Students from several European countries participated in classes about violence led by Mrs. Barbara Ostrowska. The students successfully defined aggression and shared their opinions and experiences. They then drew situations involving aggression and explained common causes of violence, such as lack of tolerance, stress, neglect, alcohol, and drugs. The multinational group of active and creative students was able to gain new knowledge about violence and discuss this important global issue through their international collaboration.

1. „ Comenius”, Turkey 2010 – classes about violence

2. Students from Turkey, Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Romania were working together during classes about violence conducted by Mrs. Barbara Ostrowska. The first task was to define aggression. Teenagers were well-prepared for such questions, so they managed to answer them perfectly. They could share opinions and experiences with each other.

3. Later, they were supposed to compare aggression to what they associate it with.

4. Do you also associate violence with rainy days, storms and bulls … ?

5. The next order was to draw a few situations when we have to do with aggression.

6. All groups were very creative. They enabled us to know how teenagers from all over the world perceive violence.

9. Finally, students tried to explain the reasons of the formation of violence. Due to it, they have prepared many equations presenting their considerations .

10. The most popular problems were: no tolerance, stress, neglect, alcohol, drugs, etc .

11. All teenagers were very active while co-operating. They have created incredible pictures.

12. Owing to „Comenius” we gained new knowledge, shared opinions with other young people and improved the use of English. What’s more, we were able to discuss and get to know one of the biggest problems of present-day world - violence. These classes have showed us the importance of living in agreement and helping people harmed by aggression.
