NTM lung disorder is an infection caused by common environmental mycobacteria that are aerosolized and breathed in, especially putting those with underlying lung conditions like bronchiectasis at risk. NTM infection symptoms include coughing, fatigue, and shortness of breath, and if left untreated can worsen and cause permanent lung damage, leading to a gradual and chronic NTM lung disease.
