How to make strategy work in a complex and unpredictable world. In its essence, strategy is simple. It is about answering two fundamental and interrelated questions: where to play and how to win.
Almost 200 Scandinavian top managers, managers and strategists participated in an intensive day at Implement Consulting Group focusing on how to develop a winning strategy in a world that is increasingly unpredictable.
Strategist and author of the bestseller Playing to Win, Roger Martin was challeging the typical strategy processes where we try to control the risk and uncertainty through elaborate and detailed planning. In his opinion these processes often seem to end up being long-winded, abstract and complex. Sometimes even without any clear choices being made.
Software Developers Guide to Fun in the Workplace: Euphoria Despite the DespairHolly Cummins
This document outlines strategies for having fun in the workplace presented by Holly Cummins and Martijn Verburg. It begins with an introduction on quantifying and measuring fun. It then provides a 20 step plan for achieving fun that includes ideas like creating a Chief Fun Officer role and installing a ball pit. The document discusses how fun can be good for business by increasing productivity and reducing sick leave. It also examines what types of activities and tasks are inherently fun versus unfun. Finally, it provides suggestions for how to introduce more fun elements like pairing, reducing meetings and estimates, focusing on prototyping, and increasing automation.
This document discusses how incorporating fun elements can enhance learning. It defines fun as providing amusement, enjoyment, or playfulness. The document argues that fun improves learning through reducing stress, boosting engagement, and creating positive neurological effects. It provides examples of how instructors have successfully used humor, games, stories, and lively personalities to increase learner enjoyment and participation in both classroom and online training. The overall message is that fun learning keeps learners interested and motivated, leading to better learning outcomes.
This document outlines a one-day event called "Dare to Play Innovation!" that experiments with playful and creative approaches to innovation. The event will take place at a playground and involve teams competing in an "Innovation Game" to solve business challenges. Participants will diverge and generate new ideas in the morning, exchange ideas with other teams at lunch, and focus on prototyping solutions in the afternoon. The goal is for participants to become familiar with playful innovation methods and get inspired by new ways of thinking.

Mind
Change comes through action. The game offers the opportunity to act in new ways in an inconsequential
setting. In other words, our mind doesn’t know the difference between real and pretend. Therefore, the
6. 5 WinWin Workshop Presentation | FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook
game is the perfect way for us to rewire our brains to behave in ways that are more beneficial to us.
Practice doesn’t make perfect, but rather perfect practice makes perfect, and since repeated actions
create new habits, the more you play the better you will get in real life!
Because the insights achieved through the game reflect real life, not only will players be regularly
reminded of their insights, but many will even deepen.
Because of the above two points, the effects of the workshop are long lasting. Not a big bang workshop
which leaves participants with a high that will fade, but rather small, valuable and lasting insights every
time one plays. This is the difference between inspiration and transformation.
Setting up the Room
It’s important to set up the room so that no participant’s back it to the presenter. Arrange tables
perpendicular to the presentation screen.
Have a sign in sheet and be sure to follow up with each participant after the event. (See example in
Apprendix)
Setting up the Game
1. Place the “stock” cards on the square between the two stock market bulls (the top right
quadrant).
2. “Business Opportunities” cards are to be shuffled and placed face down on the green square for
the Business Opportunities cards near the center of the board.
3. Shuffle the stack of “Action” cards and place them face down on the blue Action Cards squre on
the left side of the board.
4. Have 2 copies of the Icon Explanations handout on each table for each and every game. (See
Appendix – Icon Explanations Sheet)

Workshop
Presentation
Good morning and welcome to your first FreshBiz
Game-Based Workshop named Win to the Winth. For
most of you this will be your first exposure to this way
of thinking which is why we call this workshop
Experiencing Entrepreneurial Thinking. This workshop
is all about introducing and experiencing entrepreneurial thinking , but since this is only a 3-4 hour
workshop all we can do is help open your mind to this way of thinking and experiencing entrepreneurial
thinking for yourself. Later we will tell you how you too can implement these techniques into your
entire life. For instance, through the advanced workshop you will be able to practice and then master
entrepreneurial thinking. And through the Sandbox workshop you will be able to live entrepreneurial
thinking. This workshop is all about experiencing entrepreneurial thinking.
7. FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook | WinWin Workshop Presentation 6
Why Win to the Winth Power? This workshop was created to help you think in multi-dimensional ways
and to be able to create win to the winth power situations in everything you are doing. You want to be
a winner and master each of the different dimensions. Thus by combing those dimensions do we win
exponentially. You’ll see that it’s not about you and the other guy across the table for win-win
situations, which most people are already used to, but it’s about the ability to create situations where
you have many more winners than those sitting around the table. You want not only your partners to
be winners, your suppliers to be winners, your referrals, but you also want the entire globe and
environment to be winners as well. That is the idea behind Win to the Winth Power.
So who am I? My name is [ ]
So first things, first, I’d like to thank you for being here and showing up. Our goal for today’s
presentation is to help you see and understand multidimensional thinking so you can immediately apply
this to your life. This is not the type of workshop that you attend once and forget about it once you
leave here today. So, please give yourselves a round of applause for taking the time out of your busy
schedules to be here today.
Showing up is 90% of success when you are talking about entrepreneurship or anything else in life,
because nothing happens if you don’t show up. Too many good ideas never see the light of day because
no one actually showed up to make it a reality. We find all kinds of excuses, we tell ourselves all kinds of
stories on why not to show up, throw the dice, take the action, take a risk, doing something. So actually
showing up is the first step that you need in order generate change. Congratulations for showing up
from your normal routine.
Outline for today’s workshop.
Introduction session
Game for 90 minutes. Afterward we’re
going to go over some of your
experiences and insights while playing
the game and how they relate to your life
and discuss possible next steps.
Introduce Escalator Video
90% of success is simply showing up!
Welcome to the Game-Based Workshop for the
Development of Entrepreneurial Thinking
8. 7 WinWin Workshop Presentation | FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook
I know this video is silly, but who here has ever been stuck
in way or another? I know I have. I know one thing for
sure, it’s not funny when it happens to you. Not only that
but sometimes it can even happen more than once a day.
Of course the video is an exaggeration but we all come
across things we just don’t know how to deal with it. To
others it might be obvious, just like in the video. But when
we go through it, sometimes it’s difficult to see the
solution. It’s very familiar, we all go through it. I want you
all to feel comfortable, this is a safe place. We have all been in that situation, feeling stuck from time to
time. Basically this is what entrepreneurial thinking is all about. It’s about the ability to move yourself
ahead or forward when you find yourself stuck in a situation. So the idea is finding a way to move
forward when you find yourself stuck on the escalator.
Ask question “Is it easy solve the situation for the people stuck on the escalator?”
Okay, “what needs to be done?
Actually the problem is not about them moving their legs. As you saw, their legs are fine. They were
able to get on the escalator. Moving forward requires a change in mindset. And in order to understand
the mindset that is required to actually make the change and move forward and get to the end of the
escalator, they need to be able to answer a simple question…
Are you Happy? This is the first question we need to ask
ourselves when we want to solve a situation when we feel
stuck or unsatisfied with a particular situation. Most
people find themselves in a situation that they are not
happy with, that they’re not satisfied with but they are not
stopping to ask the question, “Are you happy?” Am I
satisfied with where I am, with the way my life looks like,
with the way my business looks like. First of all we have to
ask the question, “Are we happy?”
CLICK
CLICK
obviously there are only two ways to answer this
Are you
HAPPY?
9. FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook | WinWin Workshop Presentation 8
Yes and
No.
If your answer is yes, then that’s pretty easy.
Then keep doing what you are doing. You are obviously
doing something right. You are probably happy with the
situation. In other words, if it’s working for you, we don’t
want to mess with it. We only want to deal with the parts
that are not working for you in your life.
If the answer to this question is No, well, then. What do
you do now? That is if your answer is no.
Let audience answer…
There is a step, right before taking action, that we believe, is one of the most important questions that
people have to ask themselves, but they probably won’t or they don’t and that is …
Do you want to be happy? Most people will say, of course
I want to be happy that is a trivial question. But we
believe this is one of the most important questions that
has to be asked because most people just don’t ask this
question. Let me ask you, “Have you ever come across
someone who’s not really happy with his job but still
holding on to that same position for 20 years?” “Do you
know someone who’s not satisfied with his/her relationship, but keeps living with the same person for
decades?” “Do you know someone who is not satisfied with the results in his business but keeps running
the same business the same old way?” Sure we all know them. The reason this is happening is because
we are not stopping to ask ourselves, “Do we want to be happy?” And we are not stopping to ask
ourselves this question because we are raised by our parents and the educational system, society that
life isn’t supposed to be about being happy, being satisfied. It’s okay to have a lousy relationship, a
lousy business, a lousy job, life is not a picnic, this is part of life, life is on a scale of suffer, all kinds of
limited beliefs that we’ve been raised to believe that we shouldn’t do anything to improve ourselves and

our situations and change something about it. So, the most important question that you should ask
yourself, is, “Do I want to be happy?”
Now if the answer is No
Then keep doing what you’ve been doing. You’ll keep
getting the same results, everything will stay the same.
But if your answer is yes
What do you suppose we do?
Let audience answer
We change something
Einstein said the definition of insanity is
doing the same thing over and over again
and expecting different results. And that’s exactly what entrepreneurial thinking is all about. If you
want to generate new results if you want to change the situation you’ve got to change something. So
basically entrepreneurial thinking is all about being able to generate change

CHANGE
SOMETHING
Changing the way you play life
11. FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook | WinWin Workshop Presentation 10
We want you to gain the skills and ability
to change the way you play life. Life is a
game and we all play it. So what do I mean by “Play” life and life is a game. We don’t mean it in a silly
or playfulness way, we mean it in a way that has rules, skills and once you know the rules and once you
master the skills, then you can generate your own results. This is what life is all about; this is what
FreshBIz is all about. It’s all about changing the way you play life to get the new results that you would
like in your life. So how do we generate change?
I want to emphasize the word Generate, because we see “Generating” or entrepreneurship as the third
level of 3 levels. The first and basic level is the level of victimizing oneself, being a victim. Things
happen to you, circumstances happen to you, and you just blame everything and everyone. You blame
the circumstances, you blame the economy, you blame the boss, and you blame everyone for your
shitty life and your shitty results or whatever. This is called victimizing yourself. That’s the lowest and
we don’t deal with this. The second level is being responsible. Being responsible is the ability to
respond to situations as they occur. Response ability, this is where things happen to you, where all
kinds of circumstances come into your life, but now you have the ability to respond to them and be able
to control your life in a way that you’re not just a victim of the circumstances, but you can act according
to the different situations that you come across in your life.
The third level is that of an entrepreneur, is being able to generate the reality that you want to create in
your life. It’s not waiting for something to happen and then we act on it, it’s being able to generate
change. Just to say to yourself, “This is the reality that I want to create, these are the results that I want
to create”, and just go and do it. You’re not just in a position of reacting; you’re in a position of
generating. This is why it’s all about how to generate change. With FreshBiz as you play the game,
sometimes you are reacting, sometimes you take responsibility. But in order to be successful and happy
we need to be able to generate change. You see an idea, you see a result, and you just go and do it.
“What is required in order to generate change? Think back to the people on the escalator video, they
wanted to generate change right? What is needed for them to generate change?
Good, today we are going to talk about 3 ways to generate change.
Every time you find yourself stuck, you know that
there is a limiting belief that’s keeping you stuck
there. There is always one. So, if you go back to
the example of the people stuck on the escalator,
what limiting belief are they holding? They are
holding the limited belief that in order to get
from point A to point B, the escalator has to
move. That’s their limiting belief. Once they get
over that, it’s pretty easy to solve the problem,
right? But as long as they keep holding to that
How do we generate change?
Question
your
basic
beliefs
12. 11 WinWin Workshop Presentation | FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook
belief, they will be stuck on the escalator, probably for the entire weekend, because it looked like there
was no one in the mall to come and help them, right? So always look for the limiting belief. So, how do
you find the limiting belief? That’s pretty easy.
BTW, you might find yourself stuck on the escalator while playing the game. First, remember this is a
safe place and second you have to generate change in order to win. Whenever you are stuck ask
yourself, am I happy with my situation, do I want to be happy? If the answer is yes, then when you get
stuck ask yourself what is my limiting belief here in this situation.
So how do you find your limiting belief? It’s very easy. All you have to do is ask questions, and you keep
asking questions, until you come to a question, where the answer is, “Well, that’s life.” “That’s the way
it works.” When you come to this answer, you just found your limiting belief. I’ll give you an example,
let’s say for example you want to start a business. So you say, “Can I start a business?” “Well in order to
start a business I need some money. Can I get money? In order to get money I need to go to the bank
and get a loan. Can I get a loan? Well in order to get a loan I need to put up some collateral. Do I have
any assets to use as collateral? No. So can I get money? No. Why can’t I get money? Because I can’t get
a loan if I don’t have assets for collateral for the bank. Why not? Because that’s the way the banking
system works. This is the limiting belief. Once you realize that you put yourself in a situation where the
answer to your question is, “that’s the way life is”, you just found your limiting belief. Because of course
there are several ways to go around about raising money to start a business without using assets for
collateral for a loan. There can be all kinds of solutions but once you find yourself stuck in a situation,
when you say, “This is life and this is why I’m stuck” you just found your limiting belief. After you find
your limiting belief what is the next step?
Now, you have to look at things
differently. Remember the guys stuck
on the escalator? They just found out
that their limiting belief is that the
escalator has to move. Now, if I
change my point of view, what can
happen? There are a few possibilities.
Maybe someone can come over and fix
the escalator. Maybe I can move.
Maybe someone will come and pick
me up and take me to the top of the
stairs. There are all kinds of possible
solutions relevant to this situation. So
you have to look at things from a
different prospective. Change your
point of view. When you realize what your limiting belief is, you find different perspectives. You look at
it from a different way, now what?
Change
your
point
of view
13. FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook | WinWin Workshop Presentation 12
We have to take all
those new insights,
new beliefs, the
new point of view,
the new
perspective and
we have to
transform it, to
transfer it to life.
To generate
action, to do
something and it has to be something different, something that you haven’t done before, something
that is new to you, because if you keep doing the thing you are used to doing, you’ll keep getting the
same results. We’ve been through that already with Einstein’s quote and the definition of insanity. So
knowing the limiting beliefs, having new insights about it, having a different point of view about it is not
enough. You have to act on it and you have to do something that you haven’t done before. And just to
remind you, you are going to come across situations like this in life and in the game that you will be
playing in a few minutes.
So to reiterate, how do we generate
change?
And this leads us back to my original
question what is Entrepreneurial
thinking? What do you think?
Now this is our definition of
Entrepreneurial thinking. “We define
Entrepreneurial thinking as turning an
idea into reality. This is essentially
creating something from nothing. Now
some of you might be thinking I’m not a business owner or I’m not thinking about starting a new
business. Well, we believe that Entrepreneurial thinking is a mindset, a skill that is relevant for almost
any segment of life, business, relationships, parenting, whatever. We are all turning ideas into reality.
So that’s one thing. The second thing I want you to realize is that entrepreneurial skills are something
that we all have. It’s not that either you’re born with it or not, you can be an entrepreneur or you’re
not. It’s a mindset and it’s a skill, so it’s only a question of what level of entrepreneur are you? What

3. Do something different

14. 13 WinWin Workshop Presentation | FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook
level of skills do you have? How close are you to mastering the skills of being an entrepreneurial
thinker? Because we all turn ideas into reality.
Here are some examples of
Entrepreneurial Thinking:
Here are some pictures of
how New York City was
created in the last 200 years.
First one is of 1876, the next
is 1952, the third is 1988 and
finally 2013. It’s a big idea
turning into big reality. It
requires a lot of skills,
collaboration, opportunities,
action cards, this is a big
project. Of course you need
entrepreneurial thinking to
make this happen.
This is a picture of a
paver that paves tiles.
The business owner
used Enterpreneurial
thinking to generate
this amazing machine.
To generate ideas or
projects inside of an
existing business.
Because if you are an
executive in corporate
almost everything you
do is about turning
ideas into reality. Most
of us are what we are
called “knowledge workers”. We are no longer just sitting by a machine, turning a wheel, expecting a
product to come out at the end of the machine. We are all “knowledge workers”; which basically
means, we are getting paid to turn ideas into reality. All kinds of ideas; it can be ideas about marketing,
about production, about sales, about manufacturing, whatever. But we basically get paid to turn ideas
into reality. So everything that has to do with business has to do with entrepreneurial thinking.
15. FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook | WinWin Workshop Presentation 14
But entrepreneurial thinking is not only for business.
For instance a parent for a child, you wake up in the
morning, you go to the fridge, you see 2 slices of bread
and some cheese and that’s all you’ve got in your
refrigerator. You can either, complain and whine that
there is nothing to eat, or create a creative idea and
turn it into a very fun, cute sandwich. This requires
Entrepreneurial thinking, turning ideas into reality. So
it’s relevant to almost everything you do in your life.
And we want you to understand that just by showing
up to the FreshBiz workshop, just being here attending
this workshop, you can get added value not just for
your business or your job, you can get added value for
your life.
So why
entrepreneurial
thinking so relevant
nowadays?
Everybody’s talking
about
entrepreneurship
and creative
thinking and the
new game of life
and the new game
of business. It’s a
big buzz word right
now. And we have,
the new skills for becoming and developing your entrepreneurial thinking. Well we call I believe one of
the most powerful tools to teach how to handle the new game of life and the game of business. But in
order to do so, we just want to emphasize why this is so important nowadays to have it the Abundance
Paradox and the Flea Circus.
What is the Abundance Paradox? We all live now in a world that is full of options, opportunities and
resources. Ask: Who here has experienced any change in the world in the last 6 or 7 years? Because
everyone in the world is experiencing this change in the world now. Everyone knows that the way that
we live now is totally different than the way we used to live 20 or 30 years ago or even 10 years ago. I
really want to emphasize the point that we have gotten to a point in the development of human kind
that we actually have access to endless opportunities, options and resources. We have abundance of
The Abundance Paradox & the Flea Circus
16. 15 WinWin Workshop Presentation | FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook
options available to us at any given moment. And just to give some examples, we have access to all
knowledge known to human kind just by going to Google and searching. If you go to Google and you
search for something and you get zero results, then you probably know you have a typo, right?
And just by having access to all this knowledge that is available to world inhabitants gives you endless
opportunities because you shouldn’t be stuck in a situation where you want to do something but you
don’t know how to do it or you don’t have access to the information. We now have access to almost
any information that you are looking for. You also have access to almost anyone around the globe. We
have more than a billion people connected together with social media websites like Facebook, LinkedIn,
Skypee and Twitter and what’s even more amazing is you can contact all these people for free. We can
also get anywhere. Nowadays, in less than 24 hours and less than $3,000 dollars, you can get yourself to
any point around the world and do whatever you want to do there. We have access to unlimited
resources to turn our ideas into reality.
Although, this is not the experience that most people go through. They are not just moving along, taking
ideas, turning them into reality, everything flows, I have access to everything. I have resources available
to me and I feel the abundance and I feel the flow and things are really easy and I thrive and succeed in
everything that I do. On the contrary, most people are living in a situation where they are struggling,
they are compromising, and they don’t really know how to make things happen for them. This is why
we call it a paradox. On one hand we have everything available to us, but on the other hand, we don’t
seem to be able to use all those resources to have a better life, thrive and succeed. Why is that? The
reason we are experiencing this paradox is because of what we call the “flea Circus”
Well, we are all a bit like fleas. The
fleas were put in the jar for 3 days,
we’ve been put in the jar for over 200
years. From around the beginning of
the industrial revolution, we’ve been
taught to act and think in a certain
way. And that was relevant for about
160-170 years. Just to let you know,
about 30 years ago, they took off the
lid. About 6 or 7 years ago, they took
away the entire jar. But we keep on
jumping according the limit of the jar.
And just like the video, when the fleas
reproduced and the new generation
of fleas kept jumping at the limits of the jar although they never experienced an actual jar in their lives.
Same thing here with us. We are running FreshBiz workshops for kids from the age of 10, 12 and 15.
Those were kids that were brought up in a world that has no limits. No jar. But spending 7 or 8 years in
their parent’s home and the educational system, they are already jumping within the virtual jar. And
this is why most people are not able to enjoy all that we have around us, all those options,
17. FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook | WinWin Workshop Presentation 16
opportunities, resources. Doesn’t matter how big is the table around them; they keep jumping in the
limits of the jar.
This is what entrepreneurial thinking is all about. This is what FreshBiz is all about. It’s about creating
the mindset that people can understand that there is no longer a jar to jump in. They can go wherever
they want; they can jump all over the table and have a blast. This workshop is to introduce the idea of it
and make you aware so you too can have the skills and the knowledge on how to take advantage of all
those new opportunities. Welcome to the FreshBiz World.
I want to emphasize the point
that you can no longer keep
doing the things you’ve been
doing so far. Some of you
might be thinking I’m fine
with what I’m doing. I don’t
want to be an entrepreneur
or I don’t need to meet new
people or need opportunities.
I don’t want to travel or have
a blast. Let’s just keep things
the way they are.
Unfortunately, by doing the
things you’ve always done is
not going to give you the
same results you had in the
past. I hope you understand
how very important this is
because some people still
have the wrong mindset about generating change. They think that they need to generate change in
order to get better results. But we are now living in a situation that you have to generate change just to
keep the same results you’ve been used to. If we compare the effort needed to be done, let’s say 40
years ago, in the 70s, to what’s needed to be done now, in 2013 we can see that if you put the same
efforts into whatever you’ve been doing, you’re not going to keep getting the same results.
For an example, 40 years ago, you put reasonable efforts into building a career, you’re probably going to
end up where you’re used to end up, with reasonable results. You’ve probably had a good job, you kept
it for 30 years. You got your pension, you could probably even buy a house or something. That was the
realty for most people 40 years ago. Well that’s not relevant anymore. If you put in reasonable efforts
into building a career, probably you’re not going to stay in the same job for 40 years, 30 years. Probably
you’re not going to get a pension at all, since companies don’t offer this anymore. And most won’t be
able to buy a house. You have to put extraordinary effort just to be able to have enough money to have
a retirement account and buy a house. Not taking into consideration even just the fact that people are
Results vs Efforts
18. 17 WinWin Workshop Presentation | FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook
now living 20 or 30 years more than they used to. How do we keep living? How do we keep making
money? In order to generate income, you have to think about it in a different way.
Now this is relevant not only for running a business or having a job. This is also relevant for your
relationships too. 40 years ago if you put reasonable effort into your relationship, chances are that you
will end up with a decent relationship with the same person for 40 years. No more. If you put
reasonable efforts into running a relationship, most chances, actually more than 50 percent end up in
divorce. 25% of people that are getting married are getting divorced in the first year of their marriage.
You have to put extraordinary efforts into keeping your relationships. Same thing goes towards your
health. 40 years ago, if your put reasonable efforts into your health, into whatever you’re doing, eating,
exercising, you’ll probably end up in good shape at the age of 60, 70 or 80. That’s also not relevant
anymore, if you just put reasonable efforts into your health, you’ll find yourself with 30 percent with
cancer or all kinds of other diseases. Because this is just not the same world people used to live 40 years
ago. It’s not the same economy, it’s not the same environment, it’s not the same society, it’s not the
same food, it’s not the same air. Everything is changing just keep doing whatever your parents were
doing, what you’ve been doing for 30 years, won’t do it anymore. You have to understand that things
are changing and you have to change with it. And this is where entrepreneurial thinking comes along,
this is where implementing a new way of thinking will serve you the best. What we want is to put
reasonable efforts in and create outstanding results. And this is why we need entrepreneurial thinking.
What exactly generates the results
that we see in our life. So here is
our world of results. It’s made up of
3 elements
CLICK – The options we see
For instance if we don’t see the
landing on the moon as an option,
we’re probably not going to see it as
a result as well. Only when we saw
it as an option then we’ve been able
to create a reality about it. So, first
it’s made of the options we see in
life.
CLICK – What we believe is possible
for us
Because sometimes we do see options but we don’t see it as something that is possible for us. We see it
as something that is possible for other people, other countries, other realities, other way of life, but for
us. So in order for it to be able to turn it into a reality into results we have to see that this is possible for
us.
Our results
The options we see
What we believe
is possible for us
The action we take
19. FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook | WinWin Workshop Presentation 18
CLICK – The Actions we take
The things we do because results that show up in our life are part of what we do, the actions we take.
This is how the world of results is made. This is how things look to us. The idea of entrepreneurial
thinking is creating better results. I’m sure all of you would like to create better results in your life. Who
would like to create or generate better results in their life in some area? Raise your hand. All of you
who did not raise their hand you are free to go because everything that goes on in the workshop from
now on is all about creating better results. So if you are not interested in that feel free to leave you’re
just saving two hours of a workshop.
Some people like to work in Plan A in order to achieve 5 or 10 percent improvement in whatever you
want to generate change. It’s easy just get up an hour earlier and work that much harder. It’s been
done before and that’s how it’s been done for the past 40 years and it’s been called the rat race. We at
FreshBiz believe that the rat race era is over. There is a limit to how early you can wake up and how
hard you can work. And we’ve just reached this limit. Welcome to the entrepreneurship era.
CLICK
CLICK – Outstanding Results
Plan B is generating outstanding results, something that is totally different. Totally different in the
quality of the result that you are experiencing in your life. It can be results around business,
relationships, health, whatever. In order to create outstanding results, it’s not enough to wake up an
hour early and work a bit harder because you can’t work 10 times harder just to generate 10 times the
results because as we said a moment ago there is a limit to how hard you can work. Now
entrepreneurial thinking is not about that, it’s about doing something different, having more fun, having
a different mindset that can change dramatically the result that you will experience in your life. Please
keep in mind it’s not about the quantity but about the quality of the results because you can’t measure
results for your relationships or your health in quantity but in quality. FreshBiz is about teaching people
a new lifestyle. That lifestyle can be implemented into business, relationships, health, whatever. But it’s
about living life in a different way, using a different mindset, using a different set of skills that will
generate outstanding results for yourself. So the next session is all about generating outstanding
results! Who’s with me?
Up until now we’ve talked about the importance of
entrepreneurial thinking. Now I would like to briefly talk
about Gamification. How Gamification can give you the
ability to go through tremendous changes, just by going
through a 3 hour workshop. We want to emphasize why a
game based workshop is so effective. Here is a video which
shows how Gamification helped change behavior.

Stocks
“The active Business Opportunity card is what establishes the current price for buying and selling stocks,

Game
Instructions
The Goal of the Game:
Reach the “Winner” lot in 90 min
21. FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook | Game Instructions 20
Like any good business, you
want to know where to begin.
Each player begins at the
“Start” square with the
objective of reaching the
winner lot which is located in
the island, within 90 minutes
and without having any loans
from the bank. Each player in
turn, rolls the die and moves in
the direction of the arrows
according to the number of the die. The direction in which to move is according to the arrows on the
board.
When arriving at a new lot the player first performs the action according to the title of that lot (a
description of the titles appears on the Icon Explanation sheet on each table.
If the lot is empty (with no image on it) and the lot does not already have a business built on it the lot is
considered “Vacant for Business”. The player may choose to establish one of his/her available
businesses on that lot.
There are 4 quadrants on the
board. To move from one
quadrant to another one must
pay a toll fee (once paid) that
player may move back and
forth through that particular
toll passage as much as he/she
wants. The lot of toll itself is
counted as a step on the
board.
Each player begins with some
money but needs to generate
income during the game in order to advance through the quadrants.
You begin the game on the “Start” lot.
Throw the dice & move in the direction of the arrows…
As you pass through the first two sections,
you will need to pay the Toll Fee of 2 Million Dollars.
22. 21 Game Instructions | FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook
You will need to generate a total of
$9,000,000.
Each player receives 8 cards representing businesses at
the beginning of the game.
Each card states the name of the business in the card’s
title, the cost of establish the business is on the bottom of
the card and the profit granted by that business is in the
center of the card.
When a player wants to establish a new business on a
vacant lot, the player must pay the establishment fee for
that business to the bank and place the business on the lot
indicating that the business is no longer a vacant lot.
When a player lands on a business belonging to another
player, that player pays the owner the profit of the
business he/she landed on.
When a player lands on his/her business, the bank pays
that player the profit for that business.
When a player lands on a lot with the title “Collect Profits”,
he/she receives the sum of all the profits from the
businesses owned by the player on the board.
In all cases the person collecting money must request it. If the turn moves on to the next player without
collecting money that should have been collected (from another or the bank) is not paid out.
To enter the Island, you need to land
exactly on the “Pass To The Island” lot
and pay the final toll fee of 5 Million Dollars
As you go through the game, you can start
businessesto generate profits
How to start your business:
1. Place the business of your choice on
the vacant lot you are standing on.
2. Pay the establishment cost to bank
You profit every time that…
1. Anther player stands on your business…
(Collect the business profit from the player)
2. You stand on your business…
(Collect the business profit from
the bank
3. You stand on “Collect Profit” title…
(Collect the sum of profits of all
your businesses on the board)
23. FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook | Game Instructions 22
Most of the lots have titles above them.
If the color title is red the player must follow the action indicated by the
title.
If the title icon is green the player may choose whether to perform the
action ornot.
All Icons in the Island are mandatory.
These actions are performed as soon as the player lands on the lot with a relevant title.
Each card describes a business situation. This situation is relevant for all
the players.
Example:
If the card states that all profits are reduced by 50%, then as long
as this card is the active business opportunity all players can only
collect 50% of the profits they would have collected (from other
player or from the bank) if this card was not active.
If the card states that each player in turn may open a new business on any vacant lot, then each
player may choose to open a new business if desired.
Once a new card is drawn from the pile, it is placed on top of the previously opened card; the previous
Business Opportunity is no longer in play and from that point on, the new card displays the current
business opportunity. Each time a player lands on a lot titled Business Opportunity, the opportunity
may be changed.
Another portion of the situation described on the card is the price of the stock market. At the bottom of
the each Business Opportunity card you can see the current price for shares on the stock market.
Each Action Card describes an action that player can
perform and a tip on when it would be best to use that
card. Each player may use one card during each
player’s turn, meaning each player can use one card in
their own turn and one card during another player’s
turn, meaning each player can use one card in their
own turn and one card during another player’s turn as
well. When a player chooses to use an action card,
he/she should read the card aloud to all the players and
immediately takes action accordingly. After the action

action cards.
The tolls lots are counted as steps among the number of steps
allowed by the die.
In order to enter the Island, a player must land exactly on the
entrance square and must pay $5,000,000.
Once a player has entered the Island that player cannot be
removed to another location on the board using action cards. A player who is required to pay the bank
or another player and does not have the money to do so and is unable to come up with a solution for
the situation is declared bankrupted. The player is out of the game and all is his/her businesses are
removed from the board.
We are going to call each member at your game your team. If you have a question, ask a team member
and if collaboratively, as a team cannot find a solution, as a facilitator.
All business related activities between players is both allowed and recommended, as long as the game’s
rules are not breached. For example: one player may loan money to another or sell businesses to each
other, creating partnerships and so on.
Ready to start?
Choose one of the players to be the banker.
Place the chips by the banker chosen.
Each player chooses a character with whom to play the game.
The character should be placed on the start lot with the big
black arrow (bottom right corner of the board) and each player
should take the pile of business cards for their character into hand. The banker deals five Action Cards
to each player to start with (once used, the cards are returned to the bottom of the pile).
The banker opens the top Business Opportunity card, reads it to all the players (including the Stock
Price) and places it face up on the board (below the pile of closed cards) so everyone can see it.
Each player roles the numbered die to determine how much money he/she will start with. Each player
gets $1,000,000 times the number on the die; i.e, rolling a 3, results in the player starting with
$3,000,000.
The player with the lowest amount of starting money plays first and the game continues clockwise from
that person.
The Team
All interactions between players are allowed,
as long as it doesn’t contradict the rules of the game
(Loans, Partnerships, Buy, Sell, Agreements, etc.)….
Let’s Start!
Each player rolls the die & receives
1 Million Dollars X the number on the die from the Banker

30 Minutes into the Game
“At this point, loans will now be available from the bank in increments of $1 Million. If you would like to
take a loan of $1 Million you will need to pay a $300,000 security deposit and $100,000 in interest
before receiving the loan. When the bank receives this $400,000 you will receive $1 Million in a loan
card. To pay your loan back, give the bank $1 Million dollars and the loan card, and you will receive your
$300,000 deposit in return. You cannot win the game with any outstanding loans to the bank.”

45 minutes into the Game: Half Way Mark
“Everyone take a minute to look at where you stand right now. We are exactly half way through the
game. Remind yourself of your objective and what your plan is for achieving it. What resources do you
have? How can you better leverage them? Think for a moment about how you’ve played the first half
of the game and take the second half of the game as an opportunity to try new ways of playing. You
have 45 minutes left. Good luck!”

Paid
Coaching
“We are 60 minutes into the game and at this point every player will be receiving a red Business
[Initiative] card. This card is like a Joker or a Wildcard and you can use it whenever you want to take
advantage of one of the 4 opportunities listed. So use it to your benefit during the remaining 30
minutes.”
“You will now also have the opportunity to hire an amazing coach for only $1 Million dollars. If you
choose to hire a coach, they will be available to you until the end of the game for the sole purpose of
helping you win.”

Guidelines for Paid Coaching
Before starting any coaching, collect your $1 Million!
1. Start with identifying what the player’s goal is. Make it specific as possible. Make sure they get
the difference between their ultimate goal and the steps they need to take to get there.
2. Next ask the player what is missing in order for them to reach their goal. Are they short on
cash? Are they too far away from the winner’s circle?
Play
26. 25 Group Reflection | FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook
3. Now identify what resources are available to the player. Ask don’t tell. Help them realize, if
they haven’t already, that they have MANY resources available, ranging from their own Action
cards, other players’ action cards, business opportunities, business [initiations], to money,
businesses, loans, stocks, deals with other players…etc.
4. Help the player in finding creative solutions to his/her challenge using the resources available to
them. Ask them questions like:
What is your goal?
What needs to happen in order to reach your goal?
How will you know you have achieved your goals?
How will you measure your goal?
What is between you and your goal? Money or Movement?
What’s available to you? What’s available outside of your resources?
What is the business initiatives worth to you?
What do you have that could help you move closer to the winners circle?
Is there anything you could leverage to get more cash?
5. Walk away from the table! It’s the coach’s role to show the player how to play smarter an reach
their goals, not to DO it for them. Make sure to give them the tools and then let them use them
on their own.
90 Minutes into the Game: GAME OVER!
“Your time is now up. Take a look at the board and reflect for a minute on where you are and how you
got there.”
“Now take a 5 minutes stretch break and meet back here at ________”
Group
Reflection
“Think about how you just played that game. In
what ways was it the same or different than the
way you act in real life? Was the way you felt and
acted while playing the game familiar to you?
Was there someone at your table who rubbed you the wrong way? How did that affect your game? Are
there people like this in your real life?
“Work harder on yourself
than you do on your job”
Jim Rohn
Share your experience &
bring those insights to life
27. FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook | Group Reflection 26
Who would like to share an insight they had about themselves while playing the game? Something you
learned about how you show up in real life.”
[You can go one by one if it’s a small group or pick a few people if you are short on time. We want to
hear about people’s understanding of themselves, not about the game itself. As a coach, your role is to
get the players to have a breakthrough. It is not your job to make sure everyone is happy or comfortable.
Change is usually not comfortable and will require a stretch. Don’t be afraid to push the players toward
new ways of thinking and being. Remember this is your workshop and you are in charge. If others
disagree- that’s ok!]
Possible questions Include: What was your goal? What did you notice about the way you played? Is
that familiar in real life? What will you take from the game into your life? How will your life be different
if you acted in that new way? Why is that important to you?
If someone tries to talk about the game, bring it back to their experience. “Are you usually disappointed
with opportunities you are given? Is it normal for you to be analytical of learning experiences? What is it
that you want in your life that you didn’t get tonight?”...etc]
Now that this game is over, let’s turn back to how we play the game of “real life”. How different would
your life be if you were playing without the limiting beliefs you played this game with?
I’m going to show you a cartoon video that makes a very important point.
So, are you ready for some more dimensions?!
YEH! Ok great – well here we go!
Sometimes we view life as two dimensional just
like in the game where we see our starting point
and the goal and then move forward from point A
to point B.
While multidimensional thinking uses many
different dimensions together in order to achieve
better and faster results i.e.; discovering short cuts
and quantum leaps
From:
2-D thinking
To:
Multi-Dimensional Thinking
28. 27 Group Reflection | FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook
We started off with a flat board and general guide
lines describing our starting point and goal.
Then we started to layer it with more and more
rules, options, and opportunities. We call these;
dimensions, since each one of these layers opens
up an entirely new realm of possibilities to interact
with and to use. Some of you looked at the
dimensions as rules and restrictions that were
confusing or complicated. But those of you who
saw the dimensions as possibilities for exponential
growth definitely had a more fun and successful
game!
Let’s take a look at the analogy between the dimensions of the game and real life:
[It’s important for the players to realize that the dimensions are representative and not literal. When we
go over the dimensions we want to ask who did not use each particular dimension, and occasionally ask
for some reasons why they chose not to. The goal is to uncover some of the “limiting beliefs” that cause
people to miss out on leveraging opportunities for success. It’s not “bad, good, right, or wrong” if they
did or didn’t take advantage of a dimension, but rather an area that we want to bring awareness to so
that next time they can choose to use it from a place of conscious power and not from an unconscious
and inherited limiting belief.]
Dice: Action/Movement
The die resembles the speed of our progress and the size of our next steps towards our goal and
milestones we have set along the way. Sometimes we take a huge step and end up with consequences
that we either expected or didn’t.
How fast and how often do we take action? Often people don’t take action; they don’t roll the die
because of fear... Fear of failure, fear of the unknown, fear of making a mistake, fear of succeeding, etc.
But when we don’t act, nothing changes. So many people get stuck on the time they once acted and
failed, so they stop trying. Don’t ever get stuck on last turn’s roll, just keep throwing the dice!
Coaching: Learning from Others
Common beliefs about coaching: I don’t want help, I don’t need help, getting help is “cheating”, I didn’t
really win because I had help, and I want to succeed by myself.
Are things already good for you? Great! They can still get better through the growth and development
that comes through coaching. Examples: Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan has a coach!
Multi Dimensional Thinking
29. FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook | Group Reflection 28
Coaching is about using someone else’s point of view as a tool. We all have a different point of view
which is created and limited by our unique life experiences. The more quality point of views we have
access to, the more educated of a decision we can make about things.
“I’ve seen so far because I stand on the shoulders of giants.” ~Galileo
”Smart people learn from their mistakes, but brilliant people learn from the mistakes of other.”
Team: Competition vs. Collaboration
We is the new me. We go a lot more in depth about how and why this is true these days, but in short-
The new game of business and organization is based on collaboration not competition. Talk about
Kickstarter, Wefunder, etc...
Life and economics are not zero-sum games. What I achieve does not detract from your achievements,
and on the contrary, it probably could only help. Did you notice that the first person to get to the island
had the opportunity to advance others to the “Pass to the Island” spot? We get much further ahead
working together as a team than as opponents.
We were brought up playing games and going to school with the notion that there is one winner and
everyone else loses, but life isn’t like that. We can all achieve our goals. It’s possible for everyone to win
in life.
There’s no second place in life. Do you get on the bus and say “oh no - I got on the bus 5th
”! No because
your goal is to get where you need to go & it doesn’t matter!
If we play our marriage like a competition it will most likely end in divorce. If we play driving like a
competition it will most likely end in an accident or death.
Looking at life through the lens of collaboration and not competition is more successful, full of more
opportunities, and is also WAY more enjoyable.
Competition is NOT the reason we fail. We fail if we aren’t creative, adaptable, or flexible enough to be
different from others in our industry (Story of Wallmart founder who’s idea and store was taken from
his landlord)
Loans: Buying money
Just like a computer or anything else we buy in order to improve our performance and success,
sometimes we need to buy money. In life, many of us take loans all the time but they’re disguised in
other names, such as mortgage, credit card, car payment, etc... It is only when we actually call a loan a
loan that some people get nervous about it.
Talk about the distinction between “good debt” versus “bad debt” just like good fat versus bad fat. A
loan for an asset is different from a loan for a liability i.e.: investing in a business vs. buying a television
set
30. 29 Group Reflection | FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook
Money: The means to an end
$ is not the goal, it is just a resource. This game just like the game of life, isn’t about how much money
you have – it is simply a tool to help you achieve your objective.
Being able to use our resources to create money is another tool for achieving our goals. Instead of
focusing on money, zoom out, and focus more on your objectives and providing value, and then the
money will come.
Are we focused on accumulating money or creating a cashflow?
Stocks:
The
things
we
don’t
understand
Many of us look at the stock market like a casino, but to people who know how the stock market works,
it is not like a casino at all. People who understand the stock market can use it as a tool to create money
with little (& sometimes no) risk.
We tend to be afraid and shy away from things we don’t understand. Think about how different your life
would be if you embraced and learned about those things you don’t yet know or understand.
You are probably just a few YouTube videos away from learning everything you need
A lot of our money is actually in the stock market already! Do you have insurance, a pension fund...
you’re already investing in the stock market.
Stocks in the game represent the tools we have access to but don’t necessarily understand. The more of
these tools we learn about and gain understanding from, the more resources we will have at our
fingertips for achieving our goals.
Casino: Risk
There is risk in almost EVERYTHING we do in life. Leaving your house in the morning is a risk, buying
something, having a baby, asking someone on a date... we play the casino many times every day. How
great would it be if some of the risks that we took in our life had 50/50 odds like in this casino? Do you
know what the odds are of opening a successful business? We’ll get to that soon!
Action Cards: What you have to offer
In the game some of you hid the cards and didn’t even realize you could work with other peoples’ Action
Cards. Do you have a better chance at reaching your goal with 4 action cards or with 20?! S a m e thing
in life. Some of you were even playing with 0 action cards because you didn’t even know what cards you
had to leverage!
Action Cards in life are the various things you bring to the table. This can be knowledge, skills, talents,
strengths, resources, connections, languages...
31. FreshBiz Facilitator Handbook | Group Reflection 30
Do you let other people know about your talents and resources or do you selfishly keep them secret?
Are you looking for opportunities to collaborate with people who have complementary Action Cards or
are hiding your Action Cards from possible competitors?
Homework: make a list of 40 action cards! The more cognizant and aware you are of what you have to
offer the more leverage you will have in your life for getting what you want!
Business Opportunities: The opportunities available to us at all times
We all have many opportunities available to us at all times. Are we aware of them or are we so lost in
our own brain fog that we don’t see them?
Reaching your goals is not dependent on what other people give to you, but rather the opportunities
you seek out and create for yourself. When you look at everything a s an opportunity to grow and
develop, then you will always win-even if you don’t get what you expected.
Businesses: The source of money and energy
Starting businesses in the game is parallel to not only starting new businesses in life, but any source of
money and energy that supports your goals. We’re not saying you should go out and set up 10
businesses or even 2. What we are talking about is having multiple streams of income. We need money
and energy to function in this world and we need to make sure we have those two resources coming in
from various places. Why?
Some of you didn’t set up many businesses in the beginning because you were thinking that the only
way you make money was if someone lands on it. But once you realized that you can collect profits and
reap the rewards of the seeds you planted all across the board, you were much more motivated to
create businesses.
In the FreshBiz casino you had 50% chance of winning. That’s a way better chance of success than
starting a business in real life, where the statistics are that 90% of businesses fail in the first 3 years.
We’re not here to tell you not to open that new business, but rather what you can do to creatively be a
part of the winning 10%.
Taking calculated risks
“The more dimensions we master the better results we
get. Raise your hands if you know, and you know that you
know that you will do much better when play FreshBiz
again for a second, third, and fourth time? OF COURSE!
For them any that go through our FreshBiz curriculum
around the world, you cannot even imagine the results
that are possible and are waiting for you as you develop
your skills and your thinking. Just like many of you know
how much better you will do in business and in life as you

gain more knowledge and experience.
Entrepreneurial thinking is a skill or a muscle which can be developed and improved.
Take a few moments now to begin writing a list of the different dimensions in your life and business. The
more you master those dimensions, the better you will be at using them individually & in combination.”
In the game we role the die and then move accordingly, but
could you just imagine how limiting it would be if all our
activity came from just the die? That would be like in real
life getting a “safe and secure” job and then waiting and
hoping for the salary raise at the end of each year, and
maybe one day a promotion too which is definitely a step
forward but not the leap we deserve. There is no book
called the “The Millionaire Employee”, Right? So we need to
go beyond the die!
In Multi Dimensional thinking we are looking for the Quantum Leaps. In the game, we can achieve
quantum leaps using Action Cards, Business Opportunities, partners, joint ventures and so on.
In real life, start thinking of what dimensions and resources we can put together that will make a huge
difference rather than looking for the small steps that move us only one step at a time.”

When you started, you might not have realized all
the opportunities available to you. But now you
are aware of them and will see them everywhere.
It will be up to you to take advantage of them.
How can you apply this to your life?
I invite you to think about how you can benefit
from endless opportunities?
“How many options do you think you had when
you began the game? A handful? More than 10?
If you wanted to build a successful business in the field that interests you - How many options do you
think you could come up with to help you succeed?
“Whatever the number, it is still very limiting.”
The truth is, there are...
“more than 10,000 options and combinations of
options in the game even on the very first turn.
When you take into account all the people we can
interact with, and all the many opportunities for
leverage and consulting we actually have endless
options to choose from but still we might find it
challenging to come up with more than 10 and any
given time.

Changers
Games Changers is a full day event. You begin the same with the Win to the Winth Power workshop
then break for lunch. After lunch you will play the game again for 60 minutes with goals and skills the
host wants to emphasize. Loan, business initiatives and coaching is available from the beginning.
Enlarging the Pie – to Foster Collaboration
Goal to reach the winner’s lot with 4 times what you started.
To Foster Creativity
Goal: to get to the winners lot with $4,000,000. Every time they cross a toll, they need to give up all
their money to the bank except for $500,000. Rule, money cannot be given away to another player.
To Foster Risk/Movement
Use both dice. Green moves forward, red moves backwards. Once you land on the island lot, if you go
backwards, then you do not need to land on the island lot again to move into the island.
To Foster Collaboration – Money with Talent
Roll 6 = $6,000,000 + No Action Cards
Roll 1 = $1,000,000 + 5 Action Cards, etc.
The idea is to foster collaborate between the money holders and talent.
To Promote Different Ways of Thinking
1. Only use Action Cards on your own turn
2. Use all your Action Cards before reaching the business center.

Explanations
Casino – The player can place an amount of money he wants to play with on the
circle of the casino, and then roll the red/green die. If it is a green, then the player
get their money back plus the same amount from the bank. If red, the bank collects
the money on the board. Each player only has 1 chance to play each time.
Business Opportunity – A player who lands on a square titled Business
Opportunity
has
the
option
to
pick-‐up
the
top
card
from
the
pile
of
Business
Opportunity cards and replaces the current opportunity.
Stock – A player who lands on a square titled Stocks may choose to buy or sell up to
2 stock shares at the current market value (market value is written on the bottom of
the active Business Opportunity card).
New Action Card -‐ A player who lands on a square with this title may take the
number of Action Cards stated in the title.
Get a million -‐ A player who lands on a square with this title receives $1,000,000
from the bank.
Pay expenses – A player who lands on a square with this title MUST pay the bank
the sum of all the profits of their own businesses on the board.
Collect Profits – A player who lands on a square with this title receives the sum of
all the profits of their own businesses on the board. The profits are paid by the
bank, and only at the request of the player who asks for their profits.
Pay a million – A player who lands on a square with this title MUST pay $1,000,000
to the bank.
Double the profits – The profits of a business placed on this lot are always doubled
when collecting ALL profits or paying expenses.
Sell a business – A player may sell 1 of their businesses. The player receives the
initiation price of that business from the bank, and then removes the business card
from the board, and places it back in their hand.
Send a player to the "pass to the island" lot. Move one of the players that are not
in the island to the pass to the island lot (The player still has to pay the passing
toll). This action is mandatory.
Play Again – Throw the dice again.
Waits a turn – Don't play on your next turn.
