MATCH THE REMEDIES TO THE PROBLEMS
FOR THE TEACHER: Cut out the problems and home remedies. Pass
them out. Have students look for the person whose problem matches
their remedy. Then have them discuss these remedies.

I have chills. For chills, eat raw onion and honey.
My eyes hurt. Put warm milk in your eyes.
My skin itches. Sit in hot water and the itching will go
away.
I’m depressed. Boil ¼ teaspoon powdered cardamom
seeds in thin tea water and drink this.
I have a lot of bruises.
If the skin isn’t broken, put sliced onion on
your bruises.
I can’t get rid of this cough! Rub vodka/brandy on chest and throat right
before you go to sleep.
I feel nervous all the time.
Soak 1 tablespoon of mint leaves in 1 cup water
for 30 minutes. Then drink.
