Abstract
Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) system ought to be depicted with respective
ground clearance of electric vehicle. It is an innovation technology which can
be applied for all Electric Vehicles (EV) as it helps to get rid of user
involvement. The crucial impediment for acquiring wireless charging is ground
clearance which downgrades the power transfer efficiency. The theory of WPT
for different ground clearance is elucidated and the corresponding cordless
charger device is analyzed. The portrayed cordless charger device as capacity
to distribute the power of about 12v utmost ground clearance of 20cm.

Electric Vehicle (EV)
Electric vehicles (EVs) run on electricity only. They are propelled by one or more electric motors
powered by rechargeable battery packs.

Wireless charging is a method of charging batteries without the use of cable or Physical
connection with the device specific AC adaptors. Essentially wireless charging (wireless
power transfer or Inductive Charging or Cord-less Charging) uses electromagnetic fields to
safely transfer power from a transmitting source to a receiving device for the purposes of
wirelessly charging (or recharging) a battery. As the name suggests, it does so without the use
of a physical connection.

 Inductive charging is based on the possibility of transferring
power through the space between two objects, a
transmitting source and a receiving device in order to charge
or recharge a battery without any physical connection.

RESONANCE CHARGING.
 In resonance charging, two copper
coils are used. One
power
coil, attached to a source,
is thesending unit.
The other coil, attached to the device to
be charged, is the receiver. Both coils
are tuned to the same electromagnetic
frequency.
Arduino Nano
The Arduino Nano is an open-source microcontroller board based on the Microchip
ATmega328P microcontroller and developed by Arduino.cc. The board is equipped with
sets of digital and analog input/output (I/O) pins that may be interfaced to various
expansion boards (shields) and other circuits. The board has 14 digital I/O pins (six capable
of PWM output), 6 analog I/O pins, and is programmable with the Arduino IDE (Integrated
Development Environment), via a type B USB cable.

Benefits of wireless EV charging:

 Eliminates the need for a charging cable which is prone to
damage, vandalism and potential safety concerns
 Improves user comfort and convenience as there is no need to
manually
plug in a cable – just park the vehicle over the charging pad and
charging begins
 It will Really make a Make Vehicle Autonomous.
 Protected connections
 Durability
 Inductive charging systems can be operated automatically without
dependence on people to plug and unplug. This results in higher
reliability.
Future Development:
1. Multiple Charging Pads
2. Larger Distance Coverage
3. Web application for real time monitoring
Conclusion
The proposed thesis based project was to deliver power
wirelessly. Our research and practical implementation showed
positive results. We were able to transfer power wirelessly and
the efficiency was 20.4% which is very low. But, from the
research, we found that, the efficiency can be increased. As the
output power is inversely proportional with the distance, it is
very much challenging to improve the efficiency. Many research
is going on to improve the efficiency.

  • 2. Abstract Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) system ought to be depicted with respective ground clearance of electric vehicle. It is an innovation technology which can be applied for all Electric Vehicles (EV) as it helps to get rid of user involvement. The crucial impediment for acquiring wireless charging is ground clearance which downgrades the power transfer efficiency. The theory of WPT for different ground clearance is elucidated and the corresponding cordless charger device is analyzed. The portrayed cordless charger device as capacity to distribute the power of about 12v utmost ground clearance of 20cm.

  • 4. Electric Vehicle (EV) Electric vehicles (EVs) run on electricity only. They are propelled by one or more electric motors powered by rechargeable battery packs. 4
  • 5. Wireless charging is a method of charging batteries without the use of cable or Physical connection with the device specific AC adaptors. Essentially wireless charging (wireless power transfer or Inductive Charging or Cord-less Charging) uses electromagnetic fields to safely transfer power from a transmitting source to a receiving device for the purposes of wirelessly charging (or recharging) a battery.   • 7.  Inductive charging is based on the possibility of transferring power through the space between two objects, a transmitting source and a receiving device in order to charge or recharge a battery without any physical connection. Contd… 7

  • 9. RESONANCE CHARGING.  In resonance charging, two copper coils are used. One power coil, attached to a source, is thesending unit. The other coil, attached to the device to be charged, is the receiver. Both coils are tuned to the same electromagnetic frequency.
  • 10. Arduino Nano The Arduino Nano is an open-source microcontroller board based on the Microchip ATmega328P microcontroller and developed by Arduino.cc. The board is equipped with sets of digital and analog input/output (I/O) pins that may be interfaced to various expansion boards (shields) and other circuits. The board has 14 digital I/O pins (six capable of PWM output), 6 analog I/O pins, and is programmable with the Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment), via a type B USB cable. Benefits of wireless EV charging: 11  Eliminates the need for a charging cable which is prone to damage, vandalism and potential safety concerns  Improves user comfort and convenience as there is no need to manually plug in a cable – just park the vehicle over the charging pad and charging begins  It will Really make a Make Vehicle Autonomous.  Protected connections  Durability  Inductive charging systems can be operated automatically without dependence on people to plug and unplug. This results in higher reliability.

  • 14. Conclusion The proposed thesis based project was to deliver power wirelessly. Our research and practical implementation showed positive results. We were able to transfer power wirelessly and the efficiency was 20.4% which is very low. But, from the research, we found that, the efficiency can be increased. As the output power is inversely proportional with the distance, it is very much challenging to improve the efficiency. Many research is going on to improve the efficiency.
