President’s Message
We’ve focused on goal setting the last couple of months. I just wanted to follow-up with a quick
reminder.
Know Your Goals - We've all heard this before, but as time goes on we forget our goals, or they get
pushed to the back of our mind. If we don't know where we're going, how will we know when
we've arrived? A goal is just a target, and targets are things we strive for, they keep us focused and
intent on moving toward them. Review your goals and check how close you are to reaching them. If
you haven't set yourself goals then you're at sea with no compass and no paddles.
Be Positive - Everyday things happen that set us back a little, and they often seem to take on more
importance in our lives than the good things that occur. Remind yourself every morning to
approach the day with a positive attitude, based on the fact that it is a new day and anything is
possible. It is important not to bring forward any negativity from yesterday.
Keep Learning - Try to learn at least one new thing everyday. It can be absolutely anything; take a
look at what your competition is up to; randomly look at how companies in other industries are
marketing themselves and see if you could adapt the ideas to your business; read a blog written by
someone in your market; ask one of your employees what you could do to make them more efficient
in their job. It really doesn't matter what you learn, but learn something, and here's a thought - write
it down and keep a record of all this new information in an ideas journal. Then, next time you want
to stimulate your creativity, refer back to all those great things you learned.
You are all amazing women and are such an inspiration to me. I look forward each month to be
able to rub shoulders with you!

technology transfer operation. Commercialization and Regional
Development represents the entire university and derives its strength from
USU’s world-class faculty, students and staff. The Commercial Enterprises
unit works closely with our academic and industry partners to develop new
technologies by “spinning-in” business innovation opportunities. One such
innovation has led to industry-sponsored research and $15M in future

Logan Film Festival Announces 2013 Film Line Up
LOGAN—Logan Film Festival (LFF) has announced the 2013 Film Line-up and tickets are now
available online at loganfilmfestival.com.
LFF is scheduled to commence on Thursday, March 21, 2013 and close on Saturday, March 23,
2013 presenting three (3) days of independent film screenings, community events and
educational workshops. Currently, venues include the Caine-Lyric Theatre and the Dansante
Theatre.
LFF is a celebration of independent cinema from around the world and promotes a greater
appreciation of the art and commerce of filmmaking. LFF is dedicated exclusively to truly self-
financed filmmakers and seeks to inspire young filmmakers and emerging filmmakers to help
them succeed in the film industry.
THE FILM LINE UP
This year the 3-day festival will screen 48 dramatic, animated, and documentary films covering a
wide variety of subjects and genres including Drama, Comedy, History, Social Justice, Health
Awareness, Youth, Family, Arts and Culture. The LFF features 24 world premiere films and 8
films which have won honors at previous festivals. The LFF website provides film synopses,
trailers, schedule, and parental advisories.
The festival also hosts an Opening Night Gala, Filmmaker Reception, Awards Ceremony,
Lectures, ‘FAM’ Tour, and HUB which offers great opportunities to visit with talent and
filmmakers.
The Festival HUB, located at the historic Caine-Lyric Theatre, built in 1913, located at 28 West
Center Street, Logan, Utah, and the Dansante Theatre are open to VIP PASS and ALL ACCESS
CINEMA PASS holders only.
LFF is hosted by the City of Logan, Utah. Logan is one of the few cities in Utah with a National
Historic District with wonderful old buildings and mansions in a picturesque mountain valley
(Cache Valley), surrounded by century old farms, incredible mountain and valley scenery, and
