INITIAL POST
Hi, class, it wasn’t easy to come up with a problem, but after thinking for a long night, it was easy to chose one. In my human resource career, I will consider cultural diversity in a professional working environment. I have a weakness in adapting to changes in working environment and the people I find there. The article that I found, and my introduction worked well. However, I still need to add more content to my first paragraph to sound more convincing. Here is my draft:

Subject: Considering Cultural Diversity in Organizations
How often does cultural diversity in organizations affect the way they operate? Globalization and increased customer goods and services demands, have encouraged many organization to venture into the international market to continue expanding their businesses. Organizations must expand their employee base by employing many skilled personnel from different cultural backgrounds. Negative outcomes of cultural integration in workplaces, affect their goods and service delivery. Johnson & James, a global health company cannot assume this fact, as its operation are also affected by cultural diversity. These challenges the companies’ operation in delivering its goods and services, creating a deficit in services and financial surges. The issue can be addressed by the company conducting motivational, leadership and behavioral workshops to enhance diversity training and development.
According to Alhejji et al. (2016), diversity training programs enhances development of employee knowledge, skills, and attitude which enhances culture in a workplace. Many organizations utilize cultural diversity in their workplace to encourage innovation and development of new-problem solving ideas. In an organization setup, employees need to come up with innovative ways of improving service delivery and enhancing customer-employee relationship. Employing personnel from different cultural background provides an organizational frontier to achieve it. However, poor management of cultural diverse teams, can result in a company losing it credibility to the customer purchasing power.
I know I can find a solution to this problem soon.
Here is my question: what can I add to the first paragraph to make it more effective?
Thanks!

Mission Statement:

Services Offered:

Family Health Services serves clients from 5 years old to death.
They serve regardless of income or class thus why their mission statement is “quality care that has no barriers.”
About the Social Worker
Katelyn Miller MSW, LISW-S
Katelyn’s Role at Family Health Services is to provide counseling
to a local school. This is separate from the guidance counselor.
Katelyn will have students come in via appointment while they are
In school, which overcomes the barrier of transportation when it
comes to children getting access to mental health resources.
Social Worker’s Professional History
Work History
Katelyn came to her position at Family Health Services after several different experiences with different agencies. She first worked with hospice care, and then went to community mental health. After her experiences there she went to work with child welfare. After working for a bit in child welfare she became a mother overnight to three children entering the system. She then took a brief break from working in the field so she could navigate motherhood. She then landed at Family Health Services where she is today.
Education History
From a young age Katelyn knew she wanted to be in a field where she could assist those with significant mental health struggles.
Katelyn attended Bluffton University to receive her Bachelors degree in Social Work and continued her education at the University of Tennessee Knoxville where she graduated with a Master of Science in Social Work.
Professional Advancement
Because Katelyn has her LISW-S she has the ability to take on supervisory duties. As her organization grows there is a chance that she could use her credentials to help prepare and teach other Social Workers. She could potentially become the supervisor of the school counseling department at Family Health Services.
Katelyn currently is content with her current standing and has no plans on advancing at the moment. However, she is aware that there are many opportunities for her to grow at Family Health Services.
For professional advancement she also continues her education and does the mandatory thirty hours of CE education to maintain licensure.
Satisfaction and Self Care
Katelyn informed me that she is incredibly satisfied with her job. She referred to herself as a “die-hard social worker” and says she would not want to be anywhere else
For self care she takes baths, meditates, and is very active at her church.
As a word of advice, she told me that I should always know myself, and my boundaries. She said that self care is so important so that you do .

President’s Message
Work-Life Balance: It's what we all want... balancing work and life to ensure
enough time is spent with the people or activities that matter most to us, and
having an acceptable level of work to meet our financial and ego needs. A
balance between the two is a hard-won goal, one that very few working adults are
able to achieve... especially in an economy where layoffs at work threaten
everyone's security. Slowing down doesn't seem to be an option.
But, being all work and no play has some serious consequences. First, and most
dangerous is fatigue... sapping your ability to work productively and think
clearly... not what you need for ideal work performance. You also lose out on
time with friends and family, which leaves you feeling left out, lonely and might
do some lasting harm to these important relationships in the process.
It doesn't have to be that way - we can have a more even work/rest-of-our-lives
balance by employing these seven smart tips. (cont’d)
2. Work-Life Balance (cont’d)
1. A little goes a long way: so don't get overwhelmed thinking you have to make large
changes to give you a more balanced schedule. Take 10 to 15 minutes for something
that's relaxing... a bath, reading, a nice walk, listening to your favorite music,
gardening... anything that takes you mind away from work. Remember to set realistic
goals!
2. Schedule time for things you love: so that every week, you make it a point to plan time
with your family, friends or engaged in hobbies or other activities that recharge you.
Even an hour or two is enough. What's more, by putting these things right on your
calendar you have an event to look forward to, plus an incentive to get things done for
work so that you won't have to cancel.
3. Get rid of activities that take your time and drain energy: Decide what's necessary
and what you don't enjoy or can't handle. While it may be difficult to say "no" at first,
with practice it gets easier. If you're struggling, remember it's your time to spend how
you choose... not how others choose for you. Do what needs to be done, and leave the
rest.
4. Cut time wasters at work: Time wasters can make your workdays longer than they
really need to be.
5. Take advantage of scheduling options: ask about flex hours, a compressed workweek,
job sharing or telecommuting, as this will give you an increased sense of control over
your working hours.
6. Don't let routine errands run you: You might try organizing errands in batches.
Consider swapping services with friends - yard work for babysitting, for example. Even
if money's tight, you'll find the time you save by automating some errands to be well
worth the investment.
7. Nurture yourself: by eating well, getting enough sleep and being active. Regular
exercise, according to the experts, can actually help you get more done by giving you
energy and a better ability to concentrate. It's also important for you to leave work at
work. Even though technology means we can always be connected, this also often means
no boundary between work and home, unless you create one yourself. Make a conscious
decision to turn off the cell phone, shut down the computer for family time.
Remember, balancing work and life is a continuous process that will change as your family,
interests and work situation change. Keep at it. Tammy Selley, WIB President
3.
