Pentecost marks the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and the beginning of the Christian church. Over 3,000 people were baptized that day. The church calls us beyond our personal concerns to worship God together. We are stewards of the gifts God has given us, including our time, talents, treasures, and relationships. As stewards, we are called to use our gifts to fulfill God's purposes and support the church through proportional giving according to our abilities. The parish budget for 2012 is around $775,000, and each of the 660 pledging units is asked to pledge an average of $1,174 to meet this goal.
Tit 2:11-14 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
It's hard for most people to grasp the concept of being a slave. Most would deny that they are servants. But the reality is that we are all slaves/servants to something. If one is honest with himself He'll admit that he is in bondage to his job, to a location where he lives, to a bad marriage, to a sick and dying body and most of all to sin. Paul speaks in the context to the Roman empire where the majority of his listeners are servants. You may not be this kind of a servant, but the principles are still applicable to employees, students and even children. Jesus did not come to rule but to serve. We are to do the same.
EVANGELISM 101: Lesson 1 - Biblical Foundations of EvangelismFrancis Hernandez
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” (Romans 10:13-15)
"It (Evangelism) comes from the same Greek word for gospel (euangelion) and means, literally, “gospeling.” When we evangelize we are “gospeling” — we are spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ." - https://www.ligonier.org/learn/devotionals/what-evangelism/
Every Christian is called to do the divine task of evangelism. Evangelism is a task not just for the select churches, or for the evangelists or pastors. This is Lesson 1 of EVANGELISM 101 Series. Given last April 23, 2021 at HOPE Christian Fellowship in Guinobatan, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, Philippines by Ptr. Francis S. Hernandez.

We know the dictionary definition of worship (a feeling, or devotion to a deity), and we have read John 4:24, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth"; but, what does the Bible teach us about the subject of worship? This is a series of lessons that gets to the heart of worship and what it really means for Christians.
Why did God give the Law - so high, So demanding, So unreasonable humanly speaking that no body (no man, no woman, no boy, no girl) has ever been able to keep them?

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

What Should be the Christian View of Anime?Joe Muraguri
We will learn what Anime is and see what a Christian should consider before watching anime movies? We will also learn a little bit of Shintoism religion and hentai (the craze of internet pornography today).
1. Pentecost
(50 days after the
Resurrection)
“Then those who gladly
received his word were
baptized; and that day
about three thousand
souls were added to
them.”
Acts 2:41
2. The Church
The Church as the
body of Christ
carries us beyond our
personal
concerns, stretching
our vision to the
eternal and the
heavenly as we
ascend together to
worship the
Father, the Son and
the Holy Spirit.
3. Our way of Life
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be
steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the
work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is
not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians
15:58
4. All is given to us by God
“As each one has received a gift, minister it to
one another, as good stewards of the manifold
grace of God.” 1 Peter 4:10
Everything we have –
Time, Talents, Treasures, Health, Property, Mater
ial things, Relationships, Faith – All have been
given to us by God.
5. What is Stewardship? Stewardship is how we
use our Time, Talents and Treasures in a
partnership with God.
6. What is a Steward?
Stewards
A Steward is a
person who MANAGES
the affairs of God on
earth. God has made
each of us a Steward and
has given us ABILITIES
that are unique.
7. Life is Stewardship
Life is the
FIRST and
GREATEST
gift of all and
carries great
responsibilities
with it.
We know that
our lives are
sacred trusts.
8. Stewardship of Time
We are the stewards of those lives; God depends
on us to use them to accomplish God’s purposes.
When God gives us Life, we don’t know how
much TIME we have to use that life. We must
budget our hours so that we are able to Give of
our TIME to fulfill God’s plan.
9. Whatever TIME we have is a gift
from God, and we must use it
wisely in every activity throughout
the day.
10. We have been given superior minds
and bodies in which to accomplish
God’s work. We are to use both in
order to fully discover God’s plan, in
understanding self and others. We
present our Bodies and we renew our
minds as offerings to God.
11. Stewardship of TALENTS
God gives all people TALENTS when
they are born. Each of us can share in
God’s plan in his or her own way.
12. If we use our
TALENTS
wisely, we will
be better able
to use them
and will
develop others
– but if we
don’t, we may
lose even
those
TALENTS we
do have
13. Our relationships with others are a gift from God
and a measure of our stewardship for God. Our
relationships at HOME, at WORK, at CHURCH are
our ways that we exercise our partnership: to
receive the Gospel, to share the Gospel and to
reflect the Gospel.
14. Stewardship of TREASURES
DEFINITION: Call of every member to share
willingly the gifts that God has bestowed on
them – including sharing these gifts for Gods
work.
15. We must actively commit to use our TREASURES
for the benefit of humankind in grateful
acknowledgement of Christ’s Redeeming Love.
16. .
Stewardship of TREASURES must become a Way
of Life – we must offer one’s self to God as He
offered Himself to us
17. Primary Purpose of Stewardship
Not to finance the Local
Parish –it’s a secondary
purpose at best
To promote the Spiritual
Growth of the Stewards
in order that all may
grow in Grace and
develop their Faith.
18. Every member(unit) must offer a Pledge Card
because with this process every member(unit) will
specify the TIME, TALENT and TREASURES they will
commit and donate to the Parish over the course
of the ensuing year.
19. “For everyone to whom much is given, from him
much will be required; and to whom much has
been committed, of him they will ask the more.”
Luke 12:48 Proportional Giving is what is asked
of every member because all is being given for
the Work of the Church.
20. Our attitude with regards
towards Stewardship
must be a willing and
joyful one. We must
understand that we as
Stewards are Stewards of
All God’s mysteries, His
love, Eternal Life, God’s
Church on earth, our
own Theosis (Partaking
of the Divine nature) and
one another – thereby
must love each other.
21.
22. In 1934 our Parish was establish
because of the VISION of dedicated
men and women who wanted to
worship our Lord with their families
and others.
23. Today, we must carry on their vision by supporting our
Parish through the offering of ourselves in service and
devotion to God.
24. Financial giving to
our Parish allows for
the carrying out of
its mission in
Christ’s name to
every member and
beyond.
25. Our whole life is a partnership with God.
We must seek no rewards but offer our
Stewardship with the knowledge of the
joy of serving God.
26. We cannot “give” anything to
God; but we can “fulfill” God by
using our financial support
wisely and sharing with others
– the Church.
27. We have entered into a
new era within our Parish.
We have a new vision for
our Parish.
Our needs have
grown and now is
the time to meet
them 100%.
28.
29. Our total Budget for
2012 will be around
$775,000. If all 660
Pledging units
Pledge the needed
average of $1,174
we will meet our
goal. The question
is: Will all 660
Pledging units
pledge the average
of $1,174?
30. Our Parish has
expenses, just like
everyone else. Our Parish
must pay for
electricity, Building
insurance, Building
cleaning, health
insurance, supplies, Salari
es, Building maintenance
&
repairs, telephone, groun
ds maintenance and much
more.
31. Where must the money come from to
pay these expenses?
ANSWER : From Stewardship
32. Now the time has
come, that every
Pledging unit of this
Parish must
understand that
THEY and no one
else must offer
their financial
support in order to
meet the budget
for this year and
those in the future.
33. This is ALL of our responsability. If we want this
Parish to remain alive and functioning, then we all
need to make a commitment to Christ and His
Church
TODAY!
34. If you have NOT Financially
pledged as of Today, Today is
the day you need to do so
and we ask that you Pledge
the needed average of
$1,300, if you are
honestly, sincerely and
truthfully before the Lord
able to do so.
35. If you have Pledged for 2011 and have not
financially pledged the needed average of
$1,300 and are able to do so, today is the day
to increase your Pledge.
36.
37. TODAY is here, do not let it pass you by without
praying about, answering the presented
questions or making your 2011 right within the
eyes of the Lord. “…that Christ may dwell in
your hearts through faith;”
Ephesians 3:17
38. “…to know the love of Christ
which passes knowledge;
that you may be filled with
all the fullness of God.”
Ephesians 3:19
39. The information presented to you
here is offered out of love, in faith
and for the understanding of
knowledge of the facts about our
Parish, so that you may make your
decision on how you will financially
support our Parish this year and for
the many years to come. The decision
is yours and yours alone.
So what will it Be?
