2. -WHEN CHOOSING THE SCRIPT, MY GROUP AND I DECIDED IT BEST TO PICK SOMETHING WITH
SIMPLICITY IN MIND
-THE BUS STOP IS ENTIRELY CENTERED AROUND A SINGLE MAIN FOUNDATION, AN OLD TIME
DINER.
-THIS ALLOWS FOR THE ENTIRE SETTING AND LAYOUT OF THE SURROUNDINGS TO BE PREPROCESSED FOR US, THE ONLY MAIN NEEDS WOULD BE TO CREATE REALISM FROM THE
SURROUNDINGS, BUT THAT COMES DOWN TO RESEARCH OF THE TIME PERIOD THE PLAY
CENTERS AROUND.

3. This was tricky, with so many talented actors and actresses at our disposal, but in the
end, these were the talented few who we believed to be best suited for each roll. We
chose the actors we felt had good flexibility with rolls of this caliber, but were still
typecast enough for the roll as to not stray to far from the original depictions of the cast.

-In the Exposition of this show, once the cast is fully introduced, the problem is
determined to be the issue of a poor relationship between miss Cherie and Bo
-All of the cast members here-after are all intertwined into the meanings of
what a true relationship should be like, as almost everyone is in search of love,
or trying to understand love

6. -THE OVERALL THEME OF THE PLAY SEEMS TO REVOLVE AROUND
THE IDEA THAT LOVE CAN BE FOUND ANYWHERE AT ANY TIME
-USING THE SET DESIGN TO GET THIS PURPOSE ACROSS SEEMS
QUITE DIFICULT…AT FIRST, HOWEVER, AFTER A MOMENTS TOUGHT
WE CAME TO REALIZE THAT THE SET IN ITSELF CLEARLY GETS THE
POINT ACROSS THAT LOVE IS TIMELESS, AND CAN BE FOUND AT
ANY POINT IN HUMAN HISTORY.

7. Style of the Play
-Realism would be the best fit for this plays environment
-Allows the audience to fully embrace the idea that they are
in a bus stop diner.
-Most fitting style for this type of play, the structure is
straight-forward, and the set design should fit the play
-Allows the stage to become a portal to a previous time
period, full of the same ideas and principals of a time once
past.

8. My Directorial Concept for “The Bus Stop”
This play is all about isolation, dealing with one’s loneliness and selfworth, as well as finding happiness in life. In this play, the main idea I
would want to get across is self analysis and I’d do this by making
sure the actors emphasize those particular details in the play. When
characters such as Cherie, lecture on love, I want the audience to
think about their own personal relationships, past and present
compare what they currently feel or felt and see if they can find a
way to relate to this play. Able to relate with people going through
real life scenarios in an entirely different generation and era.
