Normal can have different meanings across cultures. In Asian cultures, normal often refers to multi-generational families running businesses together and practicing common faiths at home. In American culture, normalcy is associated with ideals of individual freedom, equal rights, national holidays, education, sports and deriving from European roots with a constitutional government and Christian religious influences. What feels normal depends on a culture's history and shared experiences.

This case report describes a 54-year-old female patient who presented with fever, cough, and decreasing vision over the past 3 months. Examination found multiple skin lesions and red eyes. Tests showed anemia and elevated inflammatory markers. Imaging found lung infiltrates. Biopsy demonstrated necrotizing granulomatous vasculitis. She was diagnosed with Wegener's granulomatosis and treated with immunosuppressants. Wegener's is a rare autoimmune disease characterized by inflammation and necrosis of blood vessels and formation of granulomas affecting the respiratory tract and kidneys.

Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
