Our economy is passing through one of the
most critical times in recent history. Within the
economy manufacturing has been hit the hard-
est. During this difficult time it is necessary to
strengthen our resolve and make changes in
our work ethic.
It would be a good idea to try and learn from our
scriptures about work and duty.
Our Lord explained in the Geeta – “The world is
bound by actions other than those performed for
the sake of Yagna. Therefore, perform actions
for Yagna alone, without any attachment (Ch. 3-
9).
We must therefore perform our work in the spirit
of Yagna. All work can become a sacred Yagna
if we undertake it without ego. The work that we
do can be divinised into a sacred Pooja if only
we change our mental attitude to work. Let us
try to work in the spirit advised by the Lord so
that we find fulfillment in the work.
We had two major tragedies in our country re-
cently. First was the natural disaster in Uttark-
hand which has left a large part of the commu-
nity, in the affected areas, homeless. The sec-
ond tragedy was the death of school children who consumed poisonous food offered in
the mid-day meal scheme. Let us pray that the affected have strength to overcome.
Our Company will be taking up the work of rehabilitation of the affected in Uttarkhand.
I urge you’ll to support the Company in this activity.
Four steps to
achievement:
1. Plan
Purposefully.
2. Prepare
Prayerfully.
3. Proceed
Positively.
4. Pursue
Persistently. Creating a strong business & building a better world are not conflicting goals, they
are both essential ingredients for long-term success.
There are no Secrets to Success.
It’s the Result of Preparation,
Hard Work & Learning from Failure.
Shri.Harshad Patel

CSR IS A HARD-EDGED BUSINESS DECISION, NOT BECAUSE IT’S A NICE
THING TO DO OR WHEN PEOPLE ARE FORCING US TO DO IT BECAUSE IT IS
GOOD FOR OUR BUSINESS
As we expand our foot print into new ven-
tures, we also take on the responsibility to
care for the communities. Today Corpo-
rate Social Responsibility has become an
integral part of companies. For CSR ac-
tivities various initiatives are taken up by
the companies to give back to the society
that helped them reach the stage.
Gujarat region has initiated CSR Activities
since last two year which is embedded in
Rishi Corporate culture and integrated
with core-business objectives to deliver
social & environmental returns. It involves
all employees & workers with wide efforts
from cross functional team member in-
volvement to institutionalize CSR.
Rishi Gujarat is working to promote CSR
throughout the entire structure by offering
opportunities for employees to participate in a wide array of CSR Programme for
example Blood Donation camp, Education kit distribution to our workers & labours,
water harvesting etc.
Rainwater harvesting is a technique used for collecting, storing, and using rain-
water for landscape irrigation and other uses. The rainwater is collected from vari-
ous hard surfaces such as roof tops and/or other types of manmade above ground
hard surfaces. Rain water harvesting is essential because, surface water is inade-
quate to meet our demand and we have to depend on ground water. Due to rapid
urbanization, infiltration of rain water into the sub-soil has decreased drastically and
recharging of ground water has diminished. In the given picture is the drawing of
water harvesting plan for RLL Gujarat.
• Basic Principle: Collection of rain water through roof and channelizing it to filtra-
tion module which is than supplied for recharging bore well. Above system oper-
ates on gravity and does not require electricity.
• Module: SFM Module -2350(sand filtration module)
• Function of module: Maximum rain water is collected from roof to sand filtration
module-2350 where filtration takes place.
Many companies feel compelled to give back to the community. Few have figured
out how to do it well. Rishi Gujarat has identifying the right focus areas in key to the
success of CSR Programme.

On 16th June 2013 @
RLL Rajkot under the
leadership & guidance of
Mr.Piyush Bhagdev Tree
Plantation activity was
carried out @ Rajkot Unit. It won’t have been possible to
carry out this activity without active participation of Rishi
employees. We are glad that Rishi Laser employees,
are so enthusiastic towards contributing for society & na-
ture. For the sustainable environment development in our local, its surrounding
communities in industries, the Tree Plantation is an answer. (CO2 kick the habit
towards the low carbon economy). Trees should be regularly planted to save the
mankind & animal world. Tree plantation and its after-care is a pleasing work too.
Industries should plant trees in their compounds, in the front-yards, backyards and
side-yards of their company, near their own houses and in other places wherever
possible. In the end
would like to thank

The year began on a positive note with our
Bommasandra unit being certified with the much
coveted ISO 14001 EMS certification. “It is
every ones duty to protect the environment so
that it can sustain our future generations”. Our
dependence on the precious ground water re-
duced to 30 % after installation of rain water har-
vesting, various environmental programs are
being executed thru Continual Improvement
process in line with our Environmental Policy.
These programs would reduce the impacts of
our activities on the environment. Safety of our
people and the factory has always been a prior-
ity and to reinforce our resolve towards safety at
work we have conducted several audits, train-
ings and emergency mock drills. These activities
have inculcated a culture of safety at work
among the employees and have prepared them
in emergency response techniques.
“You don’t have to be a doctor to save lives, just donate blood” with this theme in
mind It is heartening to note that several of our employees have been donating their
blood to the needy patients of the nearby Cardiac hospital. This noble gesture of
theirs have saved many precious lives.
As part of our drive towards operational excellence we have kick started Lean activi-
ties with equal participation from the leadership and the employees. These activities
have resulted in better productivity and quality which was highly appreciated by our
esteemed customers.

  • 1. Our economy is passing through one of the most critical times in recent history. Within the economy manufacturing has been hit the hard- est. During this difficult time it is necessary to strengthen our resolve and make changes in our work ethic. It would be a good idea to try and learn from our scriptures about work and duty. Our Lord explained in the Geeta – “The world is bound by actions other than those performed for the sake of Yagna. Therefore, perform actions for Yagna alone, without any attachment (Ch. 3- 9). We must therefore perform our work in the spirit of Yagna. All work can become a sacred Yagna if we undertake it without ego. The work that we do can be divinised into a sacred Pooja if only we change our mental attitude to work. Let us try to work in the spirit advised by the Lord so that we find fulfillment in the work. We had two major tragedies in our country re- cently. First was the natural disaster in Uttark- hand which has left a large part of the commu- nity, in the affected areas, homeless. The sec- ond tragedy was the death of school children who consumed poisonous food offered in the mid-day meal scheme. Let us pray that the affected have strength to overcome. Our Company will be taking up the work of rehabilitation of the affected in Uttarkhand. I urge you’ll to support the Company in this activity. Four steps to achievement: 1. Plan Purposefully. 2. Prepare Prayerfully. 3. Proceed Positively. 4. Pursue Persistently. Creating a strong business & building a better world are not conflicting goals, they are both essential ingredients for long-term success. There are no Secrets to Success. It’s the Result of Preparation, Hard Work & Learning from Failure. Shri.Harshad Patel
  • 2. Page 2 CSR IS A HARD-EDGED BUSINESS DECISION, NOT BECAUSE IT’S A NICE THING TO DO OR WHEN PEOPLE ARE FORCING US TO DO IT BECAUSE IT IS GOOD FOR OUR BUSINESS As we expand our foot print into new ven- tures, we also take on the responsibility to care for the communities. Today Corpo- rate Social Responsibility has become an integral part of companies. For CSR ac- tivities various initiatives are taken up by the companies to give back to the society that helped them reach the stage. Gujarat region has initiated CSR Activities since last two year which is embedded in Rishi Corporate culture and integrated with core-business objectives to deliver social & environmental returns. It involves all employees & workers with wide efforts from cross functional team member in- volvement to institutionalize CSR. Rishi Gujarat is working to promote CSR throughout the entire structure by offering opportunities for employees to participate in a wide array of CSR Programme for example Blood Donation camp, Education kit distribution to our workers & labours, water harvesting etc. Rainwater harvesting is a technique used for collecting, storing, and using rain- water for landscape irrigation and other uses. The rainwater is collected from vari- ous hard surfaces such as roof tops and/or other types of manmade above ground hard surfaces. Rain water harvesting is essential because, surface water is inade- quate to meet our demand and we have to depend on ground water. Due to rapid urbanization, infiltration of rain water into the sub-soil has decreased drastically and recharging of ground water has diminished. In the given picture is the drawing of water harvesting plan for RLL Gujarat. • Basic Principle: Collection of rain water through roof and channelizing it to filtra- tion module which is than supplied for recharging bore well. Above system oper- ates on gravity and does not require electricity. • Module: SFM Module -2350(sand filtration module) • Function of module: Maximum rain water is collected from roof to sand filtration module-2350 where filtration takes place. Many companies feel compelled to give back to the community. Few have figured out how to do it well. Rishi Gujarat has identifying the right focus areas in key to the success of CSR Programme. • 3. Page 3 On 25th May 2013 Saturday Blood Do- nation Camp was organized @Rishi Laser Ltd, Vadodara Unit. This camp was organized with the help of Friends Society NGO & S.S.G. Hospital, Vado- dara. The camp commenced with a counseling session by a team of spe- cialists wherein donors were made aware of the need for worldwide blood donation initiatives, safety measures followed for both donors and recipients, and acknowledgment provided to the donors. In return, the camp got an over- whelming response. One will be pleased to know that 65 dedicated & loyal employees-workers from Vadodara and Savli took part in BLOOD DONATION CAMP, of them 40 employees and work- ers successfully donated 40 units of blood. Later on the foundation issued donor cards, which will be important to the donor & family in getting immediate blood relief in-case of any unforeseen situation for future. This article is to cele- brate and thanks those individuals who voluntarily gave their time & blood without any reward. They accepted the fact that by donating they have helped to save lives. Also would like to thanks all those individuals who made effort to donate blood but due to certain criteria’s where tardy. It’s our sincere thanks for such an impressive job. We are grateful to the Committee Members namely - Surendra Chauhan–Paint Shop, Chirag Rana- Bending, Dhaval Tank-TPP, Prasant Tank-Fabrication for their ideas, efforts and enthusiasm to make this event a success. It’s our sin- cere thanks to Shri.M. K. Pandyaji for their valuable guid- ance & support. In the end once again thank you for demon- strating such a genuine commitment to our community and helping our society. Assure a safe and adequate blood supply by remembering. • 4. Gujarat region employees once again took a step toward Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by donating 134 education kits to regular workers and laborers of Vado- dara, Savli & Ahemdabad Unit. This event was held on Friday 7th June 2013, by our respected Rishi Group Chairman Shri.Harshad Patel along with CMC Member Mr.Vinod Sharma at Savli unit. Same event was held at Vadodara Unit where Shri.M.K.Pandya and CMC Member Mr.Vishal Desai addressed on “Education is a necessity for Society” at the closure of event. For this Nobel cause the committee raised fund Rs.13,840 from Vadodara, Savli & Ahemdabad. It’s our sincerely thanks to our respected employees for their valuable contribution namely, Shri.M.K.Pandya, Shri.Vishal Desai, Ms.Shailey Kapoor, Mr.Chirayu Shah, Mr.Rohit Patel, Mr.Rajesh Parmar. Also, greatly appreciate the sincere efforts made by the active committee members namely, Mr.Rajesh Parmar, Ms.Shailey Kapoor, Mr.Pragnesh Pandya, Mr.Vimal Parikh, Mr.Daxesh Barot. On 16th June 2013 @ RLL Rajkot under the leadership & guidance of Mr.Piyush Bhagdev Tree Plantation activity was carried out @ Rajkot Unit. It won’t have been possible to carry out this activity without active participation of Rishi employees. We are glad that Rishi Laser employees, are so enthusiastic towards contributing for society & na- ture. For the sustainable environment development in our local, its surrounding communities in industries, the Tree Plantation is an answer. (CO2 kick the habit towards the low carbon economy). Trees should be regularly planted to save the mankind & animal world. Tree plantation and its after-care is a pleasing work too.
