3. Green Economy
 Worcester city’s economy is still in the main a linear economy –
however the 2020-2030 masterplan has sought to bring in more
sustainability with a goal of zero carbon emissions and waste.
The Ecotopia would take this master plan and the UN/EU
sustainability goals (https://sdgs.un.org/) much further.
 It will achieve the above using waste reduction equity models
based on Pareto’s ratio of 80:20 and the approaches of the
MacArthur Foundation among others https://www.macfound.org/

4. Fair and Just Society
 Worcester Ecotopia would be a “safe zone” with a social and
cultural contract for all residents based on non-harm and non
hurt principles. This will be taught in schools.
 Worcester Ecotopia would seek rehabilitation through non
custodial means
 Everyone will have equal opportunities and access in Worcester
Ecotopia.

5. Strategic Healthcare
 There will be an emphasis on decentralization of healthcare and
focus on strategic care based in the community making use of
mobile technology and on-site care.
 There will be greater emphasis on out patient care with 24 hour
doctor and nurse access if need be.
 A hub system based on a health dedicated tram system with a
mobile care unit that will replace ambulances.

6. Zero Waste Economy
 The working economy of Worcester Ecotopia will be based on
(Rs) of waste and new alternative industries derived from a
waste reduction portfolio. There will be a focus on cooperative
farming and hydroponic ponds. There will be high-tech green
innovative fields and sectors (such as transport and energy
(wind-turbines, solar, biofuel, etc).
 Trade in the Ecotopia will be through bonds and trusts.

7. Tiny houses in Big Houses
 In the Worcester Ecotopia there will be a concerted effort to
optimize living space and make the home more energy efficient
and sustainable utilizing the practices of tiny house design and
layout as well as best cultural concepts such as minimalism(
Scandinavia), living room/bedroom (Japan) et al.
 The houses will be self-sufficient and off grid – with their own
gardens and “wild” zones.

8. Decommissioning Roads
 Decommissioning roads and drive ways to free land (each car
occupies eight square metres of land)
 The land will be used for alternative transportation such as
walking, bike-ways, tramlines and aerial cars (based on ski-car
mechanics).
 Decommissioned roads will have green infrastructure and turn
unproductive land into green capital.

9. Green Education
 Distributed higher and vocation practical education within the
community.
 Emphasis on science and creativity – focus on Ecotopian
values
 Everlasting and inclusive cooperative education.
