exists anywhere in the world.
- For example: the Dawson’s Caribou is extinct, due to
overhunting and habitat destruction.
3. - A species threatened with imminent extinction or
extirpation throughout all or a significant portion of its
Canadian range.
- For example: the Grizzly Bear is endangered, due to
overhunting, poaching, and habitat destruction.
4. THE WHOOPING CRANE
The Whooping Crane is endangered because of:
- Habitat loss
- Overhunting
- Accidentally being killed when hunters are duck hunting
- Poaching
5. - The Grizzly Bear: I can join the David Suzuki
Foundation’s demand for the government to put the
Grizzlies on the Species At Risk Act (SARA), and spread
the word to others to do the same.
- The Whooping Crane: I can donate funds, help protect
the wetlands, report any Whooping Cranes I see, and ask
others to help.
