Why ancient texts are important in
Authentic Yoga Tradition?
•The silence is the language of Authentic Yoga
Tradition
•The text says, ‘Maunamsarathsadhakam’. This
Sanskrit phrase means, silence is the means that
fulfills all the purpose of life.
•Silence – vocal, mental and physical
•Silence – makes you Alone
•Alone – All One – awakening
•Emptiness of mind of its contents is YOGA

How tradition continued?
•Does not mean, one cannot learn in other languages.
•Did you get some idea about meaning of words,
“Namaste” and “asana?” in first two presentations
--Explains the properties of what we are doing
•Yoga is free from cult, dogma, belief, religion……..

How tradition continued?
•Samskrit – ‘Saam’ meaning ‘equanimity’ and
‘krita’ meaning ‘to perform’
•The word, ‘Samskrit’ means ‘perfected’ or
enlightened
•Mind is always divided, but ‘equanimity’ is
realized when awakened in / by yoga

How tradition continued?
Yoga-sthah kuru karmani sangam tyaktva dhananjaya
siddhy-asiddhyoh samo bhutva samatvam Yoga ucyate
(Bhagvad Gita, Chapter 2, verse 48)
Be naturally focused in Yoga, O Arjuna (the name
of a disciple). Perform your duty and abandon all
attachment to success or failure. Such evenness/
equanimity of mind is Yoga.

When a student intensely
•aspire on the path and practices of Yoga,
•after dropping all attractions and repulsions to
success and failures in material world outside in
personal, professional, and social lives,
•one awakens to the state of equanimity,
•one attains the state of Yoga ( the highest state
of consciousness).
One is in state of ‘Sanskrit’ or ‘equanimity’.
