1. Listening
 Don’t just hear-Listen!
 Hearing means the sound but listening means paying
attention to the sound.
2. Understanding
 Understanding the information required and provided
 Understanding the position of the individual both
regarding the communication as well as the effects it
has to create.
 Example: Engineer vs. Pilot and what responsibilities
this entails.
What is the Communication the key to?
3. Attention
 Attention to each word and phrase as well as what
information and prospective aftermath they create.
 Readiness to carry out any and all objectives which
they can and will result in.
What Does the Information Lead To?
4. Focus
 Readiness to hear, understand and adhere to whatever
has been said.
What is the information
and What Does it Mean?
5. Teamwork
 Response, response, response!
 Readiness to respond with the others involved in the
communication and the needs it creates.
 Understanding that no matter what position you are
in, you are just as important as the next…
