Dolphins are cetacean mammals that live in pods in the ocean and eat fish and squid. They communicate using clicks and whistles, especially to communicate with newborn dolphins and mothers. Dolphins display high levels of intelligence in their social behaviors, forming bonds even with injured or dying dolphins, and working together in large "super pods" of up to 1,000 dolphins to herd fish into tight groups to more easily catch their prey. They have remarkably good eyesight and hearing that allows them to thrive in their aquatic environment.
