May- 2013 to 15-Nov-2013.
His 6 months project was in the field of Alternate Energy (AE) and was placed under the tutelage of
Mihir Mathur (Head of AE team). His project was to set up and operationalize a village level energy
enterprise. This enterprise would act as a "One Stop Shop" for all energy related works in the
village'

Ankit took up various initiativgE during these six months. He first piepirea a concept note explaining
the vision, mission and near and long term plans for the Energy Centre. He then proceeded to
providing training and capacity building of the village youth selected for Renewable energy works in
the village. He played a major role in improving the after-sales service for the various energy
products installed in the villages. He also successfully carried out a pilot for setting up 3 mobile solar
shops in the project areas (Akole and Sangamner).

Apart from his Ctiie deliverables, he was very"dctivbly involved in other nlter#ate Energy projects
such as Biogas Plants, Smokeless Chullah's and water lifting pumps. A standout contribution was in
planning and carrying out a 2 week village level campaign to raise awareness for the Smokeless
Chullah's and water lifting pumps.
Ankit had several impressive qualities which set him apart from his peers. Right from the start he
showed very high interests+in understanding how grassroof9, work jwas carried out by our
organization. He very quicklr/assumed a leadership role in the team,,6hil itris gave us the confidence
to give him more managerial responsibilities. His sincerity and temperament were his prime
strengths and this also helped him create a very strong rapport with the field team.
ln sum, we are very glad to have had Ankit Agarwal as a fellow at WOTR and due to his abilities have
