1. Main projects worked on whilst at MRA:
• Multi-manager solution: provides a platform for the validation of daily and monthly asset
manager valuations for a variety of funds, and exported the verified information to the client’s
back-end system. This application also had a bond calculator component and pricing validations
for various financial instruments. As this solution was only implemented for MRA’s biggest
funds, she played a major role in implementing the solution across all funds and standardising
the ‘verifier’ platform for users. Provided support and maintenance where needed.
• Forms Integration: its core functions revolves around the sending out of letters and forms for
completion to members, as well as then processing the contents of returned forms - and any
other pieces of documentation sent to the client for storage - on a centralised document storage
system. Provided support and maintenance where needed. Developed new forms and
validations using Formz and Java scripting.
• File Conversions: this solution takes an input file and converts it into a layout and format that
that MRA’s systems can then process. The main solution for the file conversion application was
redeveloped by Yolanda to cater for the new specifications for the layout of the output.
• Regulation 28: she was heavily involved in the development and testing of this solution. It’s
main function being to facilitate the users in conducting their regulation 28 compliance reports
for the various funds at MRA. This application easily gathers and imports data from various file
sources and formats and consolidates it on a user front end. A consolidated report is then
generated as an excel sheet after the user validates the data.
• Benchmark Unitizer Check: she successfully implemented this solution from scratch,
developing all the front end screens, back-end processes and database tables, she also
conducted the final testing before going live. This application serves as another verifier stage in
unit pricing by comparing the variances in the financial instruments provided by the asset
managers with the calculated variances using market indices and indicators.
• Tax Compliance Certificates: also an application she developed for the user from scratch.
Practising her business analysis skills, she worked closely with the users to identify the business
requirements and to design a solution that best satisfies the business need. This application
keeps track of all tax deposits, payments and voids made for a specific fund and month and
consolidates it on a user front end where the users can then confirm the data before allowing
the application to generate the tax compliance certificate.
