Wikipedia is a collaborative online encyclopedia that allows anyone to edit its articles, in contrast to traditional encyclopedias that have formal authorship. While Wikipedia aims to be collaborative, in practice it is dominated by a small group of administrators and highly active editors, who are responsible for most article content and have powers to remove content or editors. This concentration of power among a few calls into question whether Wikipedia truly achieves its goal of being a collaborative project.
