The Mahila Shakti Kendra scheme was launched in 2017 to empower rural women in India. The objectives of the scheme are to provide easy access to information for women, increase women's participation in local governance bodies, and raise awareness about government goals and schemes. The scheme is implemented at the national, state, district and block levels, with funds provided jointly by the central and state governments. More than 3 lakh student volunteers help support scheme implementation at the local level.

• MSK scheme is a combined effect of centre and state
government

to help in implementation of scheme at government level .

areas covering 920
blocks .

POLICE
VOLUNTEER

12. INTRODUCTION
The Mahila Police Volunteer
scheme was launched on
DECEMBER 2016 by the
Ministry of women and child
development in collaboration
with the home affairs for the
engagement of the MPVs in the
state and UTs.

To increase the reporting and response of crime
against women.

14. FEATURES
MPV will serve a public police interface in order to fight
crime against women .
She will act as a role model for community.
The initial term period of an MPV will be for the
maximum two years and reviewed every six months.
I. Rs 1000 per month will be credited to the MPV to cover
her pocket expenses.
II. Three day training will be imparted to the MPV’s
III.Rewards-Rs 10,000,Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 respectively
will be granted to the three outstanding performers.

15. ELIGIBILITY
MPV must be a women applicant .
The applicant should not be less than 21 years .
It is obligated for the application to pass the
certification at least 12th pass.
There must be no criminal proceeding
instituted against her.
The women applicant must not be a member of
political party.
