A freeze dryer consists of a dry chamber where frozen products sublimate directly from solid to vapor, a condenser that collects the vapor, and a vacuum system that removes air from the dry chamber and aids sublimation. It performs freeze-drying, a process where frozen products are dried in a vacuum without melting by sublimating moisture directly from the solid to vapor phase.

WHAT IS A FREEZE DRYER?
A freeze dryer is a device that performs a freeze-drying process. It consists of three
components:
 A dry chamber or freeze-drying with tightly fitting -> the product, previously
frozen, passes directly from solid to vapour estate.
 A condenser including a cooling circuit -> the resulting vapour thickens. It is
connected to the dry chamber.
 A vacuum system -> through an oil pump in which the air from the dry
chamber is removed when the freeze-drying process starts. Later it helps in the
process of sublimation.
