The document summarizes the observations of various plants and animals during an educational field trip. It provides the taxonomic classification and key characteristics of 5 organisms observed - the Cyrtophorasp spider, honeybee, chameleon, dragonfly, and the terrestrial flower Eranthemum pulchellum. Multiple choice questions are then provided to test understanding of the observations.
2. First of all I and my group members give a hearty „Thank
you‟ to all the guides, teachers and the supporting
members for taking us to an educational tour at beautiful
place. In this trip we were divided into various groups. We
were accompanied by respected Mrs. Anita
mam, Rajeshree mam and Satej sir. When we reached
there we were introduced a new term of a field trip namely
“SYSTAMATEC”. Our main aim was to find different
species of plants and animals. There were many
organisms, but we found some of them.

5. CHARACTERISTICS OF CYRTOPHORASP
• The Tent-web
spiders(genus Cyrtophora), althou
gh technically orb-webspiders (family Araneidae), do
not build orb webs. Their tentlike, highly complex non-sticky
web is sometimes considered a
precursor of the simplified orbweb. These webs are aligned
horizontally, with a network of
supporting threads above them.
Females have a body length of
mostly about 10 mm.

8. Bees are flying insects that
are related to wasps, hornets
and ants. Most bees have
short, thick bodies covered
with hair and , like all
insects, six legs and three
body parts : head, thorax and
abdomen. The thorax In turn
has three segments, each with
a pair of legs. A tiny waist
connects the thorax and
11. CHARACTERISTICS OF CHAMELEON
Chameleons are best known for their
ability to change colors easily.
Scientists now believe that colors
change in response to differences in
temperature, light, and the
chameleon's mood. Colors may change
in both males and females or only in
males, depending on the species, or
type, of chameleon. Some species can
change color only into shades of brown.
When the chameleon is excited, stripes
or patterns may appear. Sleeping or ill
chameleons tend to be pale.

Kingdom : Animalia
Phylum
Class
: Arthropoda
: Insecta
Order
: Odonata
Family
: Libellulidae
Genus
: Orthetrum
Species

14. CHARACTERISTICS OF DRAGONFLY
A dragonfly is an insect and so has
three main body segments and six legs.
However, unlike other insects, the
dragonfly relies entirely on flight for its
movement; it does not use legs to walk
but only for holding onto foliage during
rest, grasping a mate during copulation
and for grasping prey. Other
characteristics that set the dragonfly
apart from other insects are the
eyes, wings, flight speed and
maneuverability during flight. Dragonfly
eyes consist of approximately 28,000
individual telescoping lenses called

Class
: Magnoliophyta
: Magnoliopsida
Order
: Lamiales
Family
: Acanthaceae
Genus
: Eranthemum
Species
: Pullchelum
17. CHARACTERISTICS OF E.PULLCHELUM
Eranthemum pulchellum (Eranthemum
nervosum, English: Blue Eranthemum, or Blue
Sage) is a strongly branched shrub, popular with
gardeners in tropical India and China because of
the spikes of flowers that are bright gentian
blue - an unusual color in the tropics. The
flowers appear from green-and-white veined
bracts that remain after the blooms
fall, forming a column several inches long. The
hairy leaves are large and dark green. A
sprawling shrub which may reach a meter or
more in height, E. pulchellum is usually kept
lower and bushier through pruning. Light shade
is preferred in a garden; in a greenhouse it
needs warm conditions. It is also present in
white shades.
