact with others and by age 17 was having sex with men for money. He does not believe he has a sexual addiction and denied any compulsive sexual .

The issue of domestic violence continues to pose a major threat to the wellbeing of many individuals and families. Apart from the physical scars that can arise due to assault, victims also end up having to contend with many emotional, psychological, and mental unbalance because of the abuse. Domestic violence counselors from different parts of the world work relentlessly to understand the underlying dynamics of this issue in order to help the affected people lead healthy and fulfilling lives. Examining these counselors’ perceptions, views, perspectives, attitudes and experiences of dealing with the victims and perpetrators of domestic violence can thus shed light into the magnitude and nature of this vice. It can also aid in successful completion of the dissertation project, which aspires to answer the research question: “How do counselors dealing with domestic violence victims perceive and describe their client’s experiences of victimization?” The purpose of this literature review is to identify recurrent themes or patterns within published research dealing with the issue of counselors’ perceptions of domestic violence. Some of the themes to be addressed in the review includesinclude counselors’ perceptions on the role of gender in domestic violence cases, their perceptions on the causes of domestic violence, their views on victim/perpetrator characteristics as well as their perspectives on the challenges they encounter while working with domestic violence cases. The review also addresses the perspectives of counselors on measures that can help in curbing domestic violence while addressing some gaps/weaknesses and strengths of the sources analyzed.
Literature Review
Existing literature supports the fact that domestic violence takes many forms including physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and economic abuse. It can also take the form of isolation, damage of property and threats (Yamawaki, Ochoa-Shipp, Pulsipher, Harlos, & Swindler, 2012). INTRODUCTION
The fundamental purpose of a justice system is to enhance the experience of victims of crime in the criminal justice process in a case proceeding. The Law Commission emphasizes victims and survivors have a remarkable observation on their requirements described by their exploitation, their sexual orientation, association with the guilty party, and their very own attributes. Victims are not a homogeneous gathering, and they do not talk with one voice in distinguishing needs and methodologies. The duty regarding tending to the requirements of these victims lay inside the criminal equity framework which is shared by the elected and regional governments. VICTIMS
Most victims now are advantaged from various defensive measures inside the criminal equity process. For instance, the way toward giving a testimony has been made less demanding. Additionally, the victim’s security is considered in bail decisions, and victims are permitted to submit casualty proclamations at the season of sentencing. Recent research affirms that victims are to a great extent ignorant of or disappointed with the criminal justice methods. The preferred treatment for this is to be actualized by incorporating police offices with victim education of their rights at the area of the crime. Courts are keeping up the correspondence with victims to advise them of updates about the situation. Guilt, titillation, and anxious confusion about sexuality and sexual relations between therapist and patient
pervade the psychoanalytic community. Review of state laws and regulations as well as professional
ethics codes reveals a lack of certainty about what constitutes professional misconduct, especially
posttermination. Comparing the training approaches of sex therapy and psychoanalysis, the author
suggests that psychoanalysis will benefit from shifting its focus on extreme cases of egregious sexual
boundary violations onto greater in-depth exploration of clinically universal experience of powerful
erotic and negative transference and countertransference. Innovative and experiential educational formats
that promote openness, acceptance, confidence, and skill with these dynamics are the best prevention.

climate of increased sensitivity to sexual abuse and risk manage-
ment approach to training and education. We were clothed, and
touch was restricted to the kind of back, neck, arms, and hands
massage now offered in airports and nail salons. Role-playing
patient and therapist, we talked about our bodies and sexuality in
a very personal and detailed way with one another.
I offer this vignette in the spirit of bringing the perspective of
other treatment models, specifically sex therapy, to our psychoan-
alytic approach to the problem of SBV. As I look back, I recall my
sex therapy mentors repeatedly and sharply reminding us how
crucial it was to maintain the therapeutic frame and professional
boundaries. The reputation and very legitimacy of this new form of
psychotherapy were at stake. To this day, sex therapists are mind-
ful of not being confused with sex surrogates!
Despite the marked differences in thinking and approach, psy-

Don was removed from home – but was returned to his mother one year later. Don was arrested for possession of crack cocaine – it was believed he was selling.
Darlene is 12 and lives in the suburbs with her mother, step-father and new baby sister. Darlene has been in juvenile court a number of times in the past year for being a runaway. She was petitioned last month by her step-father for being incorrigible. Darlene refused to follow the family rules and is defiant to her step-father. Darlene is very intelligent and is openly disrespectful to her mother and step-father.
Stephen Holmes is 16 and lives in Noblesville. His father is a salesman and his mother is an executive with General Advertising Inc. Stephen has a prior record for larceny. Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. This cycle of abuse is challenging to understand for those working with these individuals.
