This document discusses a student project called "Papeles de Segunda" that focuses on reusing paper. The objectives are to learn about the 3Rs of reduce, reuse, and recycle and to practice them by reusing used paper. It describes how the student saw their mother cutting and reusing used paper as notepads, inspiring the project's name which means "second hand paper" in Filipino. By keeping used paper, sorting it, and reusing it for printing or scratch paper, the student is proudly doing their part to save trees and the environment.

(Reduce, Reuse & Recycle).
 To know what is the importance
of saving our mother earth.
 To practice 3R’s in school and at
home.
 To reuse the used paper and save
the trees.

3. Why Papeles de Segunda?
Ever since I was a kid, my mother always wanted our home
to be clean. She taught me how to clean my room and our
house. Until one day, I saw my mother cutting out used paper
and I asked her why is she doing such things. She said that she
wants to conserve and reuse the one side used paper as her
notepad. She put some padding glue and viola! She reuse the
other side of the paper on writing notes and etc. Eventually, I
get used to it and adapt it also.
Papeles de Segunda is the title I choose
for my project because it will focus on the reuse paper.
Segunda is a Filipino term use for second hand items.
Combination of two words will give you the meaning of reusing
and recycling the paper.

4. Why Paper is important?
Paper is a versatile material with many uses, including
printing, painting, graphics, signage, design, packaging,
decorating, writing, and cleaning. Paper are from trees.

How many paper we throw away each year?
The world produces 300 million tons of paper every year.
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, printing and
writing papers typically found in a school or office environment such
as copier paper, computer printouts, and notepads comprise the
largest category of paper product consumption and landfill waste.
As we all know that paper is made up from trees. If we continue
to waste paper many trees decrease and our mountains will destroy.
That is why I choose to recycle the used paper. Even simple ways I can
contribute in saving the environment in gradual deterioration.

5. STEP 1- KEEPING THE USED PAPER
For Example:
My mother have a
small printing service
inside our Subdivision. We
can’t always sure that the
printed material is ok so
sometimes my mother
encounter printing issues.
My brother and I, also use
papers and sometimes we
encounter mistakes so we
use another good paper.
Those used paper is separated to good paper
and store it on my mini organizer.

6. STEP 2- SORTING OF PAPER

sorting of the used paper.
Separating the one side used
paper to double sided used
paper. One side used paper will
used again while the double
sided used paper is for safe
keeping and it will send to
junkshop and we can sell it.

STEP 3- REUSING OF USED PAPER
2nd- Reusing the One sided used paper as SCRATCH PAPER. This
can be use in taking down notes important information. Also
taking notes during class most specially in solving math problems
instead of using a good paper we can use this.
