What God has joined together, let not man separateMichael Smith
God has established certain orders and arrangements that should exist according to the Bible. This includes marriage being between one man and one woman, divorce being allowed only for marital unfaithfulness, faith requiring corresponding works, obedience being necessary for salvation, repentance necessitating baptism, professing faith requiring living accordingly, and faithfulness being essential for eternal life. The document encourages obeying what God has joined together as revealed in scripture to avoid eternal punishment and be saved by hearing, believing, repenting of sins, confessing Christ, and being baptized.
1) Jesus said that the greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. The second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself.
2) Loving God and others is more important than religious sacrifices and rituals.
3) As a community, we are supposed to love God and love our neighbors.
Identity: Who We Are In Christ: We are Friends of ChristStephen Palm
We have already focused on the fact that Jesus has adopted us into His family. But he also called His disciples His friends. Friendship is different than family love. It can be every bit as close but operates on different principles. You don’t choose your family. Some are easy to love. Some are hard and it takes a lifetime to learn to love them consistently. But you do choose your friends and your friends choose you. Jesus chose you! But he also warns us that just as He loves His friends and is loved by them, He has enemies and they hate both Jesus and His friends. Increasingly there are those in our culture who despise Christians. They disparage us because “The dogma speaks loudly in us” to quote a U.S. Senator. Choosing Jesus as a friend is the best choice you can make, but He wants us to understand that it is a costly choice. Yet, not choosing to befriend Him is costlier yet.

The document discusses the meaning of "Church" according to the New Testament. It is not an institution that owns property or plans strategies, but rather a group of ordinary people who are experiencing God's grace and learning to overcome hostility, forgive one another, share what they have, and encourage wholesome relationships. The document also references several Bible passages about Jesus commanding his followers to love one another as he loved them, and to remain in his love by obeying his commands to love one another.
The document discusses how Christians have died to sin and been joined with Christ through baptism. It references passages from Romans chapter 6 that state that through baptism believers have joined Christ in his death and been freed from sin's power. The passages advise that since Christians have died to sin, they cannot continue living in sin and should not purposely sin to receive more of God's grace.

To God All the Glory!
Our identity is that we are loved by God and made worthy, not because of anything we have done or will do. God loves us with the same kind of love He has for Christ. Without truly appreciating this fact, we cannot be filled with God's fullness or trust Him fully. Indulging in sinful acts stems from not knowing how much God loves us. Realizing God's deep love for us gives us a strong foundation and improved self-esteem, enabling us to break free from sin and live as we ought.

This document discusses the importance and difficulty of forgiveness. It states that forgiveness requires years of learning and God's grace to overcome humanity's unwillingness to forgive. Unforgiveness destroys relationships between family members, spouses, and leads to unhappiness. God commands his people to forgive one another. While forgiveness may seem impossible, it is necessary to obey God and obtain his forgiveness. True forgiveness requires acknowledging one's own weakness and praying to God for strength beyond human ability to forgive others as Christ forgave us through his grace.
The document shares about finding true happiness and fulfillment through having a relationship with God, as our worries often stem from not feeling good enough rather than our actual circumstances. It discusses how all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory, but God demonstrates his love for us through Jesus, who died for our sins so we may have eternal life. Having faith in Jesus and confessing him as Lord can lead to salvation.
This document discusses the concept of unconditional love as exemplified by God's love for humanity in sending Jesus. It provides numerous biblical passages that describe love as sacrificial, patient, kind, and the fulfilling of religious law. The overall message is that Christians are called to love others in the same selfless and sacrificial way that God loves humanity through sending Jesus to die for our sins.
This document discusses evangelism and sharing one's faith with others. It argues that evangelism stems from God's perfect love for humanity, which compels believers to tell others about Jesus. It is not just a command but a privilege and honor. The document encourages remembering those who first shared their faith and invites reflecting on opportunities to do the same for others who are searching for meaning.
This is the first FCA message. It looks at how we become Christians through God\'s grace and simply believing in his Son\'s work on the cross. This said, we identify with Him. It also includes what FCA is all about
1. The document discusses what it means to be a child of God and part of God's family. It emphasizes that God has lavished great love on us by calling us his children.
2. While we do not know what we will become, we know that when Christ returns we will be like him. This gives us hope.
3. To be a child of God means loving other Christian brothers and sisters, which is demonstrated through actions rather than just words. Loving others is a sign that we belong to God.
This document discusses how all people, both believers and non-believers, are sinners. It presents passages from Romans chapters 1-3 that state all have sinned and fall short of God's standards. While non-believers live according to sinful desires, believers also sin and should not judge others. The only solution for salvation is through faith in Jesus' death on the cross to pay for sins. Having faith leads to repentance from sin and a transformed life through God's kindness and forgiveness.
Leadership Like Christ - Church Of Christ in Las Pinas - Bro Jenny Jay Rapira...Jenny Jay Rapirap
1. Titus 2:1-10 provides instructions for Christian living, teaching that all believers should be people of integrity and self-control who set a godly example.
2. Older women are told to be reverent and not gossipers, instead teaching what is good, while younger women should love their families.
3. Younger men should be self-controlled and set a serious example of good works, so that the teaching of God may not be maligned.
This document discusses how people learn about God from different sources. In three sentences: Creation reveals that God is kind, powerful, eternal and wise. Our consciences tell us we do wrong and deserve punishment. However, only the Bible can reveal how to be saved through faith in Jesus Christ, so the revealed knowledge of God in Scripture is most important for Christians.
This document presents several Bible passages about love, especially love for children and others. The passages discuss love as patient and kind; not envious or boastful; bearing all things and enduring all things; and being the greatest of faith, hope and love. They encourage walking in love, serving one another in love, loving neighbors and enemies, and loving as God first loved us through sending Jesus. The overall message is about showing unconditional love, forgiveness and compassion for others as commanded by God.
The document summarizes key passages from Romans 6 about dying to sin and being united with Christ. It discusses how baptism serves as the boundary between the old life of sin and the new life in Christ, where through faith in Jesus' death and resurrection believers receive eternal life and power over sin. It notes that while the penalty of sin has been paid and its power broken, believers must still choose to walk in the new life and offer themselves to God and righteousness rather than to sin.
The document discusses putting God first with money and possessions rather than being devoted to money. It notes that Satan wants people distracted from important things like worshipping God and spending time with family. While money is necessary, the Bible warns against greed and being enslaved by money rather than using it responsibly. The document encourages keeping God as Lord of all areas of life, including finances, and striving to be financially free so more time can be spent serving God.
God loves us unconditionally through His grace and mercy, as demonstrated through Jesus' sacrifice. We are called to represent God's love for others through our own loving actions. When we understand how much God loves us, we can love others in the same way.

To God All the Glory!
The document discusses what it means to have God in one's life. Some key points include:
- With God, one is a new creation, blessed in battles, and able to live a life that pleases God.
- God is with people even through trials and temptations.
- Having God means one's desires change, they can be strengthened in battles against spiritual forces, and they can worship God through love, trust, obedience, praise and using their abilities.
- In one's own strength nothing can be done, but with God there is freedom, change, and the ability to bear fruit.
The document discusses how Christians are called to build one another up through love rather than judge or despise one another. It notes that God has not appointed us to judge other believers, and that we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ to give an account of how we lived according to what we have done through the Holy Spirit. The key messages are that we should encourage, forgive and show mercy to one another rather than be harshly critical.
This document contains summaries of passages from Philippians 4 that discuss standing firm in faith and avoiding conflict. It encourages resolving differences with other believers through gentle communication instead of legalism or allowing circumstances to shape one's attitude. Rejoicing always in the Lord despite circumstances is emphasized as a way to stand firm, as are contemplating virtues and putting them into practice. The document prompts evaluating one's handling of conflict and relationships, and contemplating ways to apply the teachings.

Lesson 19 of 26 in a series of New Testament Vistas. This sermon on Romans 5-8 was presented May 6, 2012, at Palm Desert Church of Christ, by Dale Wells.
The document discusses the Lutheran view of grace and faith. It argues that all people are sinners by nature and incapable of saving themselves or doing good works to earn salvation. It states that people deserve God's punishment and eternal damnation for their sins. However, God sent his son Jesus to pay the price for sins and offers salvation as a free gift of grace received through faith, not works, so that all may be saved.
God expects perfection but humans are not perfect and sin. Jesus lived a perfect life as a substitute for imperfect humans. He died on the cross to pay the penalty for human sins then rose from the dead, defeating death. This allows humans to be saved from punishment for sins through faith in Jesus alone, not by being perfect.
A sermon-presentation on Romans chapter 8, King James Bible. Romans 8 is a chapter that begins with the statement that those who follow The Spirit are free from death, it ends with a passionate declaration of God's love for ALL mankind. Along the way the Apostle Paul shows in clear reasoning that we are free from death which is the ultimate separation from God. But that freedom comes with a price which is the suffering and death of Jesus and our acceptance of that truth by our willingness to cast off our carnal natures and seek the Spirit. By sharing in Christ's experience we, individually, and collectively as a body of believers, come into a brotherhood with with Jesus and are able to share in His inheritance from God. And finally in the home stretch Paul puts the whole thing in perspective by his declaring that nothing can separate us from the LOVE of GOD.
The document summarizes key passages from Romans 8 about certainty for Christians. It makes 3 main points:
1) Romans 8 begins with no condemnation for Christians and ends with no separation from God's love. Christians are safe, secure, and cannot be separated from God.
2) There is a struggle between the flesh and Spirit, but Christians have the Holy Spirit living within them and are no longer restricted by the flesh.
3) As children of God, Christians can be certain of the Holy Spirit's presence, guidance, intercession, and God's assurance. Nothing can separate Christians from God's love. The chapter promises no worries, no doubts, no charges against Christians, and no separation from God.
This document addresses 5 questions about life: 1) What is my purpose? 2) Do I have value? 3) Who is my provider? 4) Who guides my destiny? 5) What am I responsible for? For each question, the document cites Bible passages to argue that finding Jesus Christ provides the answers: our purpose is to know God, we have value as beings made in God's image, God is our provider, God guides our destiny, and we are responsible for our thoughts, words, actions, and relationship with God.
The Trinity and Salvation - Sbs Class March 29 2009BertBrim
The document discusses the importance of the doctrine of the Trinity for Christianity and salvation. It explains that the Trinity involves God existing as three persons - the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It also discusses how each person of the Trinity was involved in Jesus' life, death and resurrection, which accomplished salvation and atonement for humanity's sins. Specifically, it notes that Jesus the God-man paid the penalty through his death, and the Holy Spirit empowered him to live a sinless life.
The document discusses the gospel of Jesus Christ and the dilemma of mankind's sinfulness. It explains that sin separated humanity from God and that no one could obey God's laws perfectly or find fulfillment apart from Christ. The solution is that through God's grace and by faith in Jesus, who died for our sins, we can be saved. Believing in Christ means turning from sin and trusting that his sacrifice has made us righteous. The gospel calls us into a relationship with God and empowers us to live for him through faith in Christ.
This document discusses the key aspects of salvation through Jesus Christ. It begins by establishing that all humans are sinners separated from God. It then explains that God, through his love, sent Jesus to die for mankind's sins so that believers may be saved. The conditions for receiving salvation are to repent of sins and have faith in Jesus. Those who accept Jesus as their savior through prayer will be forgiven of their sins and granted eternal life with God.
The document discusses the first commandment given by God - "You shall have no other gods before Me." It explains that God desires our complete love and devotion, not just our weekly church attendance or offerings. Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind. The first commandment establishes that the one true God, who brought the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, alone deserves our worship. Anything else we make a priority in our lives over God becomes an idol or "god" that we worship. The only object worthy of worship is the eternal God, as He alone can satisfy and save us.
The document discusses several ways that God cares for his people based on passages from Romans 8:
1. God provides perspective on present sufferings and gives hope as we await our future glory. He aids us in our weaknesses and helps us pray.
2. God works all things for good for those who love him. He is conforming us into the image of Christ.
3. God is for us and did not spare his own son, so we can be assured of his love and care.
4. Nothing can separate us from God's love for us, not even hardship or persecution.
5. We are guaranteed victory through God's love. He promises we will overcome all challenges.
we all need motivation at times. what motivates you? Paul said 5 things to the brethren at Rome to motivate them to continue their service no matter how great the suffering became. the good always outweighs the bad. the Holy Spirit intercedes for us. God's providence works for us. Judgment is on our behalf. the love of God is on our behalf.
This document contains the text of a sermon on the doctrine of salvation by grace alone. It discusses how all humans are sinful and fall short of God's standards, but can be saved only by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It references several Bible passages to support the concepts of original sin, human sinfulness, and salvation by grace. It emphasizes that salvation is a free gift from God and cannot be earned through good works or religious efforts, but is received through faith in Christ alone.
God exists as a loving Person who created humanity, desires a close relationship, and sent Jesus to redeem us. The Bible teaches that God is eternal and exists as the Trinity - the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person exhibits attributes like will and personality. God is also holy, just, merciful, and forgiving. He invites relationship and wants us to know Him intimately through faith in Jesus, who paid for our sins through His death and resurrection.

The document provides an overview of Romans 8 from the NRSV and Kingdom New Testament translations. It summarizes that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who have been set free from sin and death through God sending his son. It discusses how those whose lives are determined by the Spirit have life and peace, being led as children of God, and nothing can separate believers from God's love in Jesus Christ.
Series passages that pump me up - part 11 - god’s powerful solutions to o...LifePointe Church
This is Part 11 of Pastor Chuck Bernal’s message series, “Passages That Pump Me Up”. This entire message is taken from Romans 8, one of the greatest chapters in the Bible. In this chapter, Paul specifically deals for 4 of the biggest "giants" we face in our lives: GUILT, ANGER/DISAPPOINTMENT, FEAR & LONELINESS. He then gives God's specific solutions to those 4 problems. This messsage was delivered at LifePointe Church in Crowley, TX on Sunday, August 9, 2015

The document discusses the character of God and argues that the only way to truly know God is through what He has revealed about Himself in the Bible. It states that while creation shows God's power, only Scripture reveals things like the Trinity and salvation through Jesus Christ. The author asserts that the Bible alone directs us on how to glorify and enjoy God forever.

To truly calculate the cost, you must consider both the cost of action and the cost of inaction not only for the near term but in the long term. Jesus calls us to a decision. Choose wisely.
Jesus warns his disciples about hypocrisy among religious leaders and tells them not to fear those who can kill the body. He instructs them not to fear people as much as God, who has authority over both body and soul. Jesus promises to acknowledge before God those who acknowledge him before men, but those who deny him will be denied. The Holy Spirit will give disciples words to say when they are brought before leaders to defend their faith.
Jesus responds to those accusing him of casting out demons by Beelzebul by pointing out the logical flaws in their argument. He lays out that a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand, and that if Satan is divided and casting people out of himself, his kingdom would collapse. Jesus further explains that if his exorcisms are by the power of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon them. He tells the crowds that whoever is not with him is against him. Jesus rebukes the generation seeking signs, saying the only sign given will be the sign of Jonah. He emphasizes the importance of hearing and keeping God's word for true blessing.
Jesus teaches his disciples about prayer in response to their request. He gives them a model prayer focusing on hallowing God's name, desiring his kingdom to come, and acknowledging dependence on him for daily provision and forgiveness. Jesus encourages prayer by reminding them of God's generosity like a father who provides for his children, and says God will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask. He emphasizes making prayer a priority and having the right priorities in prayer, such as honoring God and trusting in his provision.
Martha welcomed Jesus into her home but became distracted serving Him, while her sister Mary sat at His feet listening to His teaching. Martha complained to Jesus that Mary wasn't helping her, but Jesus said Mary chose the better part by spending time with Him rather than being distracted by many tasks. The passage emphasizes the importance of sitting at Jesus' feet to listen to Him over being busy doing things for Him without truly focusing on Him.
The seventy-two disciples returned from their mission joyfully saying that even demons were subject to them in Jesus' name. Jesus tells them that he saw Satan fall from heaven and that they have been given authority over all the power of the enemy. He says to rejoice not that spirits are subject to them, but that their names are written in heaven. Jesus rejoices that God has revealed these things to the disciples and not the wise and understanding. All things have been handed over to Jesus by God and no one knows the Son except the Father. Jesus tells the disciples that many prophets and kings desired to see and hear what they have seen and heard.

Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

Mantra Yoga is an exact science. "Mananat trayate iti mantrah- by the Manana (constant thinking or recollection) of which one is protected or is released from the round of births and deaths, is Mantra." That is called Mantra by the meditation (Manana) on which the Jiva or the individual soul attains freedom from sin, enjoyment in heaven and final liberation, and by the aid of which it attains in full the fourfold fruit (Chaturvarga), i.e., Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. A Mantra is so called because it is achieved by the mental process.
Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.
Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1

And we know that in all things God works
for the good of those who love Him, who
have been called according to His purpose.
For those God foreknew He also
predestined to be conformed to the
likeness of His Son, that He might be the
firstborn among many brothers.

2. Romans 8:30-32
And those He predestined, He also called;
those He called, He also justified; those He
justified, He also glorified. What, then,
shall we say in response to this? If God is
for us, who can be against us? He Who did

Him, graciously give us all things?
