The whooping crane is a white bird with black facial marks and legs, as well as a red patch on its head. It has very long legs and produces 2-4 young after migrating with its parents to a harbor in Texas. While their numbers have increased to over 300 since protections were established, whooping cranes still face threats like oil spills and power lines. They are omnivores that eat fish and moss.
