It notes that networking through the internet builds on human's natural ability to network and that rainmakers have always relied on relationships. Finally, it states that word-of-mouth reputation is everything.
This document provides a series of tips for developing good presentations and PowerPoint slides. It suggests beginning with the end in mind and knowing your audience. Content should be solid, simple, and clearly outlined. Presentations should have a clear structure and information must be clear for the audience. Stories can be used to illustrate main points. Graphics, charts, fonts and colors should be used appropriately. Presentations should be rehearsed within half the time and use minimal transitions, builds and text. Videos or audio can also be included if used properly. Information should be presented in small, digestible segments.

Digital Ethics or The End of The Age of Legends v5Darren Kuropatwa
Slide deck in support of a conversation with educators about how to embed the teaching of digital ethics across the curriculum and holding up a mirror to our own ethical online behaviour before becoming too critical of the students who learn from us.
Held at the EARCOS Leadership Conference in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. 31 October 2014.
We live in an age where everything is recorded digitally – in pictures, video, and text – live as it happens; it's the end of the age of legends. "Selfie", according to the Oxford dictionary, is the word of the year 2013. Often the selfies our students are sharing aren't putting their best digital foot forward. As teachers, how can we help our students leave digital footprints they can be proud of? Is only sharing your "best stuff" such a good idea? How do we address the issue of digital ethics across the curriculum and in our classrooms?

Wie wird man Politik im Unternehmen los? – German Testing Day 2014Olaf Lewitz
Pulling the Plug - A Film 260 Flipbook compiled by Ian IpIan Ip
This document discusses how social media, particularly Facebook, has made breaking up and getting over a breakup more difficult. It notes that social media provides constant reminders of exes through photos and updates. It also argues that on social media, it is difficult to truly cut ties with an ex by unfriending or blocking them. Several studies cited found that remaining Facebook friends with an ex can delay emotional recovery from a breakup and cause greater distress. The document concludes by discussing how dismantling the online presence and history with an ex that social media has archived can be challenging.
This document lists over 50 tools to enhance social media strategies across various platforms such as blogging, real estate networks, Facebook, Twitter, photo sharing, video, and more. It provides information on tools for each category including their URLs and brief descriptions. The document is intended to help users select appropriate tools to build and manage effective social media presences.
As a developer and a creative, you need ways to work better so that you can create more, but what do you do when you hit a seemingly insurmountable mental wall? You need to get unblocked: to bust through that barrier to allow creativity to flow. Beware: this presentation challenges the standard norms around concentration, focus, productivity, and may change how you work…for the better.
This document is the credits and acknowledgments section for a digital story titled "David: A Digital Story". It lists the sources for each of the images used in the digital story, crediting their original photographers on Flickr. The document was prepared by Paul Signorelli & Associates for an online course on digital storytelling.
Tips to making a successful power point presentationdburke3
The document provides tips for creating effective PowerPoint presentations. It recommends keeping the design simple, having a clear theme, and hooking the audience from the start. Large fonts and high quality, relevant pictures are suggested. Limited animations, slides, and readings directly from slides are also advised. Instead, presenters should tell a story and be mindful of timing. References to additional resources on PowerPoint tips are included.
Instructs middle and high school students how to give image attribution for online presentations and blogs. One slide is from a database, Britannica Image Quest, the rest are from Creative Commons or public domain.
The document discusses the evolution of libraries and the web from versions 1.0 to 4.0. It outlines principles of Library 2.0 which focus on participation, flexibility, and recognizing users as human. Libraries are now everywhere and have no barriers. The document urges libraries to find out what users want and provide both services and spaces for study and collaboration, while assisting users with information and technology skills. It suggests librarians learn new tools gradually and share knowledge to keep up with changes.
The document discusses designing for content-first experiences on the web. It recommends designing the content space first before building out features or structure. Content should be prioritized over designer control, and sites should be designed to work for scrapers and with one-touch visits in mind. A case study examines the Mercy Corps homepage redesign, which focused on optimizing their blog and content.

LIBS 602 Final Project - Hot Tools to Make the Heart Beat: Using Haiku Deck,...dcmoury
This document provides information about four online tools - Haiku Deck, Thinglink, Powtoon, and Meograph - and proposes ways to use each tool in a classroom setting for science, social studies, and library lessons. For each tool, the document outlines pros and cons, and then provides an example project for how that tool could be used in each subject area. The purpose is to gather ideas for using these tools listed on the 2014 AASL Best Websites List. It concludes by inviting questions and other ideas.
The Importance of Storytelling in Web Design, WordCamp Miami 2013Denise Jacobs
The document discusses the importance of storytelling in web design. It argues that storytelling is how humans naturally gather and process information, and that websites should incorporate story elements like characters, plots, and settings to effectively engage users. Specific examples of websites that successfully use stories are provided. The presentation encourages designers to think of themselves as modern storytellers and to integrate narrative elements into their design process from the beginning of a project.
Technology and Change: It's good for business, is it good enough for education?Hazel Owen
The notion that education prepares you for the rest of your life is flawed. Rather, education helps you develop the lifelong learning skills that will help you to be responsive to change as it happens.
It might be argued that, public confidence in higher education has been declining steadily as the gap between the 'relevance' seen (by students, communities, and commerce) between what students are being prepared for and the lives they are going to live.
I wanted to ask the question (perhaps a little controversial)
Are tertiary institutions innovative (something several claim to be) or are they simply doing the same things they have been doing for years, just using different tools?
Are we preparing students to be ethical, able participants in communities - online and face-to-face?
This document discusses teaching and learning in context with the help of the web. It explores who is involved, what is being done, and how learning is happening. It addresses challenges like developing narratives of learning, autonomy, collaboration, participation, creativity, socialization, trust, and new forms of assessment. It acknowledges both opportunities and difficulties that arise from these changes to learning.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
