Will is used to make promises, predictions, or spontaneous decisions about the future, and can also express thinking or hoping about possible futures. Going to is used to talk about planned or scheduled future events, or to make predictions that are evident based on present circumstances. Some examples include using will for promises like "I'll help you" and predictions like "I will climb the difficult wall", and using going to for plans like "next year I'm going to Tenerife" or evident predictions like "it's going to rain" based on cloudy skies.
