Diana Raphael has over 40 years of experience in education, including as a teacher, literacy coach, and member of her school district's writing and professional development committees. She has extensive experience introducing writing and reading workshops and guiding curriculum development. Raphael holds advanced degrees in education and currently works as an educational consultant, providing professional development services to schools on topics like the Common Core, writing across curriculums, and classroom instructional strategies to support all students.

1. Diana Raphael has taught children and
teachers for over 40 years. Over the past
decade, she was a founding member and
chair of her school district’s writing
committee, co-writing a Common Core
aligned Literacy Framework that
included a fully developed writing and
reading system.
She has helped to guide professional
learning as a long-term member of the
district’s collaborative professional
development committee. As a teacher
leader, coach and teacher, she
introduced writing workshop and
reading workshop.
She has been a facilitator, literacy
teacher, coach, teacher leader, co-
teacher, Reading Recovery teacher,
kindergarten teacher and preschool
teacher. She holds an MEd from Antioch
New England Graduate School and a
CAS in Teacher Leadership from UVM.
She is on the school board of the newly
formed ANWSD unified district.
